⋱ ― ♱ . ROLL D20: TAKING CARE OF A FUSSY BABY (AKA BAKUGOU) ♱

Bakugou Katsuki is a hard guy to caregive for. He's stubborn, but thankfully with age he's gotten a bit better at communicating. You live together, roomies or something. And Bakugou has finally gotten to a place where he lets you see the little him. Fussier, more demanding, and messier. But full of playful energy and the cutest little guy when taking a nap.

You've spent all afternoon trying to get him to take a nap after a very busy morning of hero assignments. Ultimately, it burnt him out to the point of involuntarily regressing and having a tantrum. Uraraka and Kirishima had tried to calm him and offer some support, but he just stormed back to the apartment. You fixed him a snack while he showered and left a folded up ducky towel fresh from the dryer for him by the door.

You got him fed, gave him a warm bottle and turned on some cartoons that he insisted were too stupid to pay attention to (it's his favorite cartoon). You offer a nap, he refuses. It spirals into a fussy Bakugou trying to distract from taking a nap. Meal prep, cleaning, ironing, laundry, he goes till he finally collapses onto the couch. You subtly close the curtains, dim the lights and he drifts off to sleep after about ten minutes of mumbling that he isn't sleepy at all.

He's been asleep for thirty minutes. He's snoring. But your legs are sore from sitting on the couch for so long and you're craving a snack yourself. You have to get up....

1: Upon standing, the couch decides to make the loudest squeak it has ever made. Not only that but the doorbell for the lobby rings so painfully loud. There's a moment of stillness. And then Bakugou rises up from the couch with bedhead, a pout and eyes that could kill someone. You can smell the couch smoking under his hands.

2-10: You rise from the couch, and in the aftermath of silence you almost breathe a sigh of relief. And then the doorbell rings. It's echoing and your eyes widen. Bakugou stirs and sits up a bit, "The hell...." he grumbles but you tut softly. "Just the TV." You say as casually as possible. Bakugou flops back down onto the couch and his nap resumes. Your relief returns.

11-19: The couch gives a pathetic creak as you rise up. There is a small tense moment but Bakugou only turns over onto his side, eyes still shut in peaceful rest. You know he has a hard time sleeping after the war. You smile a bit at the sight of his face in a state of momentary comfort. You go to make yourself something to eat.

20: Your transition from the couch to the kitchen is heavenly. The apartment is quiet and still. The AC is softly blowing. You make yourself a snack and are able to feed yourself peacefully without a single sound. Bakugou sleeps for another 45 minutes and when he wakes up, he silently makes you dinner as a wordless thank you and eats his with a collector's All Might kids spoon Deku got him for Christmas.

hes already quiet, imagine you and him doing cute little activities!

hes absolutely captivated with rattles and stuffies and crinkle and have cool textures

he loves coloring and when he gets in the zone he sticks his little tongue out

hes sassy, always sticking his tongue out at you, too, about any little thing

he also gets fussy about little things he's doing like coloring in the lines or playing

hes a perfectionist even as a baby and doesnt like it when things are off! all his food has to be separated, he has to have the right utensils

and eventually after being fussy he becomes the clingiest little baby, the two of you laying down together and you reading him a story as he dozes off

xylo fobartz is a caregiver!

media: sentenced to be a hero! (2025)

we’ve recently caught up with the ongoing series “sentenced to be a hero” and have felt from the start that xylo would be a wonderful caregiver! a bit huffy on the outside he has a big heart and cares deeply for those in his care!

with his role as a hero xylo has learned to perfect the art of napping! whether he’s reading a bedtime story or expertly swaddling little ones in their favorite blankets xylo does all he can to help those he cares for get the best rest they can!

xylo is also incredibly resourceful, and often makes gifts, toys and tells stories using otherwise ordinary items! he’s quite good at making shadow puppets or telling stories!

xylo is quite knowledgeable and doesn’t mind (well most of the time) lots of questions and is always willing to find the answer to the few things he doesn’t know- he takes his little ones questions quite seriously!

as of right now (there’s only four episodes) we’d say that xylo is the primary caregiver for taoritta and dotta! we’ll probably revisit that as we learn more about them!

Summary:

Regressing isn't always easy, especially when the holidays come around. Though, with who Ghost calls his brothers, and the gentle hands of his caregiver, it makes it much easier. John Price carries his boys through the motions and gets everyone settled at home, far from base. Their Christmases are untraditional--since bringing Simon into their family--but it's their Christmas... The Littles find something just as interesting, right outside the window.

leo and mama both regress! leo is a baby and kitten regressor and mama is a toddler regressor!

leo is a sibling carer to his friends and unit but he gets a little fuzzy when it comes to taking care of himself, but not to fear mama’s always near!

mama’s safe/comfort foods are also his favorite foods, so it’s not too tricky to have something for snack time! mama also looks out for any nearby coffee when leo’s little knowing that his baby gets extra anxious with caffeine!

leo calls madara “mama or “mada” depending on how tiny he is/if he’s nonverbal or not! mama rarely lets anyone care for him when he’s small, but he calls those who do care for them by their names!

mama regresses after too much alone time, while leo regresses with too much time spent with others!

leo can regress for hours or days at a time, especially if mama’s taking care of him! mama regresses for shorter periods or before/after naps!

mama loves taking care of any regressors who share their small side with him, and tries to keep a softer voice when reading stories or singing lullabies! when mama’s tiny, he’s also pretty quiet!

leo ranges from being nonverbal when in baby-headspace to being hyper and talkative when in kitten/toddler space.

mama bought/buys most of leo’s little items as gifts for when he can’t be there to take care of him! leo bought mama a plushie that is his most cherished/ only little item.

the brilliantly talented wataru hibiki who collects various hobbies and talents to share with the little doves in his care,,,

when rei regresses he can sometimes have trouble sleeping, which prompts the ever enchanting wataru to do some intense research into lullabies and calming music,, leading his caregiver to purchase a kalimba- songs and snuggles ensue

after a particularly long day rei finds himself in the doorway of his blue-haired beloved, his eyes drifting to the instrument he’s playing with. “that sounds nice..” rei compliments, gently bringing himself closer and sitting on the bed. wataru hums, his tongue sticking out showing his focus on the matter “you think so?” wataru asks after a moment, looking up warmly at the very tired vampire.

rei mumbles out an agreeing sound, shifting himself by his carers side. wataru can't help but smile as he cards his hands through rei's soft hair before he returns to the tiny instrument in his hand- not without a soft whine from his little bat,, "i know sweetness" wataru reassures as he finally thinks of a melody to play "i'm here, i'm here, focus on the music my love, can you do that for me precious?" wataru coaxes gently as his fingers start to play one of rei's favorite tunes. within seconds rei is clinging to his carers side as his eyelids fluttering with every note "you can rest darling, i'm here- i'll always be here sweetheart" wataru coos softly over the music, his words having quick effect on the vampire as by the time wataru's finished the first piece rei's cuddled up and fallen into a deep, song filled sleep beside him.

wataru smiles to himself, gently placing the kalimba on his nightstand and pulling the blankets over the pair "goodnight little moon, rest well" he says as he too flutters into a peaceful sleep of his own....

oh this guy… this guy right here… he’s caregiver coded

he’s also regressor coded but we have to watch more of the media he’s from to get into that….

he’s a good caregiver to show what it means to be an “imperfect” caregiver, he’s not always going to have the right words to say or know exactly what to do when you/those in his care regress, but that doesn’t mean he’s not trying,, or that he’s being malicious it just means that he’s trying his best! and i think that’s really cool <3

• he’s great with stories, the ones you tell by the fireside or use your hands to make little shadow animals for… it’s amazing the animals he can come up with

• he’s insistent he’s not much of a singer but if you/those in his care ask him nicely enough he will sing a childhood lullaby of his and without fail you’ll both be asleep in minutes

• he is really soft with physical affection, letting you/those in his care hold his hand or hide against his chest when they need a hug (he gives really warm hugs)

* i use “imperfect” here because as he learns to be a caregiver he may make little mixups like offering you/those in his care an adult drink when you’re/they’re really asking for a bottle of milk or juice… or maybe he teases you/those in his care a little before realizing he’s making them go small- he’ll feel awful and try to make things right as soon as he can but that’s what i mean when i say “imperfect” i really just mean “human”…

[bonus] you/those in his care call him “teddy” as the caregiving title of choice, since he is (at least to me) very bear coded
