God it's like. Imagine being the object of affection of a guy whose overactive imagination and romantic inner monologue never fails to amuse and awe you, and then it gets to a point where you even start to question your own feelings, only to find out later that he's been living for years with his feelings because those thoughts and unrealistic romantic scenarios are the only way he can ever indulge in his desires without inconveniencing you with them. I'd go insane.

im too tired and not in much mood lately for my long analysis posts but the moment in the cherry magic (thailand) finale where achi turns the closed sign to open really made my heart feel so warm and fuzzy. the symbolism of achi finally opening his closed off heart, fully accepting that his perceptions of the world around him were flawed, and adopting an open minded outlook for the future was just so fucking chef's kiss, beautiful, no notes.

cherry magic was truly a masterpiece and a gift from beginning to end. it was like a warm hug and i'm so thrilled it stuck the landing so spectacularly.

I love the way this show is showing us reasons why these two men are compatible. Why they like each other. So often in romance media the couple just like each other with no discussion of their compatibility. But these two are. The show gives us scenes showing them connecting through their similar likes. It's lovely.

Sweet Like Ice Cream

Sometimes, Karan misses when Achi could read his mind, his feelings feel too big to put into words if he has to say them out loud.

Like right now, watching Achi chase a melty trail of ice cream as it trickles down his fingers, and Karan is overwhelmed with the dueling feelings of bone deep love at how absolutely adorable his husband is, and an almost painful urge to take Achi’s hand and lick the sweet stickiness from his skin, to follow the path of would take down further and suck at the warm pulse in Achi’s wrist, to watch Achi watching him chase the taste of his skin under the mango and coconut.

Achi looks at him then, his hand still hovering in front of his face and an embarrassed smile teasing at his lips, and Karan thinks he could propose again right now.

Sometimes, Achi misses being able to read Karan’s mind, misses the reassurance of the constant stream of adoration he could hear when they touched. Not that Karan isn't more than generous with his words, but still, he misses it on occasion.

Just now though, he doesn't need to be able to read his mind to know what he's thinking, the way Karan is looking at him makes him shiver in a way that has nothing to do with the ice cream slipping between his fingers.

He vaguely notices Karan's own ice cream dish sitting half melted and clearly forgotten, and can't help but smirk, licking the back of his hand deliberately while watching Karan's eyes follow the movement.

“I think I'm done with this,” he says slowly, suppressing a laugh when Karan's eyes snap to his as though he's been caught at something naughty.

“O-oh? Are you sure?” Karan stutters out.

Achi reaches out with his clean hand and cups Karan's face, leaning in and bringing they're faces close enough that his breath fans against Karan's lips. “Let's go home, sweetheart.”

When Karan nods dazedly for a moment before scrambling to clean up, Achi doesn't bother hiding his laugh.

Pai: Achi, we can't find Karan anywhere.

Duj: He won't answer his phone either.

Achi: (sighs, cups his hands to his mouth and shouts) Achi of Toyokawa Company is spectacularly mediocre!
