ethics of making AI images aside, I do find a bit amusing the kinds of sob stories and mental gymnastics people make up to pretend like drawing is this super technical skill with an impossibly high barrier of entry when its like one of the first hobbies toddlers pick up
suddenly a lot of people think they got the next Lord of the Rings in their head but they were never able to turn their stories into anything tangible because the evil elitist artists are hogging all the talent and skill and they need a bajilion years of training or something as if one of the most popular manga and anime of the past decade wasn't made by a guy that draws like this
I would hype it up more but this is really really simple. It randomly generates a set of symbols, colors, and a word, and then the expected thing to do with those is you draw some sort of character based off the result you get. So it's just an art challenge toy thingy.
There are also some practical features like you can lock parts of the result in place to rerandomize the rest, or hide parts of the generation you don't care about (like if you want to pick your own colors or hate the words being there)

It should run in browser, but there's also a downloadable version for Windows if you want to use it offline. (No mac/linux versions for now, because I don't have appropriate computers to test those on and I...don't want to deal with mac's developer accounts or whatever their problem is...)

Cutting something out of your life because you think you don’t need it any more only to realize that it was in fact working as intended and preventing a problem that will return should you stop doing this is a good experiment to run periodically with something small like dandruff shampoo, lest you start to think it would be a good idea to do this with like let’s say public health and the social safety net and vaccines

The main issue they're having with young voters is that Nevada allows for voter registration through the Department of Motor Vehicles, and the "signatures" are digital (the licensee types it into a form), so their hand-written signatures on their ballots don't match the KEYSTROKES that serve as signatures on their license.
It would be hilarious if it weren't so fucking infuriating.

yo hey US people who sent in absentee ballots, they are tossing mail-in ballots for no reason. i just had to call my county board of elections and demand a cure for my ballot because north carolina didn't send out any notices of issues with ballots, and the issues are fake. if you voted by mail-in make sure your ballot was actually counted
Hello everyone, I am Ahlam, 21 years old. My life before the war was simple, filled with ordinary dreams like any young woman my age. I envisioned a future full of the ability to help others. I lived with my family in a warm house full of love and security, thinking about how I could achieve my dreams and become an impactful person in society.
But suddenly, everything changed. The war swept through our city like a relentless storm. In a single night, my home became just a memory, and the city I once knew crumbled before my eyes. The sound of planes and shells became the only thing people could hear. We tried to find shelter, a safe place to hide our dreams and lives, but the war followed us wherever we went.
We were forced to leave everything behind—the house, the memories, and even the university. We became displaced, homeless, with no destination, just trying to survive. I walked with my family through unfamiliar roads, searching for a place to take us in, trying to escape danger, running from one explosion to the next, from one ruin to another.
The war didn't just destroy our city and homes, it destroyed our dreams. My dream of completing my studies became far out of reach, and every day, I feel hope slipping further away. But despite all this, something inside me refuses to give up. There is a desire to escape this reality and build a new life, a life worth living. I dream of continuing my education, I dream of standing on my own feet again and achieving the goal I was once striving for: to help others who have lived through the pain of war like me.
I ask for your help, humbly. I can't get out of these circumstances on my own. The donations you gather will help me travel to a safe place where I can continue my studies and start a new life away from war and fear. i fucking LOVE this dude (FLESH SIMULATOR is the name of his accounts). all of his videos are full of information and tips like this, and he always has loud industrial tone music mixed poorly over him speaking to make it impossible to create a clean AI copy of his voice.
Ok so i got this reply on this post talking about how palestinian bloggers are getting their accounts deleted and banned by tumblrs automated moderation system, and listen i have no interest in putting this person on blast cause i genuinely Dont think this sentiment is coming from a malicious place.
But i do want to talk about this nonetheless because i dont think you guys are realising that the people making these accounts and reaching out to us are doing so in english for OUR benefit, so that they can be understood by the english speaking majority on this site.
A lot of the people (not all but quite a few probably) are just not comfortable speaking in english!!! They may be using google translate to reach out to us and understand what we say back, and we all know how janky those translations tend to be. On top being completely unfamiliar with Tumblr's posting etiquette (which i do recall a lot of people were all taking pride in for being SO different from other sites not too long ago), there's a very obvious language barrier too.
Of course their posts will not be "natural sounding" enough for you.
And that's fine. Good on you for staying vigilant etc etc.
All I'm asking of you is to understand what you are asking of people when you demand that they "sound more natural" so that you can find them "convincing". You are demanding them to be fluent in language and culture they are not familiar with, when theyre already here at all because theyre in the middle of a genocide and just trying to survive.
So if you do get messages from palestinian people who want to spread their campaign and want to call yourself an ally, please dont immediately report them. There are places you can check to see if they are legit or not, there are palestinian bloggers who are working really hard to make sure any money you donate are going to people who actually need it instead of disgusting scammers who are trying profit off their misery.
Literally all you have to do is type their url into the search bar, and most likely you will find out if theyre a scam or not. If there arent any results you can just ask someone. Just dont outright dismiss thats all i ask.

This person hasnt said anything about blocking or reporting but, Again i want to say PLEASE KEEP AN OPEN MIND.
Many of these accounts are new, or have been remade because they got previously deleted by tumblr. There are users on here like @kyra45 @neechees and @mangocheesecakes who keep track of scammers so you CAN check in with their lists as well.
Please get over this kneejerk response, its not a big adjustment. People have time and time again given you people every resource to check if they are legit or not. There is a point where this starts to look malicious, and i really dont want to assume that so please put in this effort from your side its really not that hard
Im really tired of having to spell this out for people but u all calling all the palestinians reaching out to us for help "scams", especially after they have gone through the difficult process of being vetted, is dehumanizing and racist.
1. "But the gfm organizer isnt in palestine!"
That is because gofundme doesnt operate outside western countries, and as such doesnt work in palestine. They need an organizer from outside the country to do it for them.
2. "But we could be donating to trusted ngos instead like unrwa!"
Many ngos have stopped operating in gaza because of the violence and dangers to their workers, because they are specifically being marked as targets by the iof. Israel has been trying to declare unrwa a terrorist organization for a while now, and barely any of the aid being sent to gaza is actually getting through to the people who need it. Your money would be better served if it reached the people directly in gaza who need them, or other such grassroots organization run by palestinians themselves.
3. "But the vetting process isnt transparent!"
Thats because making it transparent will mean telling the actual scammers exactly how they can be more convincing. But even so it has been explained many times by hussein and nairuz that they do so by checking if the person theyre vetting knows palestinian arabic. We should be following the lead of palestinians who have taken up the difficult work of verifying fundraisers and trust their judgement when it comes to their own people.
4. "But the list of vetted fundraisers carefully maintained by palestinians at great cost to their own health even when they are actively grieving the people they have lost in the past few months still isnt convincing to me!"
Idk how else to say this. You're racist and theres no helping you. Stop wasting peoples time.
hey! you shouldnt make jokes calling cis people eggs, especially when they are real living breathing human beings with intelligent thought and critical thinking. if you do, you're weird and i think you should consider the effect your words more often, because as someone who was a very public facing cis person who had a lot of Egg jokes made about me before transitioning, it still makes me fucking sick to think about. it fucked me up so bad that i refused to transition until i quit my job and wasnt under the eyes of people making bets on my psychology. how dare you fucking speak down to me regarding my own identity. how dare you fucking claim to know me better than i know myself.
it is not the privilege of trans people to have their stated gender identity believed, nor is it a sin of cis people to acknowledge their option to transition and still remain cis. make egg jokes about fictional characters, fine. but accusing a stranger of not being the gender they claim to be is not something you get to reclaim when you're trans.
and no, i don't feel better a out these jokes now that im out. you dont get to say "i knew it". that is the same exact thing, just played out retroactively.
