Silksong impressions
"Weakened by unfamiliar seals" girl you just have low blood sugar /j
the way Martha and Johnathan Kent in Superman 2025 are just two ordinary farmers from the midwest
they're older, they struggle with their phones, their home is run down and their farm humble, they're not Hollywood looking, they have accents and kind smiles
the way Clark calls them Ma and Pa
these two found Clark as a baby in a field, they looked past their fear and saw a baby that needed love and they gave him that love, they did everything they could for Clark
they gave him love
and the Clark we see? he's a reflection of them, of hope and love and what it means to be human
they dont have a lot of screen time but they left an impact that you feel through the film
they're not Kal-El's parents, but they are Clark Kent's parents
I know it just came out but Benoit Blanc’s clear visceral reaction talking about his parents and especially his mother being very religious and not getting along with them while standing in the church talking to a priest and trying to get back into his Benoit Blanc-groove where he’s comfortable again just broke my heart right from the damn get go
he said, lying
posting some older art as well. where my critters at??
More plug!Nikolai
Nikolai has a nice apartment. Or is it a condo? He seemed to imply he owns it, but you’re not sure. He sure as hell doesn’t act like a renter. Says he’s changed out the fixtures and repainted the walls over the years.
The place is full of neat little things. Beautiful antiques. Collectibles. And a lot of them are like you— someone wanted what he had but couldn’t pay, so he offered a trade. It’s how he got the Tiffany lamp that hangs above the breakfast nook. The beautiful solid wood canopy bed frame. The sweet little canary in his parlor— Lizaveta. The large, intricate antique quilt folded over the back of his sofa.
And from how he looks at all of them, keeps them neat and nice, you get the sense that he took them because he wanted them, yes, but more so that they weren’t being appreciated. Some things he has pictures of when they first came home with him— of dusty stained glass and brittle pinfeathers.
You wonder what you must look like now and what you’ll look like in a year.
You’ve been getting a lot of calls you haven’t been picking up. Nikolai doesn’t seem to mind. He gets a lot of calls like that too.
Flowey as Jax in anticipation to the new episode this week. I'm so scared.
Friendly reminder:
May and Peter blipped separately. When May came back, she came back to an apartment that wasn't hers, with no idea if her nephew was dead or alive or even where he was and if he got snapped too. She didn't know until hours later when he came back with a haunted look in his eyes.
