passively suicidal traveler goes soo hard. they don't want to die necessarily, but they throw themselves into any fight they come across. they take hits for others no matter what. sometimes they're just a bit too slow to dodge a hit for no reason. besides, the traveler isn't exactly human, and harder to kill than most people, so it's just cost-benefit.

it doesn't matter if they die, and if they did, at least it'd be for a good cause. it's not like they have anything to live for, their twin clearly prefers khaenri'ah and no one else in teyvat even knows their name. their grave, if there will be one, won't even have a name on it. just "the traveler, a hero". because that's all they are to teyvat. everyone is content to use them and keep them in the dark while doing so. isn't it more acceptable for an outsider with no real personal connections to die anyway? they will probably forget about it in a couple years and move on.

there's always a wall separating traveler from everyone else, and there always will be. they will forever be looking in through the window, waiting outside at the door. but they will never enter the house. because, crucially, teyvat is not their home. no matter how they might try to convince themselves, they will always feel out of place. alien.

and isn't that precisely what they are? an alien?

they did use to have a home. but that person has found more important things to worry about. because the twin found a new home. the traveler, meanwhile, can only stay rooted in place, unable to move forward or backward, always alone. because to genuinely reach out to others would be to admit the truth, that their relationship with their sibling isn't as solid as they'd thought.

everybody talks about dain and abyss twin but never how much he's fond of the traveler (n paimon) too despite them barely calling each other "friends" (and i don't think it's due to dain projecting lingering attachment to the abyss twin onto them or whatever)

plus. not sure if there's a lot of faith to be held in paimon NOT spilling a secret but still. he trusts them... auggghhh

I'm going to be so honest if we ever make to the finale and genshin has us making choose between our sibling and paimon i will be watching a video where the player chooses paimon idgaf about our sibling. Like I'm sorry but I don't have any attachment to them they can do they're own thing. Paimon has been with us since day 1 bruh they've been more sibling to us then the abyss sibling ever been.
