Midnight Gospel
You cry.
Some things I took away from watching The Midnight Gospel:
The pain you feel when someone dies is all the love you had for them
When someone dies they might leave but the love between you and them won’t go anywhere, it is still in you
Be in the moment, be present
You can approach anything the universe throws at you with a bitter “okay, fine”
Hope can cause you the most pain
If someone dies in your home, sit with the body for a bit
Cry, always allow yourself to cry
Love means how happy you can make another person
Feel your body, just feel it
Weed is good
Sleep
concept: we grow together continually, find strength in each other, and push each other to be the best version of ourselves.

I read somewhere that keanu was ambidextrous

The Oldest Student: How Mary Walker Learned to Read (2020)
Imagine learning to read at the age of 116! Discover the true story of Mary Walker, the nation’s oldest student who did just that, in this picture book from a Caldecott Honor-winning illustrator and a rising star author.
In 1848, Mary Walker was born into slavery. At age 15, she was freed, and by age 20, she was married and had her first child. By age 68, she had worked numerous jobs, including cooking, cleaning, babysitting, and selling sandwiches to raise money for her church. At 114, she was the last remaining member of her family. And at 116, she learned to read. From Rita Lorraine Hubbard and rising star Oge More comes the inspirational story of Mary Walker, a woman whose long life spanned from the Civil War to the Civil Rights Movement, and who–with perseverance and dedication–proved that you’re never too old to learn.

Y'all need to look up what this dude did. He was too tired to drive on his way to a match so he let a black hitchiker drive for him, then when he got to the arena walked in with his arm around him to the boos of the crowd, which he decided to embrace and make worse by kissing the guy on the cheek. He then went whole hog into the persona hanging out in black neighborhoods, going to black bars, and getting arrested on petty charges then going to court after hiring a black lawyer paying his fine and then doing it all over again. Wrestling was not as popular and the viewing was segregated but the promoters were only selling about half capacity for the white section while the black section was sold out and people were still clamoring in to see him but they couldn’t because of segregated arenas. The owners of the arenas and the promoters eventually decided that business is business and started slowly desegregating their theatres and every time this guy showed up they were selling out all their seats, to the point where this guy and one other held the record for attendance that held until the late 80’s/early90’s.

Okay but for anyone who legit wants to know how to calculate it correctly:
The elbow joint on average rests a couple inches higher than the navel, so if you measure how long the distance is from the middle of the shoulder to that point then you have the length of the upper and fore arms!
So if anyone’s wondering about legs too, the simplest rule of thumb is that the length from the top of the leg to the knee is equal to the distance between the top of the leg and the bottom of the pectorals:
And I wanna stress that when i say “top of the leg” i’m not talking about the crotch (please don’t flag me tumblr it’s an anatomical term) i’m talking about the point where the femur connects to the pelvis, which is higher up on the hips:
It’s easier to see what I’m talking about in this photo of a man squatting:
So yeah if you use that measurement when using this technique you should get fairly realistically proportioned legs:
But remember! messing with proportions is an important and fun part of character design! Know the rules first so you can then break them however you please!
HOW THE HELL DID I FIND THIS POST OMG
Licherally in the midst of drawing a guy and crying at how bad the arms are. Thanks Tumbles
I only ever saw the part where people started drawing the limbs outrageously long and genuinely wanted to know how to fix that, so I’m really thankful to see the rest.
