Ive been thinking lately and like.. I think I’d love to call someone i’m interested in and actively trying to flirt with my courting partner- especially before we become any kind of couple. Such a fun term, too!

Some gentle reminders for the aroaces who date or want to try dating:

- Not dating until now is absolutely okay and valid

- You don't have to conform to the allosexual social standards in your relationship

- Your comfort and happiness as well as your partner's are the most important things in your relationship and will always come above the societal expectations and standards

- Starting to date in your 20s and figuring our that it's not for you in the end is absolutely valid and okay

- There is nothing wrong with you if you have to take things slow and if you're confused, you're valid in your experience

- Never put your safety and comfort below anything else

I think I just got asked out. I turned the guy down because I knew what he was really asking but I almost regret not giving him my number bc he did seem cool and like someone I'd like to get to know better. But then I think about it again and know I wouldn't want to date him without knowing him which is really what he was asking. Really I just want to be friends.

I just wish I could know people without going through the process of getting to know them. It would make my romantic and platonic relationships so much easier.

As is I don't date bc I don't know anyone well enough to so I'm single so people ask me out and I turn them down bc I don't know them so I don't meet new people or form new bonds so I'm not dating, so I'm single so people ask me out and I'm creating my own form of demiromantic hell for myself

Broskis, why is dating as an aromantic person so frustrating 💀 like, I don’t feel any attraction towards mere pictures of people, let alone some lazy bio, so HOW DO YOU DO IT 😭 how do other people do it ?! Like, even when I see a person and I can tell that rationally speaking, they look good/ nice/inviting, it does literally the bare minimum to my nervous system…crickets…my brain is bored the fuck. I don’t get how others do it legit.

Sometimes I wish things were different.
