So this is something new! I don’t just write Resident Evil, I swear I have other interests! AHEM, so, considering what little I know of characters and of the story, I hope this prompt is up to snuff with everyone's expectations of said characters!
While discussing this bit with a friend for the past few days, we both came to the conclusion that similar to how a demon found its way to the RE Universe, a Plaga(or two) found its way to the DMC Universe! That or both universes are one in the same because of Netflix's DMC show(SEASON 2 MAY 12!!!) has ‘Bio-organic weapons’ and Enzo mentions the ‘Raccoon City job?’. Which…. Both situations are stupid funny so Imma let yall pick what you think!
Ping pings..... uh I guess I'll tag the normal people cause Idk if yall like DMC??? @polarspaz I know you do, but idk if @quasar-crew @hells-couch-potato @otaku-dragon-lover @sonicasura do.... so uh... enjoy??
“FUCKING SHIT!” Lady shrieked as she pulled on the handle of the trailer's little window, jolting her hand back as the Empusa’s claws swiped at her through the little crack. Even more were desperately trying to stick their claws in said crack.
“GET THE FUCK OFF MY TRUCK!” Nico screeched, jamming the little pistol that she had on her person through the window and blasted one of the Empusa’s in the face, only for it to immediately get replaced by another all the while slamming her foot repeatedly into the gas. Trish hissed, lightning dancing across her fingers as she resorted to stabbing another Empusa in its one to many eyes.
“Can’t you FUCKING ZAP THEM?!” Lady yelled, again yanking on the tiny window and snapping off clawtips before more poked their way through.
“Not without getting you two!” Trish snapped, grunting as her knife was pulled through the crack.
“OH HELL NO! I AM WORKING ON SOME DELICATE SHIT IN HERE!” Nico again screeched, again firing off her pistol. “AND you’d fry our way OUT!!” Lady in turn let out a disgruntled sound, again pulling down on the window. So it came as a surprise when the Empusa all froze, bulbous heads twitching in near sync with one another. They chittered and chirped, pulling away from their assault. Lady leaned forward, heterochromic eyes narrowing as the three women stared in confusion at the lesser demons moving slowly away from the trailer, heads skyward and buzzing nervously.
“... They don’t normally do that.” Trish said slowly, watching the demons chitter and buzz, still backing away from the van.
“They don’t?” Nico gripped, gripping the steering wheel with such force that her knuckles were white.
“Not from what I’ve seen!” Lady piped up from behind, having let go of the window and peering out of the windshield as the Empusa still backed off. “And if they do back off, it’s usually because of -”
“Bigger fish.” Nico hummed her own eyes scanning over the demons heads, looking for what could have scared them. “Shocked you being here didn’t scare them off.” Nico then said, jerking her head at Trish. Trish scoffed, still scanning the ruined buildings. All three stiffened at the sound of something heavy hitting concrete. Only for Trish and Lady to let loose a sigh of relief as Nico whooped and hollered at the familiar revving of a small engine and a battle cry.
The Empusa’s heads snapped up, guttural chittering sounding from them before one let loose an ear bleeding scream, coating its colony mates in its blood before dissolving into embers. Others screeched, charging at the newcomer. Nico and Lady were cheering the kid on, but Trish couldn’t help but feel the little ball of lead grow bigger.
She squinted, watching Nero move between the lesser demons with such speed that it seemed she only noticed something very wrong with him. Every now and again, she noticed a slight stumble before it was quickly overshadowed by the encroaching Empusa that he slashed and shot at with the prosecution of someone with demonic heritage. She’d seen it with Dante more times than she can count. And beyond the screams and calls of the lesser demons, she could hear Nero letting loose sounds that he really shouldn’t have been able to make. That and for the briefest moments he stood still, he seemed to be taller than before.
“What’s got your panties in a bunch! We’ve got Nero out there! So now you two can go out and-” Nico let loose a strangled sound as something roared, and Nico's side of the truck and the windshield was now soaked in blood. The three of them stared at the dripping blood as the sound of scattering Empusa’s faded. “I just… fucking cleaned this.”
Trish looked at Nico, noting Lady had done the same.
“That’s what you're worried about?!” Lady half hisses out as Trish sidesteps her to the door, Luce and Ombra in hand as Nico loudly starts defending herself. Pistols raised, Trish stepped out from behind the van and looked to where the blood had come from. A mess of bodies smouldering as they slowly vanished back to the underworld. Blood glistening in the sun's dying light.
And there he stood. Red Queen in hand, dripping crimson on the already soaked ground, Blue Rose in its holster, but Trish could see the heat coming off of it. That wasn’t what worried her though.
Trish’s grip tightened on Luce and Ombra, pulling in a deep breath as she studied the shiny blue shell that coated Nero’s hand and feet(it also trailed up his legs, vanishing under shredded jeans), noting the claws tipping his fingers as they flexed on Red Queen's handle. Nero let out a soft chittering groan, and she watched his shoulders jump as bones moved under the now straining leather jacket, its seams slowly stretching and popping out. Trish’s gaze snapped down upon hearing something drag across the concrete, and stiffened seeing a dark blue and ivory tipped and armor segmented tail digging into the ground. Taloned feet slowly resting back on the blood soaked battlefield as if Nero was finally starting to relax a little. She looked back up at his face, swallowing hard as she stared at the dark blue mandibles that fluttered with every heavy breath he took, exposing sharp white teeth surrounded by a leathery red musculature.
Like a true ‘demon’. But this wasn’t anything she’d ever seen. Not from Dante, most currently not from Urizen. This was nothing she’d ever seen before.
Cyan locked onto blue, and Trish tensed, grip tightening hard on her pistols. Nero’s eyes perked up and blue mandibles flared, as if he was smiling. Pulling his sword from the ground in one swift movement and returning it to his back, Nero waved his good hand in greeting, mouth opening to say something-
Only to promptly trip and fall almost face first into ground. Trish blinked, watching as Nero groaned, propping himself back up on one and glaring at his feet.
“Sorry…” Nero grumbled as Trish cautiously approached. “Thought I had a better handle on my feet.” He admitted as he looked back up at the blonde demon. “Devil Trigger was… not what I was expecting.” Nero half chuckled to himself before taking note of Trish's expression, and shifted uncomfortably a little. “I mean. Couldn’t have come at a better time! We need everything we’ve got to take-”
“This isn’t Devil Trigger.” Trish blurted, staring at the blue carapace that covered his face and neck. Nero froze, and she watched his eyes go wide in confusion and horror. “What?” He chirped out, mandibles flattening themselves against his face with an audible clack.
