if you are distressed about not receiving a response from someone you'd like to be actively talking to, you have to take a moment. step back from the conversation, put yourself in their shoes. perhaps they're busy with something right now. you have to consider the possibility that maybe they hanging upside down by their ankle. everybody has their own schedule, and sometimes people spend time away from their phone or computer because they are currently suspended from a tree branch by a rope tied around their ankle that they unnoticingly stepped in because it was concealed by a pile of leafs. it's not that they don't want to respond; imagine that they can see their phone screen on the ground below but it's a good few inches out of reach and even if they bounce and flail on the branch their fingertips just can't touch it. sometimes life gets in the way
tumblr user wrenhavenriver this is the best idea I've ever heard
if you have bpd and even thinking about not getting a response is causing you brain itch and hell meltdown i can strongly recommend exercise.
holy shit Long Long Man is gay i had no idea
for context:
this is a series of gummy commercials where it looks like the girlfriend is cheating on the boyfriend with this dashing dude who has longer gummies than him, and at the conclusion of the series of commercials after they get married and long man comes to the wedding it looks like the wife is going to leave with him but then long man confesses his love for the husband.
i love it.

itâs a ride
please watch this itâs honestly my favorite series of commercials ever
I just watched them all. This is the best.
This was fucking wild
opinion: more commercials need gay marriage
I havenât thought about Long Long Man in a long time and this brought back memories

You might be sexually attracted to that person ifâŠ
- You think sexual thoughts about the person out of nowhere
- You feel aroused upon seeing the person outside of a sexual setting
- You find yourself wondering what the person is like in bed and what their genitals look likeÂ
- You want to have sex with that person because your body is screaming for sex with that one person in particular.
- Seriously though if youâre already horny and that person is there you will feel all hot and sexually aroused and might drool a bit and fantasies of doing X-rated things to that person will fly through your mind and your body will literally be screaming for that person to take you or for you to take that person. Even just thinking about that person while horny can do this to you.
- TMI but if you get off while fantasizing about you having sex with that person, the orgasms can be absolutely mind-blowing and may even give you leg cramps.
- You really do âjust know.â
You might not be sexually attracted to that person ifâŠ
- You make a conscious effort to fantasize about sex with that person, mainly to see if you actually want to
- You feel aroused during a sexual situation, but that arousal has more to do with the activities instead of the specific person. Alternatively, you just donât feel aroused at all.
- You feel aroused at random, but itâs directed towards no one
- You want to have sex with that person because you want to make them happy or are just horny and want to get off with a partner or want babies or want money or literally any other reason aside from your body screaming for sex with that one person in particular.
- TMI but if you try to get off while fantasizing about you having sex with that person, you may get bored and start thinking of other things. Or, you may start fantasizing about that person doing sexual things that donât involve you in which case aegosexual might be worth looking into.
- You just donât know.
If the âyou might be sexually attractedâ list boggles your mind, you are possibly asexual.
If the âyou might not be sexually attractedâ list boggles your mind, you are possibly not asexual.
If you can relate to the âmight not be sexually attractedâ list, but also feel like youâve experienced some of the things on the âmight be sexually attractedâ list, it may be worth checking out some acespec identities.
(Disclaimer: This is strictly based off of my own experiences as acespec and is meant to be a guide for people questioning sexual attraction. Overall, you know yourself best and Iâm not gonna tell you what youâre feeling or how to identify.)
These types of lists are always so helpful!
A big one too, I think is, you may fantasize, but the people in your fantasies are never YOU. Theyâre fictional characters or your OCs but theyâre never you specifically. And if they are itâs an idealized version of you.
That top list makes me realize Iâve never experienced any of that, itâs kinda like when I stumbled into an ask Reddit about what sexual attraction felt like and I went âyeah, I have never felt THAT way and whatever I feel isnât sexual attractionâ
here it is, the info Iâve always wanted to see, breaking down attraction vs not-attraction in intense, analytical detail
Hereâs a few more for aces who do experience aesthetic attraction and who arenât repulsed, because goodness knows these are the ones that confused me when I was figuring things out. If you have sexual fantasies that involve things being in a certain situation or having things done to you, but you arenât visualizing anything or imagining specific people, you might not experience sexual attraction
If youâve ever had the thought âmasturbation is better than sex because it is more efficient and skips the boring bits,â you might not experience sexual attraction.
If you find someone attractive, but the thought of seeing them with their clothes off isnât more attractive, it probably isnât sexual attraction. (A naked body is just a naked body. But people are so lovely when in a look theyâve picked out to express themselves.)
If you occasionally notice body parts considered sexual and think they look nice, but do not want to do anything sexual related to those parts, it might not be sexual attraction. (I will occasionally think someone has nice boobs or a nice butt, and I assumed that was sexual attraction for a long time. But Iâve learned that for allo people, thinking those things leads to them having a response of âtherefore I want to tap thatâ which is absolutely baffling to me. Also, again, those thoughts donât lead to âand therefore I want to see them without clothing.â
If your response to something that seems to be making others horny is very similar to your response to those videos of âoddly satisfyingâ things, it might not be sexual attraction.
Oh fuck I might be ace
isn't it insane though how schizophrenic people are viewed as violent and dangerous by the majority of society when in reality schizophrenic people are nearly 14 times more likely to be on the receiving end of violence than to be the perpetrators...
schizophrenic person: makes a post trying to raise awareness about the disproportionate abuse and harmful stereotypes schizophrenic people face
yall: "yeah im not gonna reblog this they used the word ins*ne which is so problematic ://"
What the fuck happens that changes these stats to such a massive degree?
1) schizophrenia hardly ever causes people to be violent so schizophrenic people arenât more likely to be violent than anyone else
2) schizophrenic peopleâs autonomy is often taken away from them because of their schizophrenia. because the authorities and mental healthcare providers often automatically assume schizophrenic people to be violent, theyâre more likely to immediately react to schizophrenic people's symptoms with violence, without even knowing for sure said schizophrenic person was going to be violent. all of this causes schizophrenic people to be more likely of being victims of violence and abuse. schizophrenic people also have a harder time getting out of abusive households because of the risk of their autonomy being taken away. if a schizophrenic personâs relative or partner is abusive, often the schizophrenic person has no way out of the situation, both because our disconnect from reality can result in us being easier to manipulate, and because the system is built in a way that it takes away our autonomy because of our condition.
also schizophrenic people and psychotic people in general, please do a lot of research before picking a provider for your own sake, and if they try to treat your psychosis in a way that you think is harmful then donât hesitate to switch providers. your safety and wellbeing should be a priority over everything else.
can y'all please reblog this version instead
this is really important so iâm posting it here because itâll probably get removed and the original poster may be banned, but this is literal documentation and proof that terfs and transphobes are directly connected to the far-right and have roots in racism, homophobia, misogyny, and antisemitism. it really is all part of the same oppressive system, so there is no disconnecting transphobia from conservatism. there is no such thing as a progressive transphobe as much as they may want you to believe. it has nothing to do with biology or protecting women or children, none of it is founded in science or logic, it is purely hatred and and attempt to justify bigotry.

I got radicalized into the far-right on TikTok. Well, technically I didnât, but an account that I made did, and this is a graph of what that looked like. I just published this study, and Iâll link it in the comments, but Iâll also break it down right now, here.
So I wanted to examine whether or not transphobia is a gateway prejudice that leads to like, broader far-right radicalization. Itâs been pretty clear for a while now that the far-right is transphobic, but we wanted to see whether being transphobic alone was enough to lead you to the far right.
So I made a brand new TikTok account and followed 14 creators known to post transphobic content. Then I started scrolling my âFor Youâ page, and I started exclusively engaging with transphobic content, and I documented the main narratives of the more than 400 videos recommended to me. We also double-blind coded this, meaning that another researcher also watched every video and coded the narratives, and then if we ever disagreed, more researchers would come in and perform a tie-breaker. Once we removed sponsored videos and videos that had been taken down before they could be double-coded, we were left with 360 videos.
Of the 360 total videos, 103 were homophobic or anti-trans, 42 were misogynistic, 29 contained racist narratives or white supremacist messaging, and 14 endorsed violence. Obviously, TikTok didnât just like give us neo-nazi content immediately. I actually didnât get my first Nazi symbol until video 141. But the more I interacted with transphobic content, the more I was fed not only more transphobic content, but also homophobia and misogyny and racism and antisemitism. So I didnât actually have to interact with racist content to be fed white supremacist content, I just had to engage with transphobic content.
What you see in this graph is the TikTok algorithm starting off with a normal feed â memes, recipes, whatever â and then going âOHH, youâre transphobic! Have you tried hating the gays? What about women?â
So, it appears that transphobia can radicalize a TikTokker.
Around video 400, youâll notice an interesting spike in far-right figures, hate symbols, antisemitism and calls to violence. Thatâs when I reached fascist TikTok and set my phone on fire. 400 videos might sound like a lot, but if a user watches each video for an average of 20 seconds, they would end up watching 400 videos in just over 2 hours. So, a user could basically download the app at breakfast and be fed the overtly white supremacist, neo-nazi content before lunch.

Thatâs not good!

autumn is really like. i brought you some sunlight from when you were 10. didn't the world feel so bright to you then? i'll drench your hands in syrupy nostalgia, so everything you make is stained bittersweet. i'll ruffle your hair with an ice-kissed breeze--it'll be the kindest touch you've had in years. you finally feel like a part of something grander. i'm the last warm hand you hold before winter surrender.
For Autism Acceptance Month, I felt the urge to focus on Quinnâs terrible experience with applied behavior analysis (ABAÂ therapy), which many autistic children were/are subjected to. For Quinn, this lead to masking, self harm, and overwhelming stress growing up. Because of her need to protect Claudette from this abuse, she was finally able to understand that her own autism wasnât a bad thing and taught her daughter the same.
Misinformed and ablest societies are the reason why autistic people call for acceptance rather than awareness. We donât need a cure, we need understanding and resources that actually help us rather than those that stigmatize and try to change us.Â

Brandon Taylor is great.
while brandon taylor is p cool, actually stopping to address like half of these would bog your story down in some of the most fantastically pointless, reader unfriendly, and unnecessary detailing ever written since the silmarillion was slapped down on the intake desk at george allen & unwin, and amounts to little more than pedantic nerd-flexing, âhow did they agree on a systematised measure of timeâ? are you KIDDING ME?? more like how the fuck could you possible convince your read that yes, it matters, please donât go, just another 500 words on my in-universe âmathematics in the context of social sciencesâ textbook that my illiterate character happened to be thumbing through. itâs important to work on your world building, obviously, but there is a pretty hard limit to what you need to show your reader, and when you cross that line, unless you happen to be the reincarnated soul of terry pratchett, it becomes flabby, boring, and distracting from the actual story. YES to getting rid of senseless misogynistic tropes and putting more effort into crafting your story, NO to including the fucking ancestral migrations of horses.
Like itâs great to address a lot of these, but honestly, unless itâs a key part of explaining major plot points, it belongs in like your unseen Bible of Your Worldâą or as fridge logic for the reader.
Sometimes, suspension of disbelief is the way to go so as to get on with the fucking story.
Yeah, @brood-mother mentions the Silmarillion, but critically Tolkien did not publish the Silmarillion (his son published it after his death). Tolkien wrote the Silmarillion for him, and then drew from its lore when he was writing the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. Which is the right way to do it, if you want your Lore to get that granular. YOU have the master copy of the all the background shit, and you can have one of your characters bust out singing part of the Song of Beren and LĂșthien if it becomes relevant. But not if it gets in the way of the story being told.
And if people DO get that invested in your lore later, then thatâs still a different book.
And some of those are not good points, thanks. Thereâs a reason for feminist stories about women disguising themselves as men to be warriors. Itâs fucking historical fact that women did that. For millenia. Do we also need stories in which women just get to be warriors? Yes. But FFS, a story is not automatically antifeminist for using that trope. And as long as male specfic fans keep saying that women canât do things like pass as male warriors, we will continue to need both factual stories and fictional ones about women doing those things. Also, peasants can have a few high-quality goddamn sheep and make their own few outfits. Not that any fantasy novel Iâve ever read says anything about everyone having high quality wool. Thick oak forests can grow in places with cold winters as long as they have warmer (but not necessarily very warm) summers, and continue to exist because they are fucking vast and nobodyâs had time to cut them all down, and sometimes when theyâre less vast because theyâre protected by the crown and nobodyâs allowed to cut them down. The same soil that makes for good forest doesnât necessarily make for good farmland, especially right after itâs been forest. Some of these things have good story reasons. Some of them are based on things that have good historical or physical reasons.
Not saying he has no good points. He does. But some of this list is bullshit. And, as has been pointed out, you canât actually include most of this shit.
As a worldbuilder who is currently dealing with âattempting SOME SORT of logical economy (ironically for The Fair Folk who have magic) because I want to see a ruler who actually RULES, and her unwilling adventures get in the way,â working out the nitty-gritty details of the culture and environment and religion is both fascinating and tedious as shit!
âWho domesticated that wheat youâre making into your bread?â Bitch, I donât know that about our world! It happened at least seven thousand years ago, probably closer to twice that, and Iâm not even convinced I know where (was it the fertile cresent?)
If I, a person with access to the internet and a decent interest in history, cannot answer that, why should a random character in a fantasy setting know that?
Hereâs a little information about Estrogen!â â â â Estrogen is a hormone we all naturally make, but different bodies make different amounts. No singular gender identity is required for estrogen-based GAHT! But most commonly it is prescribed to trans women, transfeminine, nonbinary, and intersex folks. â â â â â â Estrogen, testosterone blockers or androgen blockers, and progesterone are the large groups of therapies that are typically used in estrogen-based GAHT. Each group of medications can be administered in a variety of dosages and routes. â â
