I’ve been thinking about how people in Europe are probably looking for ways to save money on heat over the winter.

These turn your beds into modern versions of those old 4 poster beds w curtains. Yes, it’s nice for privacy, but the reason those were so popular is because the curtains trap your heat while you sleep.

These bed tents have the same principle. Privacy and insulation. There are vents at the head and feet to open if it gets too warm. AND IT GOES UP TO QUEEN SIZE.

Ok so when we moved last October, my mom took most of the stuff. (Mostly just to be petty) but legally she had to give my bad a bed to sleep on. So of course she gave him the worst, most broken bed she could find. But I wasn’t having it, so I gave him my more expensive, nicer bed to sleep on. I mean man’s in his 60s and he works 14 hours a day, he needs a good bed.

But because of this, I’m sleeping on the shitty queen size she gave us. I don’t like big beds. It takes up too much space in my room and I hate it. Im one person, and I sleep curled up in a tiny ball. I enjoy sleeping at my besties house cause he lets me sleep on his bean bag which is super comfy!

But my goal is by the end of this year, to save enough money to get myself a new bed! I want like a full or a XL twin. Something that can fit me and my stuffies and that’s it. Because my therapist thinks part of the reason I don’t sleep is because my bed isn’t just a “bedtime” place. There’s nowhere else for me to sit when I’m in my room, because the bed takes up the whole room. So he says if I make a space for sleeping it might help.

But I want my bed to be really really cool. I want a tent bed! They’re extra money but I could decorate it all cozy. It can be my sensory nook to decompress and nap in after a hard day. And at night I can feel protected and safe. Now of course these pictures are kinda boring but I wanted to show you guys what they look like. Odd for sure decorate both the inside and the outside, no bland shit for me.

Like I could get some horror movie tapestries to stitch together like patches and drape it on the outside. Get some fairy lights like in some of the photos. I wouldn’t have to worry about making my bed cause I can just zip it away. I could have a bit more floor space, maybe get my own bean bag to sit in while I watch tv!

I just want to upgrade some of my stuff this year y’a know? Cause I think I deserve nice things. My mom never let me have nice stuff so it’s been hard to retrain my brain. But I plan to paint and touch up some of my old furniture. Maybe upgrade my tv and get an actual desk top computer eventually. I wanna work hard for the stuff I have!

So if y’all have any cool diy or décor ideas to spice up my room let me know. I’d love to collaborate with y’all and make like a super cool hang out spot!

I got an ad for these things called bed tents and i seriously want one so bad. Just imagine. In your bed tent with a weighted blanket and not having to worry about stuffed animals falling off! Theres a mesh window towards the foot so you can still watch tv! I want one so bad! They come in twin, full, and queen. The actual website also has king but I can't find the link for it. Just look up "bed tent" on amazon and it should come up. I feel like this would be great for autistic people. Especially children!

I discovered bed tents recently and I have a Mighty Need. I want it so badly, a cozy dark cave. I could bring all the kitties and blankets and pillows and a little reading light into the spare room and bunker down when I’m anxious or want a nap. But the spare room is also my girlfriends office.

So I’ve just been quietly whispering “bed tent” under my breath for the past week. The fantasy is so comforting but the reality is impractical.
