one of the craziest asexual (and high-key autistic) experiences is finding out that calling and/or thinking that someone is "hot" or "sexy" or smth means you Actively want to fuck them,,, like have the sex with that person??

NO??!?!??!

I just thought their outfit was cool or the way they think about things is really interesting and these words felt like enough hyperbole to express my deep wonder and interest in a person or thing.

You're telling me I'd inadvertently told people I wanna fuck them because of some super miscellaneous thing? I wanna cause havoc to the local morning glory population.

but then it can also be non-sexual depending on the context? What context? Where? Says who?

Having autism is so much easier when your an adult and no one gives you crap about it.. When your a kid and your overstimulated you not only have less emotional control but a meltdown always causes a scene, also as a kid I didn’t understand what was wrong with me (the adults did, they didn’t tell me about my diagnosis and still got mad when I acted autistic) and every time I would feel overwhelmed I was so scared of the scene it will cause and how everyone will react. (And again, 0 emotional control)

Now it’s just “holy shit, my autism is is autisming, time to communicate clearly and help myself somehow” there’s no added pressure, and if a person is being bitchy about it you know they suck! And they have no authority over you

And let me get this straight.

Getting a diagnosis (whether it be autism or adhd or both) is not about putting yourself under a label that you will be now conforming to (uwu-quirky-meeee-style).

Getting a diagnosis is about finally making sense of elements of your life that were always different or difficult.

Getting a diagnosis is the most validating experience you can get.

Not only what you've always experienced exists, but we know a lot about it, and most importantly, you are not alone.
