#Maintenance Day: We #designed and #installed this garden about two years ago and it has only needed #trimming twice and occasional #weeding in that time. First photo is the finished garden after trimming, weeding, cleaning and a pre-emergent weed #treatment, the weed treatment #prevents to a degree #weed #seeds germination for several months making it possible to better control weeds as time goes on. Meaning #clients get to enjoy their garden more often instead of weeding. Second photo is before we trimmed, cleaned and weeded. The image is the 'Man In The Maze' from the Tohono Odham people, a symbol about your choices in life ultimately the center is enlightenment. It seemed a fitting image to pair with the story below. An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life: “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. ”It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil–he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you–and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf will win?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.” (at Pasadena, California)
