First of all, no.
Second, this is not the only time Iâve seen Dramione (incorrectly) explained away like this, and I just have to ask HOW??? How the actual fuck does a skinny, pointy-faced, Prefect chosen by Albus Dumbledore who is scared of most things and cries in the bathroom and runs to his father to fix everything for him so much to the point his line âMy father will hear about this!â has become iconic put you in mind of a bad boy???? How??? Because, and maybe Iâm crazy, nothing about the above description puts me in mind of a leather-wearing drug-doing rule-breaking biker gang leader. It just doesnât.
Draco was a racist snob, and while he will probably always be the latter to some extent, one of the many reasons people ship Dramione is how Hermione would completely obliterate the former. She is living breathing proof that everything Draco was raised to believe is complete and utter bs. She would help him break free of this world of darkness and isolation he feels trapped in. She would help him learn how to healthily feel and cope with his emotions. She would be his safe place where he knows he will not be viewed as a failure for his shortcomings. She would love and accept him as he is while simultaneously helping him to become the best version of himself.
But itâs not only Draco who would benefit from them being together; Hermione would finally have an intellectual match. Think of the banter, the deep conversations, the being with someone who challenges her. Also, because Draco has felt so much for so long and finally knows how to healthily deal with that, he would understand how to take care of Hermione when sheâs overwhelmed. Think of how nice it would be for our favorite little muggleborn witch to come home after a rough day at work and know her husband is up for lavishing her with a fancy dinner because he would spend the world on her if only sheâd allow or curling up on the window seat with a good book because they both appreciate literature or making love because their passion oh my, whatever she needs in that moment. Finally being understood.
So, no, we donât ship Dramione bc âgood girl and bad boy blah blah blah shitâ. Nice try, though.

He must have known Sirius well due to his time in the Order, he must have known what James meant to Sirius. Dumbledore was a member of the freaking Wizengamot yet he didnât fight the Ministryâs horrifying trial-optional policy.Â
This is a man who took back Death Eater!Snape at his word, shielded him from prison, and employed him at a school for children.Â
But he didnât have a use for Sirius, so he didnât care about him.
I got 99 problems with Dumbledore and his treatment of Sirius Black accounts for like 64 of them. Â
To be honest, Albus Dumbledore is one of the most disturbing, terrifying characters Iâve ever found in a book, because he thought he was a good guy and so did everyone else and the books donât really challenge it either (given that Harry forgives him for everything he did), but when you look between the lines he was profoundly, profoundly immoral and unethical.
A couple of months ago, I was talking about HP characters with a friend, and he said that Dumbledore was one of his least favorite characters of all time.
Naturally, this took me back a bit since heâs one of the heroes of the series, misguided as he was at times. Still, I was curious and asked my friend why he hated him. His answer still strikes a chord with me.
