was at the corner store getting a few snacks and a 7 year old with a single packet of two poptarts struck up a conversation with me while I was choosing between Chex mix flavors. weighed in on the flavors. They continued to follow me through the store all the way to checkout and stood there talking to me at the register so the cashier thought they were my kid and I finally said “are you possibly hoping for someone to buy those poptarts” and they pulled out a WAD of cash and said “nope just talking to ya.”
absolutely enchanting child no notes
energy of an 85 year old who got freaky friday’d tbh
Iconography
It kind of fucks with me that somebody killed ötzi the iceman because ötzi himself is like whatever but the silent presence of human hands that drew back the string of the bow that shot the arrow that killed him is crazy. the idea that there were various people involved in that situation and while one of them has had his last hours painstakingly reconstructed and studied to no end, the others now only exist insofar that an arrowhead had to get into his shoulder somehow. imagine killing someone and then suddenly your entire existence is only a vague shadow implied by the fact that you killed them. much to consider
Testing the mummified bone marrow of ötzi to figure out his ancestry whole time there’s definitely another person, maybe more than one, standing in the room with us but I can never see or speak to them because I only know them through the assurance that they were there too in the form of one single arrowhead. I hate prehistory so much it’s unreal
I hate it too tbh
I love reading Letterboxd reviews from people who have a pet issue that completely dominates their critical lens. posting shit like "Babe 2: Pig in the City does not do nearly enough to refute the myth of the nuclear family. 1-and-a-half stars"
This is my favorite letterboxd review:
SHAPE HELL
Yup.
SHAPE HELL 2
Damned to love once
Will have a bit of time on my hands in the coming weeks/months. Hope you’re all well.

Here's the whole thing, not just the chopped part.
its it's important to lie in bed and make yourself as scared as possible all the time
Sorry man I can't come out tonight. I'm gonna lie in the dark taking stimulants and switching between social media news feeds until I feel like throwing up.
Stress yourself out until you need to smoke to sleep. Get crossfaded on an empty stomach. Find people panic-reposting screenshots of deceptively worded New York Times headlines and get into fights over aeticles you haven't read. The garden must be cleansed and you are the firey sword of god.
Every time you think about spending time with your loved ones in real life; don't. It's important that you post simmering reactions to probably overblown political news for everyone to see. Go limp and check your notifications for another hour.
Pro Tip: Think up all the ways you could die and hyper-focus in on what they will feel like in your last seconds of life.
"came back wrong" but it's more explicitly + intentionally about medical and/or caregiver abuse
came back wrong in the sense that the person who revived you subtly or even obviously changed aspects of your appearance to conform better to their concept of beauty, but no one else notices, or thinks that you look better like this anyway so they don't care and are even jealous of you. came back wrong in the sense that you never consented to be brought back; don't know who dressed you like this and arranged your body in the position that you woke up in; it feels like a violation that no-one will admit to. came back wrong in that everyone is so smotheringly protective of you now; won't let you take even minor risks or "abuse" your newly-revived body with substances and poor lifestyle choices.
Just to clarify, there's a bill that would STOP credit card companies from controlling who's allowed to spend money on porn or "risque" (read: queer) content. If you don't think big business should be able to tell you what to spend your own damn money on, call your senators and reps to let them know! It's the Fair Access to Banking Act, H.R.987 in the House, S.410 in the Senate.
Banks and credit cards should not be in the business of making moral judgments about what their customers spend their money on. Their job is to facilitate transactions, period. If it's not illegal, then they should have no say on who buys guns or porn or junk food or any other thing somebody might decide is objectionable.
this is an american bill about american companies that, as usual, effects people worldwide. if you're statesian, here's a chance to make something decent of it- put pressure on your politicians to pass this bill and protect queer porn and art, especially transfeminine porn and art!

itch is removing all of their adult games now
Oh things are fucking dire huh. There won't be any storefronts left
Oh so this is NEW news. Posted an hour ago???
Fucking hell this is bleak.
this was linked in the linked thread so i thought it would be worth sharing, this is more than likely related to the policies being enforced by Visa & Mastercard (the same reason for what’s happening with Steam), so to anyone in the US please consider signing this petition being put forward by the ACLU:
Mastercard's new policy unfairly targets the adult content industry, making sex workers more vulnerable, especially Black trans women. It mu
