Johnny Cade headcanons!

- he loved rock music, and wanted to play guitar someday

- he was the only member of the gang to smoke weed, and didn't tell anyone except Dallas 'cause he didn't want to set a bad example for Ponyboy who already had a raging cigarette addiction

- the reason his parents hated him so much is because he was bisexual. He never told anyone else, though Dally and Darry both guessed something along the lines

- the reason he knew not to bleach his hair blonde is that he'd tried it once in an attempt to look more like Dally. It went about as poorly as you'd expect

- he's the best driver out of the gang, to Steve's utter dismay

- he's dyslexic as fuck but loves reading anyway, it just takes him a long time to finish a book, which is why he likes when Pony and Dally read out loud

- he loved stargazing, could name at least half the constellations above Tusla

- He was only halfway through his sentence, he meant to say "Stay gold Ponyboy, stay gold Dallas", but he died before he could get the last word out
