DANHENG IL SPOTTED 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨
The way Scaramouche said Dottore's name in the trailer had me feeling ALL TYPES OF WAYS
I'm so glad he's getting more attention in the updates
The Tree's Branches Look Familiar
So in the 3.3 trailer, we saw this Irminsul with very interesting branches.
It feels like Genshin uses these kinds of lines whenever they show something that's seeping in.
1. Leonard's will (Unreconciled Stars)
This cutscene shows the backstory of Leonard, an adventurer who lived around 2000 years ago. Among all the mountains he tried to climb, he only failed to conquer Pilos Peak. It used to be a tall mountain, but due to Barbatos' terraforming on Mondstadt, it became the Musk Reef we see now (yes, the island with the Spiral Abyss Portal).
Though he failed to reach the peak, Leonard was not disheartened. He then designed and invented the Wings of Incompletion, the very first wind glider, hoping that someday someone will finally reach Pilos Peak at last.
Leonard's will was so strong that meteorites from his constellation descended onto Mondstadt and Liyue during the Unreconciled Stars event (1.1). Anyone who touches the meteories all fell into a deep sleep and dreamed the same dream: climbing Pilos Peak (with the exception of Scaramouche, who dreamed about the "fake sky" and was able to wake himself up).
2. Zhongli reaching out to Azhdaha (Zhongli Story Quest Act 2)
This cutscene features the beginnings of Azhdaha, back when he was still a stone deep underground. He had yet to see the light on the surface, so Rex Lapis answered his wishes: "I bestowed him with a pair of eyes to see the world."
I assume that the yellow lines here represent Rex Lapis' Geo energy seeping through the bedrock...quite reminiscent of how he saved Xiao from falling into the Chasm's chaotic space (Perilous Trail cutscene).
3. Forbidden knowledge (Sumeru Archon Quest Act 4)
Lastly, this cutscene showed us how forbidden knowledge seeped into the world, plaguing King Deshret's ancient civilization. It is said that forbidden knowledge was "not from this world."
When King Deshret brought this knowledge, Eleazar spreaded for the first time, people would hear crazed whispers in their mind, and the land lost its vigor.
In Conclusion...
It's interesting to see that the lines from Cutscene #2 and #3 flowed downwards while those from #1 and the Irminsul's branches pointed upwards. But that's probably from our perspective 👀
AUGFTGHJ PLEASE TELL ME IM NOT DUMB FOR ONLY JUST REALIZING THIS
BUT IF SCARA IS WIPING HIS TEARS WHEN HE GETS HIS VISION (HIS NEW HEART) THEN ITS A PARALLEL TO WHEN HE WAS CRYING WHEN HE FIRST GOT THE GNOSIS
Two Little birds.💙🐦
Predictions for Sumeru Archon Quest Interlude
This is based on the 3.3 trailer, livestream and previous lore - I don't know any story leaks and I don't wanna hear them.
I think that we're going to start the quest having gotten a message from either Nahida or Cyno or Al Haitham, and basically find out that Scara (I'm not calling him Wanderer lol) has woken up but has no memories. I think this is the direction for a few reasons; it's at least believable considering the head trauma from that fall and the gnosis being torn from him. I also don't think Harbinger!Scara would willingly help Nahida, regardless of the circumstances.
Besides, in the trailer we find out that this quest is about retrieving knowledge on Tatarasuna(?) from Irmunsul with Scara. Now, there's no reason to take Scara unless he's got some sort of info we don't have, but why wouldn't he just tell us that info if he's willingly helping us anyway? No memories. This then ties with the Haypasia tangent from the archon quest, that Dottore wanted her in Fatui custody because she had seen Scara's memories and therefore knew too much. I doubt she recalls those details now, but the traveller would probably be curious to find out info that the Fatui want kept secret.
So we go to Irmunsul with Scara and sort through his memories. In the trailer these flash by in reverse order, ending with Ei, which could be the order in the quest too. But that would mean starting with Fatui stuff...
Oh btw. I believe that the scene where Dottore is addressing the Jester is a memory from when he recruited Scara, since the scenery is of Inazuma. But I don't think every Dottore line is a memory, since he also seems to be threatening Scara in the present - we still haven't seen Dottore burn Irmunsul, so he could very well have come back to Sumeru after dropping off the gnoses in Snezhnaya.
I'm assuming that once Scara has relived his memories, he'll have regained a bit more of the bastard personality that we know and love. HOWEVER I think he will also gain some more perspective on himself, and there will be some tear jerking stuff with his Ei or Kaedehara memories that make him appreciate humanity etc etc, or we'll help him realise that Dottore has been manipulating him for literal centuries. Thus, the Traveller and Scaramouche will be on civil terms as they continue on to figure out the mystery they went there to solve.
I think we'll get the knowledge , but it'll be out of context. Scara will be like 'omg I get it now' and it'll be a mad rush to return to Nahida to share it, but... Within Scara's mindscape/Irmunsul whatever, I think there will be another version of him (Balladeer) who's still really fucking mad and wants us dead. We have to fight the mech again, this time with our developed Scara, but defeating the Balladeer means destroying that part of Scara forever. Scara decides to, to become his own person.
My thought here is that destroying the Balladeer would get rid of all of Scara's memories of the Fatui, leaving his Inazuma backstory and general angry god complex intact. If he did remember all the Fatui secrets and he quit (as the trailer implies), then it would be difficult to justify why the Traveller doesn't get to learn all of that. Based on Wanderer's ( :( ) voicelines, his personality remains - but this doesn't mean he's completely the same person with a new fit.
I also think we'll see Scara receive his anemo vision, perhaps thanks to his decision to leave his Fatui self behind and carve a new path forwards.
LETS GO, GOT WANDERER 10 MINUTES INTO 3.3
AAHHHH OH MY WORD DID YALL SEE YET??
