out of curiousity how did SHL getting adopted by SJ come about?
Short version: I don't really remember.
Long answer:
If I remember correctly it was around the time I came up with a PIDW au fic draft where pidw!nyy struggled mentally after witnessing first hand an alternate reality (svsss) where everything worked out in the end. Where both Shizun and Binghe were living a happy life, Cang Qiong was still standing and her counterpart seemed free of worries. Where Ming Fan was still alive and Liu Mingyan had her brother's shoulder to cry on. On short: realising how empty the pidw palace life really is.
Basically, the whole fic was structured to follow pidw!nyy trying to figure out what happened to her baba (shen jiu) and how he, plus her lack of action, managed to bring the pidw universe to such shambles. Everything topped with a little bit of sha hualing and liu mingyan comedy relief scenes.
+ some scenes of Madam Meiyin acting as a maternal figure to bingge rather than a concubine; I like the idea ok
(I hold the fic really dear in my heart, and I'd love to repick writing it sometimes. If I have time and I won't need the family car. It broke 2 times while I was doing the drafts)
So while I was brainstorming ideas for said au and was trying to piece the puzzle back together, I accidentally put together the idea of original goods shen jiu interacting with sha hualing. And for everyone that ever got to talk with me, they'd know how much I love Shen Jiu adopts A-Yuan content.
And the "Shen Jiu adopting random kids" agenda also worked extremly well with my headcanon that sha hualing has a disfunctional family, with her being the runt and always wanting to prove her worth.
The ideals of these 2 characters, in the way I percieve them, are interestly intertwining perfectly.
Before going forward, or in general if you interact with my content, you'll have to know and accept that I'm not big on shipping Shen Jiu romantically with anyone. Especially any version of Luo Binghe. As a mode of torture, maybe? As a reciprocating feeling - no.
I'm in love with the idea of Shen Jiu becoming the independent parent that he never had around. Mostly to prove others wrong, but in the end he manages to get attached to people he never thought he'd care for. Mostly women, due to his survival instinct telling him men are predators.
For a whole while now, one of my favorite shen jiu headcanons consist in the fact that Yingying is the biological daughter of one of the younger ladies from the warm red pavilion. And that he was always like an older brother to her and doted on her. So he took yingying in to help both of them, mother and child, out.
On this note, I was thinking of the way I constructed sha hualing as a character in my mind. I see her as being partially human, a small percentage, but enough as to make her unable to grow horns like the rest of her family. I want to see her as a character that constantly tries to prove her worth due to her physical lackings.
Pairing her want to be seen, with shen jiu's soft spot for women and fright for men seemed like a right choice.
It's mostly a sentimental based found family pairing that I like to think about from time to time. Plus, they'd be a good gossiping pair in my opinion. It's as much a "dad - daughter" duo as it is a "I need someone to talk to" friendship.
Shen Jiu being close to Sha Hualing could also make Luo Binghe realise that shizun does not hate him because he is a demon. That Shen Jiu doesn't hate demons, he hates him for reasons he has yet to discover.
(Bonus mention that I also love the idea of Bingge finding out how fucked up Shen Jiu's backstory is and trying to understand him on a deeper level, since he only ever knew the surface)
I'm not really in this fandom for the romance most of the times, I'm here for the interaction possibilities powered by misunderstandings and screwed up realities and backstories. And Iove it a lot, it's freeing.

Ok so, to reply your question, Sonic and Shadow are technically not together? like romantically, YET.
They simply are stuck together in a dependant kind of way.
Since HyperShadow is not Shadow, just a version of him, and Dark Sonic is it Sonic but not on his right mind, i don't see them as being fully aware of what is happening to them. They do have feelings for each other in this AU tho.
Specially HyperShadow, while Shadow normally hates showing his emotions, Hyper doesnt have any problem with that, so he doesnt hesitate to be gentle or show affection to Sonic.
While Sonic normally has no problem showing affection to his friends or anyone in general, in Dark form he struggles to be gentle, since he only thinks of violence.
I really just want them to be fully aware of their actions to get together really.

THE BEGINNING!
Eclair and Chocolate Bonbon were partners back in college, well. I use partners here very loosely. Eclair had strong feelings for her but Bon-bon came from a pretty rich conservative family that held some views that made Bonbon feel as if she couldn't express herself properly. And while she did enjoy Eclairs company, she didn't love him like that.
Instead she had eyes for sourbelt, but just couldn't bring herself to dump Eclair because of how attentive and sweet he was.
Well, they stayed together until they were about 23, Eclair has ideas of proposing to her yet Bon-bon is thinking about leaving Eclair, she can't keep this lie up anymore and it's absolutely tearing her apart. However before she can break the news, she finds out she's pregnant and her life is flipped upside down completely.
She tries to go to her family for help, and confesses she doesn't love Eclair and expresses she wants to abort the child, But her family gets upset with this. They give her the average "oh well if you do this you go to HELL" run down
Well, Bonbon decides that she won't get rid of the baby, and instead goes to sourbelt and asks her for help; in which sour belt says that no matter what if she needs a place to say they will be there for her.
This gives Bonbon the courage to finally confess to Eclair that she hasnt been completely honest with him and doesn't enjoy their relationship. And this absolutely breaks Eclairs heart, but he understands.
Yet upon finding out she's pregnant, he panics a little. Unlike Bonbon, Eclair hasn't exactly come from a well off family. They're definitely somewhere along the line of lower and middle class, but Eclair was an only child so this made life a little easier.
Yet it seems the no money curse has followed Eclair, because right now he works as a teachers assistant and doesn't exactly get paid for that.
But regardless, he promises that he'll try to help her in anyway he can.
THE BIRTH OF CHOUX
While pregnancy definitely took a toll on Bonbon mentally, she took it like a champ and eventually gave birth to Choux
( Carrie = Bonbons nickname for her, Sweetpea = Eclairs nickname for her.)
Everyone is over joyed with the birth of their daughter and they both absolutely fall in love with her, and promise each other that just because her parents are split up that this will do absolutely nothing to change the fact that they both love her very much
Despite trying her best to be a good mother, Bonbon feels as if she's lacking something in her life and can't help but think if she doesn't do something now, her dreams of becoming a designer will be ruined.
Yet upon bringing this up with her family, they shun her and threaten to cut her off for not wanting to be a proper mother, she was already on thin ice for not staying with Eclair. But this puts her in a hot seat, leaving Bonbon frustrated.
She expressed this frustration to Eclair and sourbelt. Feeling like she still has so much left in life, and that maybe she isn't ready to become a mother after all. And Eclair (who's felt a strong sense of guilt for getting her pregnant.) feels like he owes her freedom. And this probably could've been talked about better, but considering his guilt- he feels obligated to give her that freedom and says something along the lines of "oh! I don't mind taking over parenting full time when she's a little older."
And after a long discussion, they agree that Eclair will start taking care of Choux when she's around the 1-2 year old age mark.
LIVING WITH ECLAIR.
Once Choux starts to reach that age, Bonbon goes back to fashion school and works her ass off. It isn't until Choux is about three that she gets accepted into this big league school that could possibly change her life forever, and she thinks that if she doesn't accept this now that she'll never get to live her full potential.
Eclair, who's also still in school and working three different jobs can't help but feel almost... frustrated. That she's considering traveling that far, and in the heat of the moment accuses Bonbon of abandoning their child. Which causes a massive strain on their relationship.
Yet, in the end Bonbon and sourbelt leave with the agreement that Bonbon will leave child support for Eclair. (Or something like that, I'm not a child of divorce HELP. If anyone can leave me any tips on this part it'd be greatly appreciated 💔)
Yet Eclair pushes through and chooses to raise Choux.
CURRENT DAY
Eclair and Choux have a very, very close relationship. And now they're doing a little better! Eclair had become a professor and is currently trying to fix up the old guild museum with the help of Latte, Yam & Milk who all believe that this would be a great opportunity to share their towns history with others.
But because of this, Eclair lives a very busy life, and sometimes exhausts himself daily. This paired with his bad back and heart issues isn't exactly idea, but he wants Choux to have a good life.
Yet Choux can't help but think Eclair does too much for her... she understands where he comes from, but sometimes she thinks the way he worries over her and works himself half way to death is... kinda stupid.
Sometimes he allows her to help him, but makes it very clear that he'd rather her work on her school work.
Unintentionally, this makes Eclair come off as a helicopter parent. And sometimes this makes Choux feel like she doesn't have her own freedom really.
A TRAGIC TEENAGE LOVE STORY A CLICHE LOVE STORY!
Choux and urchin have a very cliche forbidden love story going on here.
Street urchin who's a somewhat homeless orphan often roams the streets and has a bad reputation of being "wild and crazy". Often times riding on her motorcycle in the wee hours of the night, disrupting the peace. And because of this, Eclair isn't fond of her.
Well unknowing to him, Street urchin is actually really smart! Choux struggles alot with science and Street urchin is actually quite fond of science, so she offers to help tutor her!
And because of this the two of them strike up a friendship that slowly turns into a forbidden romance!!
TEACLAIR ROMANCE
Now, for the actual important part of the story, what's their relationship like? Well, after defeating the dragon Teaknight actually tries to apply to work at Eclairs museum. But the blond kindly rejects him, believe it or not Eclair actually gets OFFENDED that this legendary hero is actually offering to work for him. So instead they compromise and agree that Teaknight will "help out" and volunteer at the museum.
Their relationship goes steady after that for awhile. The two become great friends and a mutual crush starts to form between the two! Yet one day Teaknight starts to get distant with Eclair, fearing that he's growing much too attached to the blond. And Teaknight fears that if this continues he'll end up somehow losing Eclair too. And he just can't stand for it.
Teaknight was left both mentally and physically effected by the death of the tea leaf knights. Not only did he watch his friends and lover (yes I'm making an oc for this story that Teaknight had a... Less than healthy situationship with) die, but he also lost his foot in the tragedy leaving him disabled. Not to mention the nasty scar on his face.
Teaknight cannot stand to accept this hurt, so he decides he'll find comfort in alcohol once again. Indulging in his past alcoholic tendencies once more in order to forget about the pain and trauma he's endured. (I plan on making a more in depth post about this later, so for now you'll only get this)
Eventually Eclair finds out,,, On a rather dark and cold night, Eclair gets a call from the pub Teaknight drinks at and a bar tender informs Eclair that Teaknight cannot walk himself home and needs someone to come get him. And with that Eclair rushes over and finds a rather horrible looking Teaknight. Eclair, who's had enough of this side of Teaknight walks him home and the moment they step through his cabins door, confronts him. Even starts crying over it. And all Teaknight can do is listen as Eclair cleans him up and makes sure he's okay.
After that nigh, their relationship starts to take a more romantic turn with Eclair helping Teaknight get rid of his alcoholic tendencies. Helping him work out and sporting him as he lifts weights (even if Eclair himself isn't the most fit.)
As the two get closer this actually makes Choux... a little concerned. She's aware of her father's dating history and is worried that Teaknight and Eclair might not be good for each other. But not wanting to put a label on Teaknight or ruin her father's happiness she decides to just watch and wait. Wondering what will happen between the two of them.

The plant shapes were inspired by both the cacti in JSAB, them being a very much prominent part of this shape type population, as well as of many plant OCs from my friend @geegeenocheese(SHE IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME CHAT FR).
So generally plant shapes aren't just the JSAB cacti, but also any literal plant, really.
What's most interesting to note about them is how the "plant" part comes quite literally here. As an example, not all plant shapes need to eat, really - many leading lifestyles possibly quite different to that of most shapes.
Many rely solely on sunlight and nutrient supplements for their sustenance, and their bodies are naturally attuned to nature as a whole, meaning they are the most sensible shapes to processed food and shape-made environments.
This doesn’t mean a plant can’t live in a large metropolis for instance, it only means it’d be a bit biologically harder for them to sustain themselves well in such a high-tech and processed environment. Note that some plants even do eat, really! Most simply don't need and/or don't want to.
Plant shapes are frequently seen as “farmers” or “countryside” people, often associated with a more rural lifestyle and culture. This, of course, isn’t necessarily true, let alone apply to all plants. Some live in large urban areas, others inhabit smaller villages, some live alone indeed in their own farms, and some might even be lone adventurors all around Geometrika!
Personally, I find Plant shapes to be really whimsy, not particularly due to a culture of sorts, but because they really are quite carefree given the many possible lives they can lead, having their needs easier to meet with nature's help.
These types of shapes may come in all shapes and sizes, with who even knows what kind of abilities? They tend to be very varied in characteristics overall.
Most plants(particularly cacti) are seen in “The Flora Paradise”, or simply “Paradise”, but they can frequently be found anywhere on the map, generally speaking.
In the next lore post, I'll talk about Icon shapes, and their few subdivisions! That'll be quite an interesting one :D

Also warning for long ass rant and descriptions of murder
Note this is an AU where the cosmic arms and Jack's arm stayed intact together. Also an AU where Wacksaw is the one on earth and is trying to bring Rezzoch over but gets trapped in the monster dimension. (This also means that Bardle is alive he just stayed in Wakefield to watch over the town and it's monster with Skaelka) This AU happens around after book 10 when the gang are back in Wakefield looking for the magic book (I know it's name I just don't know how to spell it)
So instead of all of the gang finding out that Thrull is working with Rezzoch its just jack. So Jack goes and tells his friends (he had his camera so he had proof) but then Thrull goes missing. So until they get more information on Thrull working with Rezzoch they keep it quiet.
But after book 10 monsters on the mallusk start going missing without warning, even Goblet (is that how you spell it? Eh lets go with it). But as the monsters and gang start to really worry when Rover and June goes missing after she goes to train with Jack. From what Jack recalled she had left early and Jack wanted to practice archery more so he stayed. (The monsters made and archery range near the forest. While Jack and the gang were out if town) This happened after they hear that a group of humans were living in LA and were still alive. The troop held out hope that June just left to go find the other humans with Rover, but as time goes on with no word or ideas on where she is they start getting really concerned. Jack is the one seeming to be the most panicked and worried about June.
Then about a month or so after June disappeared Dirk vanishes too. But he leaves a letter saying that he was taking big mama to look for her. Obviously this gets Quint and Jack more worried but he was already long gone so they couldn't stop him and with no transport they had no way of getting to him to stop him.
As time goes on more and more monsters go missing with no leads. Until, bones were found in the forest near an odd looking tree. (the screening tree they finds out what it is with Bardle's help and everything they finds out about the tree in book 2) so they finds a skull and to the horror to everyone it's Thrull's. So now Quint and Jack reveals what they know about Thrull and more evidence they had been gathering. And all of the monsters believe them and they burn Thrull's bones.
One day Skaelka finds a hidden cabin in the forest. She investigate with Quint and Bardle (Jack was 'busy') and With clues they find around the house they finds out that there's A mass murder (the can't tell if it's human or monster, but they think it's monster) they even find out that Thrull was murdered and they find what remains of Thrull's burnt skull placed atop some sort of pedestal. But before there able to find out who was casing all this the killer comes back to their base and the three of them escape with out getting a look at the person or monster who was killing all those monsters.
But before they left they copied a map that they had hanging where Xs on it were labeled with names and dates they went missing. So after telling the remaining monster, and Jack, about what happened and that if they went to those places then they might find there friends. And they do find there friends, but just there bones. Some where still decaying getting some gags from the monsters and slowly they give there friends proper barrels. And then the disappearances just stop. Thinking its over or that the killer had moved on to somewhere else Quiet goes back to trying to find Dirk and June.
But Jack (who's been acting very differently, they thought it was cased by Thrull's disappearance and betrayal) starts vanishing for hours on end. And one day when Quint was cleaning he found a box of dead beheaded rats in Jack's room. They come to the conclusion that someone was trying to scare them or something. But they are put on high alert since no one knows how the box got into Jack's room (the think its the killer coming back braking in and trying to scare them as said before)
But soon human remains are found near the archery range so after finding all of bones (they do some testing and dental record stuff or something IDK) they figure out that there June's. (Her back had an arrow stuck in where the right lung would have been and an arrow stabbed in the back of her skull pushed in until it stuck out the left eye socket) Jack seems to get hit the hardest by the news that June has been dead for either since she disappeared or a short time after. Jack not wanting to see the remains runs away to the lake. Where Quint finds Jack looking into the lake with horror. And when he looks in he's horrified. There at the bottom of the lake near the bank was Big Mama.
Again with the help of the other monsters there able to get the totaled car out of the lake where they make another horrific discovery. Inside the driver's seat was a another skeletal body, later identified as Dirk. So now everyone's panicking. And Quint can't figure out how any of this could have happened. (after reading a lot of books) Quint finds the Dirk body's condition was way too bad, even underwater for as long as it had been, to have been there since the he's disappearance. He would have had to be dead for a while before he went missing to have his body in it's condition.
But before he could figure it out, one day at Joe's and the Mallusk monsters start falling and dying
They finds out that all the food was poisoned with cyanide. And soon the only people left are, Skaelka (who didn't eat anything), Quint and Jack (who also don't eat anything), and Bardle (who is immune to all and any tip of poison or venom) and a few other monsters who fled the town and the Mallusk.
But after a while the survivors go back to the cabin and they find new X marks on the map. And with even more snooping they find a box of photos of all of their dead friends possibly moments before and after there murders. The also find a letter to Quint. They get out of the cabin (again Jack didn't come nor did Skaelka) when they get far and safe distance from the cabin they read the note. This is what it said:
To Quint, I'm sorry for what I did... Not really. They deserved what they got. Thrull, Globlet, the others, they weren't safe. They were working with THEM you need to believe me. I did all I did because I was protecting you, and the others. I can promise you I will not let those who want to kill us to live.
I need you to understand that even with out those meds I'm still sane! I'm not some psychopath.... well maybe a little. BUT! I know you'll believe me when I say all I do is to protect!! (then some unidentifiable words and crazed ramblings)
When they get back both Jack and Skaelka are gone. They rush to find them and as they look around the tree house they find multiple empty Bottles of antipsychotics.
When they do they find them, Skaelka's axe laid on the ground bloody with Jack sitting down in front of the Tree Of Entry. As they take in the horrible scene,
Jack says - "You know even if you ration something you'll run out if it eventually."
Quint - "Why?"
Jack (now standing holding an axe with one of Skaelka's spikes stuck on it.) - because its the only thing that really brings me joy."
As Quint asks questions to prevent Jack from attacking them, Jack reveals what he had done. And that he's done it before.
Jack reveals that he had been holding the medicine before he found Quint so he wouldn't hurt him. As time went on he started to get lower and lower on the medicine. And on one of the days he wasn't taking his meds (because he needed to ration them) he found out about Thrull and killed him in the middle of his praise speech to Rezzoch. And that in the Monster Dimension later he fully ran out of his meds. He revealed that Rezzoch possess did try to him but when they failed they became one of the many voices in Jack's head. He explained the he killed the other monsters because he - "knew where working for Rezzoch" - and he was trying to protect his family. But then June found out and so in a moment he killed her in the archery range. Then when Dirk got too close to the truth Jack killed him with poison and cyanide. Then dumped his body into the lake. And explained that he realised if all the monsters were dead then there couldn't be anyone to hurt his family.
Quint - "what about Rover?"
Jack "hu?"
Quint (crying) - "Don't play with me! WHAT DID YOU DO TO ROVER?!'
Jack explained that Rover no longer trusted him and he know that would be bad for the others to see. And they would realise Jack's connection to the disappearances. So after killing June he killed Rover and hid his body deeper in the mountain forest.
Quint couldn't understand. How could Jack, the kindest person alive, do such horrible things? But then Bardle had one last question.
Bardle - "how did you get on those meds in the first place? From what I understand you need to be put on those meds. So why where you on that medication?"
Jack stayed silent for a bit before explaining. He was put on the at like 6-7. A year or so after being put into the foster system. Then he explained in detail how he killed his younger sister than poisoned his mom and dad with different cleaners till they died right in front of him one morning. At that he chuckled. It was sick and twisted sound.
Jack - "since I really like you ill let you go for now. I don't really want to hurt you Quint"
Quint - "You'll let us go? WHAT DO YOU-"
Bardle (shaking his head)- "Not now. We need to leave."
And with that the two left. Quint only looked back once. To check if Jack would keep his word. And he did. All Jack did was stand there in the clearing.
Also after that Jack started having hallucinations of his family both is found one and his real one. :D
That's it! That's the AU! And Jack stayed in Wakefield and never left. He ended up killing any poor soul who interstate into it's borders. Also yes Jack did kill the Mallusk. And Rezzoch eventually gave up on taking over earth and went to destroy another world (its not that fun when your enemy is a psychopathic mass murdering child and a traumatized brainiac) And humans rebuilt with monster. Quint found his parents in NYC and refused to tell them what happened to his friends besides that "there all gone now". Also, also, Bardle become Quint's mentor.
Omari constantly reseting the dreamscape to so her friends body's reset, and they can continue going on adventures, but for some reason, Hansels scars stay.
Omari thinks it's a glitch, a malfunction, so she keeps Hansel safe and usually forbids him on adventures. He has an odd knack for injuring himself.
