100% TRUE
Pro tip: If you copy and paste a link that said “no free articles” into a private/incognito browser, it will let you read the whole thing.
also if u press the “esc” (escape) key on ur laptop before the page fully loads, it won’t load any pop-ups blocking u from reading. if the article has images, then this method sometimes does not u see them. but! the words will be fine :)
If the site is particularly badly designed, you might just be able to delete the overlay itself. Right click > Inspect element and delete the line of HTML (it’ll be highlighted automatically)
hey kids there is a website called outline.com that will let you read from pretty much any news site with a paywall for free
I saw this tumblr post and HAD to draw it, please accept my humble A:TLA offering.
S’up, Original Poster here!
I will be drawing more A:TLA comics, if you want to encourage me, I have a ko-fi and a webcomic, please check it out!

A list of my favorite POC/international cooking channels, if you no longer want to support Bon Appetit:
De Mi Rancho A Tu Cocina: an an abuela from Michuacan shows you how to make DELICIOUS rancho food and occasionally shows you scenes from around the rancho.
Doña Lupita: Another abuela, this time from Guerrero, making incredible-looking food over a comal
Simply Mamá Cooks: Tejano woman with a Korean-American husband makes recipes from both cultures, great for classic easy-to-make weeknight comfort food recipes, too
Li Ziqi: a real-life Disney princess from Sichuan who shows you how to make sauce with duck egg yolks, starting with hatching the ducks that lay the eggs
Dianxi Ziaoge: another Chinese farm girl, she shows you her idyllic life in rural Yunnan as she makes food with her HUGE RIDICULOUS FUFFYBOI, Dawang, often joining her on adventures
Wild Girl: Yet another Chinese farm girl, this time from Guizhou, who has a little bit more of an emphasis on cooking with food foraged from her gorgeous surroundings
Catch The Sea Official: A young woman living in the fishing city of Rizhao, foraging her own seafood and then cooking it up. I could watch her squeeze the water out of cat’s eye turban snails all day.
Cooking with Sros, Sros Yummy Cooking Vlog: Sros makes delicious Cambodian food with a warm, sunny personality and a great accent!
Am Thuc Me Lam: A son who videos his mother farming and cooking in rural Vietnam
Traditional Me: Young woman in rural Sri Lanka lives with her grandmother and brother, makes incredible looking food set to jaunty music with lush scenery
Village Cooking Channel: Five VERY ENTHUSIASTIC Tamil men make large batches of food for their local old age home.
Veg Village Food: Pakistani granny makes huge batches of vegetarian food for local needy children.
Desi Food Recipes: Soothing Indian granny shows you how to make classic Desi dishes in non-giant size proportions
Maangchi: The Julia Child of Korean food, everyone fucking loves Maangchi
Jun’s Kitchen: Japanese guy makes food with his cats, what’s not to love?
i also really like Future Neighbor and 꿀키honeykki ! they both make (mostly) korean food and future neighbor’s are more instructional while honeykki’s are more ~aesthetic~

A quick translation:
Dude: OK, guys, let’s assign the disasters. Hum, tsunami. Who wants the tsunami?
2004: Yeah, I’ll have the tsunami.
Dude: OK, 2004 has the tsunami. 2012, do you still want the asteroid?
2012: Nah, no need.
Dude: Cool, let’s schedule that for 2030. OK, 2020, I have-
2020: FIRES.
Dude: OK, we can do fires, no problem-
2020: NUCLEAR TENSION.
Dude: Fires and… nuclear tension?
2020: PANDEMIC.
Dude: 2020, you can’t just- just have EVERYTHING-
2020: KOBE BRYANT DIES IN A HELICOPTER ACCIDENT.
1986: Wh-who’s Kobe Bryant?
1347: Heli-what?
Dude: So, you’re asking for fires, nuclear tension, a pandemic AND the death of basketball legend in your year!?
2020: TILL MARCH.
Dude: C’mon. Guys, help me with this.
1986: I would say something, but… CHERNOBYL! Oops, am I right?
2014: At least you still have the twin towers.
2000: Wait, what do you mean?
1347: I agree that 2020 is pushing it-
1945: YOU’RE LITERALLY- You’re the high point of the Bubonic plague!
1347: Oh, much apologies, Sir TWO ATONIC BOMBS!
1945: It’s ATOMIC, you f*ing medieval-
1347: Who are you calling medieval, G.I. Joe. Go play with your-
1945: Here we go again-
2000: Now, seriously, what-
1: Y’all want BREAD?!
1347, with a funny accent: Look at me! I have ME.DI.CI.NE.
the comedic timing really carries even when you don’t speak the language
love using “u” and “you” in the same sentence. variety is the spice of life and boy is it sexy

Finding love as a transgender person
Marianne Oakes has shared an amazing collection of transgender love stories over at GenderGP.
Here are a few of them.
Marianne wrote:
The myth that trans people struggle to find love is damaging to our future generations, if trans youth or worse still, their parents believe this, then the impact can be loss of hope. My experience is pretty much like all the lovely comments here, let’s stop the myth, xx
More here!
These stories help so much. Not just because of the trans people find love just like everyone else, which is an important message on its own, but because there are some stories of other people who didn’t know since they were kids and this is so fucking reassuring!!!

„Just sharing: I came out to my wife before we were married aged 19. Last December we celebrated 36 years of Marriage. Being trans does not stop us finding love, trans youth need to hear this, other couples need to hear this. Feel free to share your love story to help others, xx“
tweet by user naomi_t_81 in reply to OakesMarianne:
„Our 15th year together, the 4th since i started transitioning. It hasn’t been easy but I love this woman more each day and work to be the best possible version of myself always.“ with a picture of the couple smiling at the camera attached.
tweet by user Odessa_Genysis in reply to OakesMarianne:
„My wife came out almost two years ago, at age 35. She had no idea she was trans until I jokingly had her try on my Halloween costume and things unfolded from there. We’ve been together 5 years and I don’t plan on letting her go. 💜“
tweet by user Crow_Eira in reply to OakesMarianne:
„Told my fiancé „what if I‘m a guy?“ a few years back. I was crying and scared. He said „then you’re a guy.“ We are now married and I‘m a guy.“
tweet by user amberjay85 in reply to OakesMarianne:
„I came out to my wife the week of our 6th wedding anniversary and we only become stronger in the nearly 2 years since then as I no longer have to hide this part of who I am.“ with a picture of the couple smiling at the camera attached.
tweet by user Yarrlrene in reply to OakesMarianne:
„I came out to my future wife on our second date. It turned out not to be the showstopper I feared. 19 years of marriage, three kids and a transition later and we‘re still awesome together.“
tweet by user our_trans_life in reply to OakesMarianne:
„After being married to my lovely wife Kelly for 10 years, I found the strength to come out to her. Now 15 months later, we are stronger and happier than ever before. We are closer and more connected than I could have ever imagined. This is all thanks to Kelly for being amazing.“

day 1: travelling! (to disneyland)
i knew right from the get go that i wanted to draw the girls together!! yes, that includes mikoshiba, who is the one taking the photo
Where does he keep finding them????
bonus Apollo and Ema lol
literally nothing will ever be more pure than the way sokka yells “SUKI” every time he sees his gf and runs right into her arms. i love that.
thinking about how good friendship is…..like two people just like each other….and choose over and over to spend time with each other……quite special how diverse human relationships are..every friendship is special and u cant be close friends with everybody…..for some unknown reason certain people just enjoy each other..and i think we take for granted how fantastic that is
C S Lewis talks about how friendship is actually perhaps the greatest form of human love because it’s two people choosing to spend time together not because they have to or have any specific physical draw to each other, but purely because they just enjoy each other’s company and this is it.
