CW: Kidnapping, intoxication, beating (mostly kicking), asphyxiation, threats of murder

Octavian always felt uneasy when he woke up to find the motel room empty. Damien had let him sleep in, usually they left in the evening as the sun was going down, but he saw it was the middle of the night, which only added to his anxiety. He didn’t know when he was coming back, or what he might come back with. He’d certainly never anticipated having to worry about who he might come back with, yet here he was, staring in shock as Damien returned to the room, a clearly intoxicated man hanging onto his arm. The stranger was laughing, he was in a good mood, until he spotted Octavian. His expression changed, he looked confused.
“Huh…? You said we’d be alone…” He said, his words slurred as he looked at Damien.
“Did I? My mistake, I forgot to mention my little partner.” He said casually, he shut the door behind him and locked it for good measure before dropping the man onto his bed. Octavian’s felt his skin crawl at the word partner, it disgusted him to hear Damien say that.
“Partner…?” The man asked, struggling to sit up. Octavian started to think he wasn’t just drunk, that Damien may have slipped him something more.
“Damien- what’s going on?” He asked him, looking at him with wide eyes. He was in no position to help the stranger, but he was terrified about what might happen to him.
“I still have a client to satisfy, don’t worry. He should be out in a few minutes.” Damien said dismissively. He could see the fear on the man’s face as it registered what he said, but any attempts to argue, or even fight back, were useless, just as Damien said, he passed out only moments later. “Get up, I only have so much time to get him in the back of the car, we gotta leave soon.” He told him, turning the man over onto his stomach.
“What are you doing?!” He cried, and Damien sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Tavi, baby. I sell people.” He said bluntly. “Things didn’t work out with your little boyfriend, I had to find something else to fill his place. I’m meeting the client half way, and this drugs will wear off eventually, so we have to go.” Octavian was caught up in still looking at the man, connecting the dots as Damien spoke. He realized he even looked like Lucas, about the same height, same build, same blonde hair color. He was so horrified he was too scared to move, but Damien snapped his fingers in his face. “Tavi!! Get your ass up, or I’m shoving you in the trunk with him.” He snapped, and finally Octavian hurried out of bed, his mind racing.
His hands shook as he hurriedly got his bag together, while Damien was focused on the stranger. He’d grabbed the zipties from his bag, restraining his wrists and his ankles, just like he’d done to Octavian the night they’d met. He wished desperately he could make all of this just stop, he wished this man could escape somehow, at the same time, he was scared of seeing the same thing that happened to Lucas happen to someone else.
“Tavi, get the door for me, will you?” He said, picking the man up.
“I’m not helping with this!” He snapped, almost in disbelief that Damien would even ask him to do such a thing. He shouldn’t have been surprised, of course nothing was too far for him, but Octavian couldn’t stand the idea of assisting in the same thing that put him in this position.
“You ain’t got a choice!” Damien snapped back at him. “You know I’m doing you a fucking favor by keeping you, right?” He said, lowering his voice. “If you don’t want me to change my mind, you’d best do what I fucking tell you to.” He was getting increasingly angry with him, Octavin knew he couldn’t keep pushing him without risking further consequences- and he didn’t want to find out what those would be.
Begrudgingly, he opened the door for him, Damien already had the car parked outside the room. He easily used his key to pop the trunk, Octavian felt even more guilty knowing what that man would likely wake up to. After trapping the man in the trunk, he came back in for Octavin, he grabbed his own bag and grabbed Octavian by the arm, dragging him outside and forcing him into the backseat with their bags. He slammed the door hard, Octavian knew he really was mad at him, he turned his head to watch him walk off, he realized he still had to actually check out of the room, leaving him alone in the car, with a man in the trunk.
He really did think about doing something. He wasn’t locked in the car, he could’ve jumped out, he could’ve called for help, he could’ve ran. Maybe he couldn’t have saved that man, but maybe he could’ve saved himself. At the same time, he didn’t think he could stand the idea of not trying to help him too, and there wasn’t much he could do when the stranger was unconscious, and he was still handcuffed. He wasn’t nearly as strong as Damien, he couldn’t have gotten him out on his own. He was still stuck trying to make a decision when Damien finally returned, he startled Octavian when he got into the car and started it up.
“You’re lucky I don’t have time to beat the shit out of you right now.” He told him, Octavian whimpered. He found his plushie in his bag and pulled it close to his chest. It had become a necessary comfort in the past couple days since he’d gotten it. “I already told you, you’re mine, you don’t get to say no to me.”
"I-I'm sorry..." He whimpered.
“Shut the fuck up, I don’t want to hear it.” He snapped, and Octavian did exactly as he was told, he did his best to keep himself as quiet as possible.
He spent the car ride clinging to his push, staring out the window. He knew the drugs wore off eventually, the man must’ve woken up by now. Sometimes he could feel him kicking against the back of the seats, Octavian could only imagine how panicked and scared he was, waking up restrained, helpless, in the pitch dark. The guilt weighed heavy on him, he wished he could’ve ignored it, but it was difficult when he was so close to him. He wanted to ask Damien how long until they got wherever they were going, he seemed to have relaxed by now, but he didn’t want to push it, he didn’t want to get in any more trouble.
At least another couple of hours passed before they finally pulled into a mostly empty lot in the middle of nowhere, another car was already waiting for them.
“Wait here, this shouldn’t take long.” Damien told him, he got out of the car and popped the trunk, Tavi could hear the man’s muffled shouting. He wantched from the window as he was dragged across the lot, to meet up with a pair of men who got out of the other car.
They spoke for a short while, the man forced to his knees, though he was still struggling against his restraints no one paid him any attention. Octavian could only watch in horror, his only chance to actually do something had long since passed, now he was completely powerless. At one point one of the men looked at him, gestured to him, and Damien turned to look at him as well. Out of fear, Octavian ducked down, clutching his plushie tightly. He wished that he could just disappear, that he could be anywhere but here. It wasn’t lost on him that he was supposed to be in the same position as this man, that Damien had intended this for him as well, but he’d gotten lucky... or supposedly, he had anyway, he still wasn’t sure.
After a short while, he set aside his plushie and finally sat up, just in time to see the man dragged back to the other car, when he wouldn’t stop fighting they smacked his head against the side of the car, before forcing him into the trunk. Damien stood outside and watched them leave, and once they were gone he returned to the car. Instead of getting inside he opened the back door and grabbed Octavian by the arm, roughly yanking him out and throwing him to the ground. He realized very quickly that he was definitely still upset about earlier.
“You need to learn right the fuck now, you don’t tell me no.” He told him.
“I’m sorry!” He cried, raising his hands to try and protect his face. This only left the rest of him vulnerable, Damien kicking him in the stomach, the ribs, anywhere he could reach really. Octavian could hardly breathe, but when he lowered his hands to try and protect his stomach, Damien kicked him in the face, he cried in pain as blood gushed from his nose, running down his face, he could already taste it.
“You ain’t got nowhere else to go, Tavi, if you piss me off enough you’re just gonna end up like that bastard.” He snarled, stepping on his chest and leaning over him, putting all his weight onto him, leaving him gasping for air. “You’ll be lucky if I don’t just put a bullet in you and leave you somewhere to rot. Now, are ya gonna behave next time I tell you to do something?” He asked, and Octavian nodded frantically, he tried to wheeze out a response but he could hardly speak. “I know you can be a good boy, you better prove it to me.” Damien said, he finally got off him, Octavian taking deep, shuddering breaths. Damien hauled him back to his feet, forcing him back into the car.
He sat in the backseat, his hands clasped over his mouth, trying to soften any noise he would make. Tears streamed down his face, pain radiating out from where Damien had kicked him, he knew his face was covered in blood but he hardly cared right now, a nosebleed wouldn’t kill him, but upsetting Damien might. He’d learned his lesson, he knew he made a mistake thinking he had any say in anything going on, but he just didn’t understand why he had to learn his lesson like that.
