Three years have gone by since the fall of Naraku - three years since the disappearance of Kagome Higurashi, with hope for her return dwindling as the Bone Eater's Well lies dormant. Things change for a heartsick hanyou as the magical portal suddenly reactivates, but not in connection to modern Tokyo. When strange shinobi from an unfamiliar era come through the well, Inuyasha finds himself with a new fight on his hands, and a new companion at his side. Between heated battles and new fears, will Inuyasha be able to set aside his heartache long enough to see the possibilities for happiness that now stand before him? And with the help of a powerful new ally, will Deidara be able to escape from the shadow of his own dark past? With their lives and hearts on the line, it's all or nothing.
This fic is a love letter to my bestie @pleasedontstealmysoul ILU boo.
Once upon a time in 2009, in the darkness of the wings backstage of a school play, two highschool best friends wrote a very silly crack fic together in a spiral notebook. A few years later nostalgia drove them to rewrite it properly, but their talents as writers were still developing. Now, thirteen years since its inception, I looked back fondly on this story that meant so much to me and my life-long best friend, but despite my endearment to the story, it's age was showing badly. Epithets, plot holes, and scenes written in questionable taste plagued the story, and so in an effort to breathe new life into something I love, I took on the daunting task of reworking this silly crack fic from the ground up. Sagging plots were gutted, and new supports added, characters brought into better alignment, and long hours were spent slaving over a hot Wikipedia researching sexuality in Edo Japan and period-typical chain mail. Ultimately this is the product of two months of dedicated love. While I know it's probably not what you were looking for at first, if you're here then I hope this story brings you as much joy as it has me.
Now also to talk about the cover art I made for this. It started its life as a humble sketch on a lined sheet of note paper smaller than my phone. Took me several days of work, but eventually ended up with something I’m proud of. On the off chance I ever get this printed as a personal paperback, I am definitely using this as the cover art - that was the intention anyway.
This was my first time using vector line art in CSP and while it’s more time-intensive than raster line art, I’m definitely not going back if only because of how wildly easy it was for me to make corrections to the line art as I went.
Feel free to view full-size (the resolution is quite high), but don’t be surprised if you see some little mistakes I missed.
Thank you so much for taking my com!! You did such a wonderful job with Veldrin I'm just staring directly at this forever and ever!!
And obviously incredible Jarlaxle, as always. You have him down to such a fine science, it truly is such an honor to have my guy in the same piece as one of your impeccable Jarlaxle's!
(I hope @mixanji doesn't mind if I share a tiny excerpt from our RP including some of her wonderfully written prose for Jarlaxle)
His smile quirked up into lighthearted humor, as easily as slipping on a jacket. “I should like to see my time invested in you become something more useful than a hammer.”
Veldrin hid a pained wince beneath his deferential bow. A hammer. A blunt object good for driving nails and little else. How could his master think him a hammer? He was a knife! Razor-edged and silent, sliding deftly across the throats and between the ribs of Jarlaxle’s enemies. He was a spyglass, seeking out distant secrets and bringing them to his master’s attention. He was a red letter, quiet threat that bent his master’s rivals at the knee. He was a hound, tracking whatever target his master gave him, rooting out vermin, flushing his master’s quarry from their hiding places, and returning faithfully, lovingly to heel. Frustrated bile rose in the back of his throat, and Veldrin swallowed hard around his gall. A heavy thump behind him made Jarlaxle pause and glance over his shoulder. Where he had been following ever so loyally behind, Veldrin had suddenly dropped to his knees, palms flat, and pressed his forehead into the damp stonework floor.
[...]
“Please…” he hissed, lips ghosting the cobblestone, “forgive me, master.” His voice trembled. A deep ache welled up inside his chest, yearning for punishment, some pound of flesh he could offer to appease Jarlaxle’s dissatisfaction – but his master had never been so easily pleased. He did not expect penance of his subordinates, he expected better. “I will be a worthy investment. I will be any instrument you need me to be.” A tool in his master’s deft hands was all Veldrin had ever wanted to be.
A bone-deep feeling of warmth and relief radiated through Veldrin from that small touch – absolution bloomed from his master’s fingertips and the breath shuddered in his chest. He held that moment in a state of reverent quiescence until Jarlaxle withdrew his forgiving touch and Veldrin finally stood. Fist pressed firmly to his breastbone, he bowed deferentially.
I originally made this one as a custom emoji for my friends' WoF RP server on discord, so the details are a bit less crisp because it wasn't originally supposed to be seen any bigger than like 50px x 50px lol.
Thank you so much, Snejkha, for tackling the task of redesigning Denavir! You did such a great job turning my sweet and gentle good boy (TM) into a shell of his former self, having lost all his memories to a terrible curse and joined Bregan D'aerthe as an assassin to fill the void where his past used to be (specifically with dogged loyalty and consummate violence).
I really love all the design choices you made for his outfit! The cloak is such a great look for him, and the weaving of spikes into his braid is inspired. 😘👌 It seriously gives me chills and I can't wait for my friend to wake up so I can make them look at it!
I haven't done as much art this year as I think I would have liked, but I did produce some pieces I'm really proud of! I also realized that not all of the drawings I did ended up getting posted on this blog... so... whoops! Maybe I'll finish all the dragons I was working on and post them all in one big batch next year!
Just finished reshelling and replacing the buttons on a GameCube controller I picked up at a flea market.
Shell is Iridescent Pewter White by Control In Color
Buttons are Cool Opal resin cast by Lab Fifteen
L/R triggers, membranes, and sticks are all still OEM, so it has a really nice feel to press the buttons and move the sticks, and I didn't feel like it needed a snap-back mod. My only complaint is that the texture on the sticks is more plastic than the OEM soft rubber pads, but that's the price one must pay for pretty resin-cast iridescent sticks.
I might revisit this one and replace the cable also, because there are some cool paracord cables out there that might go better than the standard black (plus this was originally an indigo controller so the plug is still indigo lol)
I sketched him a while ago and wanted to give the sketch the full color treatment it deserved. Done in Inkscape with my mouse, I'd estimate about 20 hours of concerted effort.
Don't let his wistful ocarina playing and his pretty necklace fool you, he's a chaos gremlin and whatever the fantasy equivalent of a jock is.
(For best viewing experience, put on "Leaving the Body Freely" from the OST)
Ay so I've been cooking on a story that might actually get written! It involves Deidara getting into some yokai hooch and turning into an oni demon, but that's all I'll say for now.
With a resolute huff, he buried his nose against Deidara's neck nuzzling him strong enough to wake him, but gently enough to do it without getting slapped, he hoped.
Deidara groaned in his sleep, resisting his mate's gentle cajoling.
"Mmmwhat-" he mumbled without even opening his eyes. That was a good sign. He wasn't bristling about getting woken up at least. Inuyasha snaked his arm around his lover's waist and pulled him a little closer as he trailed a few mouthy kisses up the bare curve of his hunched shoulder.
"Hey," he whispered, "you up?"
"What do you think, hn?" Deidara's answer was slurred with sleep, digging in his heels and resisting his lover's gentle attempts at rousing him.
"Is that a yes?"

Just a short one-shot I wrote on my phone while bored at work. Couldn't think of a title, so I gave this thing the exact same title as every other somno pwp to ever exist, lol. Dubiously canon to the All-or-Nothing-verse, so I'm not adding it to the fic series. Too short to bother with a beta. If it gets a good reception I may add a sequel chapter. Who knows.
Aaaaay! Finished art and made a trainer card for the steel type Elite 4 member that I initially made Mega Revavroom to be the ace of XD
*Mega Revavroom not to scale
Just some parts of his clothing that I designed before actually putting together proper art of him.
On the jacket, I ended up making a few small changes to the final design from where I started. I prefer the "metal" type emblem from the TCG for the symbol on the back of the jacket over the steel teratype symbol, but I had to make both just to see. I also reeeeeeally love his Revavroom belt buckle that includes his mega key stone. I thought that was such a cool accessory, and I'm pretty sure a belt buckle key stone hasn't been done yet (I gotta hurry and get my ideas down before Z-A comes out so I can say I did it first in case Gamefreak has any of the same ideas as me lol).
Okay! More about Gauge!
Gauge is the final member of the Elite 4 for the speculative fan game my friend @solarfox6 and I have been playing with. He would be a reoccurring character throughout the player's story, a bit similar to Cynthia, but a bit more down-to-earth and a bit less intimidating.
Occupation: Mechanic (works on cars mostly but tinkers with motorcycles) / Elite 4 member (Steel)
Interests: Competitive Pokémon battling, trains/model trains/trainspotting, antiquing (train & motor vehicle parts and memorabilia), amateur photography, candy (hard candy especially)
Bio: When Gauge was a kid he was super into trains and learned about steam engines first before getting interested in combustion engines. His first Pokémon was Varoom, owing to his fascination with engines. It stayed with him throughout his schooling and Pokémon journey, and is now his ace. All of his team has 4x weaknesses, which he prides himself of because it means he has to battle with very tight strategies, and he loves battles that make him think. He loves a challenge and loves to problem-solve. He also loves hard candies and can often be found with a sucker in his mouth while he works.
In Game: Gauge owns a mechanic shop in an early town the player visits. You can talk to him, and he’s personable, but he doesn’t have anything for you except an optional battle. If the player battles him, his trainer class will be “Mechanic” rather than “Elite Four” and he will use Pokémon suited to the approximate level the player should be at in their journey. He’ll only use steel types, but lower level under evolved steel types like Magnemite and Klink. He mentions that if you ever get yourself a set of wheels, he'd be happy to give them an upgrade. Later when the player acquires a bicycle, they can bring it back to Gauge at his shop and he will admit he’s never worked on a bicycle, but he’ll give it a try (maybe also sends the player on some kind of errand in exchange for working on their bicycle?) When the player comes back a little while later, Gauge has outfitted their bicycle with a two-stroke kick-start motor kit, allowing the player to hold ‘B’ while riding their bike to go even faster (basically get running shoes for your bike). If they player battled Gauge or upgraded their bike with him, when they face him in the Elite 4, he will comment how he recognizes the player and asks how much stronger their team has gotten, and/or how their bike is holding up.
Post-Game: Gauge might possibly have a quest for the player post-game (similar to Wattson sending the player to New Mauville). It would be really neat if he had some difficult to get battle items or evolution items (metal coat and iron ball, maybe more) that the player can exchange one rare candy for one of those items. If there’s a train anywhere in the game the player might have a rare chance of seeing him in the train station and when talking to him he'd just say something about how he loves trains and has always been fascinated by steam engines.
The team that I gave Gauge in his trainer card is probably not the team that he'd face the player with their first time through the E4. He'd probably only have five of his mons, and not all of them would have held items. For the first battle against him, I might drop Scizor or Alolan Sandslash, or maybe both and add in Forrtress. For rematch battles with him, he'd have the full team on his trainer card though.
I've been meaning to design a mega evolution for Revavroom for a loooong time now (cars are hard to draw, guys!) and I finally got around to it! This is also a speculative ace Pokémon for a Steel Elite-4 member in the fan region my friend @solarfox6 and I have been playing around with. I'll put the stat block text and more design notes under a cut.
Pokédex Entry:
Mega evolution has pushed this Pokémon to its physical limit. With four additional cylinders, it is always starving for air, panting and dripping toxic fluids from its filter. Uncombusted fuel sparks flames from its exhaust pipes. A trainer that touches any metal part of its body will receive a severe burn.
Height:
2.4m / 7'10"
Weight:
441.4kg / 973.2lbs
Design notes:
The sheer number of different engines and hot rods I had to look at for reference is like... so many. Too many tbh.
I replaced the cylindrical air filter that serves as Revavroom's mouth (one of its mouths?) with a much larger air scoop, and increased the engine from a V8 to a V12 as the natural progression of mega evolution (hence there being 12 exhaust pipes now instead of 8).
I gave the valve covers some decorative ridges and thought it would be really neat to make it glow hot through the ridges (even though that's not something that would conceivably happen irl, it was a very rule-of-cool decision). I also swapped its lower mouth(?) with a grill (again with more glowy bits).
I tried to research what purpose the basketty bit at the tip of a flame thrower is actually for, and found basically no results for its actual function irl despite it being a prolific trope in sci-fi flame thrower weapons - turns out it's borrowing visual elements from WWI flame throwers, butane torches, and muzzle breaks, and is another case of fiction being governed by the rule-of-cool... and who am I to fight with such a ubiquitous rule?
I made the wheels in the back MUCH bigger, to evoke drag race cars, and replaced the stone wheel spikes with big metal ones.
Lastly I stretched the fins on the back up really tall like the fins on 1950s muscle cars, and gave it big metal spikes in place of the pointed tail lights you'd see on the fins.
If you made it this far down the post, you get a gold star and my eternal gratitude!! As a special bonus just for you, you can have your very own Revavrite!
With dragons, as with everything, it all eventually circles back to InuDei uwu
Deidara
Name: Marl
Name Meaning: A type of aggregate mudstone dense in kaolinite used in making ball clay (which has high plasticity and can explode at high firing temperatures)
Tribe: Mudwing
Appearance: Leucistic with stormy blue eyes. On the slender side for a Mudwing. Scars on his forelegs. Keeps left eye covered by a cloth veil. (I have not come up with an in-universe reason for it yet, if it needs one, but he felt naked without his silly bangs).
Occupation: sculptor/ceramicist, terrorist (under control of Dreamweaver)
History:
Was very young when the war ended. Lost his siblings in an Icewing raid on their home – it’s entirely likely that his siblings were killed and not him because he’s white and was mistaken for an another Icewing by the Icewing raiders. No other Mudwing group wanted him as an unsib, either because he was weird looking or because he was ‘bad luck’. He was still a dragonet when he joined up with the Talons of Peace for safety more than anything else, but when the war ended, the Talons devolved into internal power struggles.
Marl ended up (whether he liked it or not) subordinate to a Nightwing by the name Dreamweaver who had defected from the Night Kingdom when it fell and entered into the mad scramble for power in the Talons of Peace. Dreamweaver was militant and cruel and had big ambitions for the world in the wake of the War of Sandwing Succession. These plans largely involved destabilizing weakened kingdoms with terrorist attacks, and provoking more war, of which Dreamweaver planned to come out on top. This, he claimed, would be how true peace would be achieved. Marl was still too young for real combat, but he had a talent for making explosives from clay that could be devastating when heated just a bit. He carried out several such bombings at Dreamweaver’s order, obeying because, as Dreamweaver put it – nobody else would protect Marl after all he’d done. Marl never felt like had any other option... until he was sent to plant explosives in a place called Possibility.
Finally exposed to other dragons living in a kind of harmony Dreamweaver claimed was impossible, Marl had the courage (or maybe cowardice) to finally run away. Dreamweaver wouldn’t let him go so easily, however, and came to hunt Marl down. In their eventual fight, Dreamweaver blasted one of Marl’s explosives with fire, causing it to go off, leaving Marl with badly hurt forelegs (and a damaged left eye?). It was then that a strange dragonet came rushing in to the rescue, clawing out one of Dreamweaver’s eyes and driving him off. And that was when Marl met Foehn.
The rest of the "Akatsuki" are around also, though I doubt I'll do real art of them. Dreamweaver is also kind of a hybrid of Pain and Itachi.
Konan: Skywing named Crane (Only slightly less adept at bombs than Marl.)
Kisame: Seawing named Thresher (This is just normal Kisame.)
Sasori: Sandwing named Redclaw (Less puppets, more poison.)
Kakuzu: Icewing named Hoarfrost (Old as hell, probably exiled from the Ice Kingdom for failing to kill a rival tribe's queen long ago.)
Hidan: Rainwing named Deathcap (Carnivore who wants blood and death and violence! Aren't you tired of being pacifists? Don't you wanna go apeshit?)
Zetsu: Leafwing named Flytrap (He was infected by the Breath of Evil similar to Hawthorn, but Cottonmouth/the Othermind tried to send him with seeds to Pyrrhia. He nearly drowned on the journey and barely held onto his own consciousness long enough to lose the seeds in the ocean. He washed up on the shores of Pyrrhia driven near to madness by the Othermind and even now that his mission for the Othermind has failed, it still takes control of his mind in spurts.)

Inuyasha
Name: Foehn
Name Meaning: Wind which blows down a mountain slope
Tribe: Skywing / Icewing hybrid
Appearance: Crimson red scales with white horns and white spikes down his spine. Serrated claws that look just a little too long on his talons. Long wingtips.
Occupation: Vagrant Vigilante
History:
His mother, named Flurry, was a younger sister of Queen Glacier who fled the ice kingdom for reasons I will think of later. She hid in the northern mountains of the Sky Kingdom despite it being hostile territory for a long while. A Skywing general, named Lammergeier, found her while he was on a solo patrol of the northern border, but recognized her as no threat. He took pity on her at first and turned a blind eye to her presence. He kept taking the solo patrol route that covered the cave where she was hiding to keep other Skywings from finding her, since he knew they would kill or capture her. Over time he kept visiting and keeping her safe and they fell in love. Another Skywing commander (one who was jealous of Lammergeier's station) found out about Flurry, and took a small squadron into the mountains to kill her. Lammergeier, who was the fastest flier in the Skywing army, caught up to the troop just before they reached Flurry's cave and fought him to protect her. He fended off half a dozen Skywings, slaying his comrades in furious battle. The other Skywings were killed, but Lammergeier was mortally wounded in the fight. He told Flurry to go south to Possibility where she could be safe and tell no one about him. She stayed by his side in the cave until he passed before flying south to Possibility. Neither of them had known at the time that she was with egg.
She went under the assumed name "Rime" in Possibility, and eventually hatched her and Lammergeier's son. She raised him for a while, until an Icewing happened to recognize her. She managed to hide young Foehn, but a small group of Icewings still loyal to Glacier came and slew her in the night, burning her home in the night. Foehn managed to escape the fire, but lived on the streets afterward, a homeless, orphaned, unwanted halfwing.
Foehn was a baleful cretin, who stole things and picked fights and was generally hated back by the rest of the community. He briefly fell in love with a young Sandwing named Mirage who trended and oversaw the public water well, because she was the one dragon in all of Possibility that didn't despise him. She gentled him somewhat, but all that progress was undone when she was killed by goons from the Scorpion Den who wanted to control the water supply.
Yadda yadda he was kind of awakened to evils that needed fighting against and became something of a vigilante, as much as a dragonet could. And that's how he ended up rescuing Marl.
Foehn is a fire-scales, but because of his Icewing heritage, his body remains touchable, if warm. If his anger flares too much, he heats up, until a glancing touch can burn as easily as a hot poker.
My gorl!! I know I already said it but I love your rendering style so much! I feel like I could just reach out and pet her and she would be so smooth! I love the shapes and the shading and the GILLS! And the SCALES!! Thanks so much for taking my commission! I can't wait to share your art with my friends!
Me and some buddies are making Wings of Fire OCs for an RP, and I wanted to share the art I did of one of my characters.
This is Tumbleweed, a Sandwing dragonet. He's got a bit of a cowboy theme to him, and he uses his tail like a whip to dispense justice or whatever. His hero is Sandwing folk-hero named Whiptail, which is where he got the idea from. His long-term goal is to avenge his father, who was killed by a rogue Sandwing bandit called Sidewinder.
OC do not steal
But for real I put water marks on this art because I don't want other people copying it for personal use or reposting.
