How Robin 1 and Batgirl 1 met
Grayson origin story
"Johnny?" John Richard Grayson looked up from his Comic book and spotted his aunts Mary and Sophia as well as his mother Karla both standing in front of him.
"Yes? Momma? Aunt Sophia? Aunt Mary? Do you need help with anything? Is something wrong with Mini-me ?"
The fifteen year old asked concern for his nine year old cousin suddenly building in his chest. The squirt was notorious for being a little too fearless at times, something that constantly worried both his Mother and his two aunts.
Noticing the look on his face Mary Grayson started to smile. She knew how close Johnny was to her son.
"No, No Dicky's quite alright... But me and your aunts really do need to talk to you about something John." "You see Johnny," Karla took over speaking to her son. "- Marys sister Harriet is coming to visit when we're in Gotham" The mention of his baby cousins maternal aunt made John frown. He remembered that lady. "So what? Is me and mini me and Rach gonna have to sit out? Are we gonna have to use a net? Whats gonna happen?"
"Well since it is Gotham and it is my sister Harriet whose coming…"
"Crap we're using a net aren't we?"
"Language young man, and no, not exactly"
Suddenly John felt the urge to sneeze

Before the show John and his family were stopped by a group of people. "Excuse me Johnny, Mary, Ricky, Al?" Called out a raven haired man in a suit followed closely by a group of people consisting of two other adult males and three adult woman as well as a group of children the oldest two a pair of African American teens who looked to be around his age "Oyi Bruce! Rochelle! Janet! How long has it been? And who are these little tykes?" His uncle John happily greeted the group.

It was time for the finale. Midway through the sound of something snapping vargely registered in nine year old Dick's mind as he steadily watched his family preform from where he sat on the center pole platform with his older cousins John and Rachel by his side.

Complete silence .… Somewhere in the crowd a woman sitting with her grandson started to scream.

"One's still alive!" John's eyes widen as he carefully climbed down the rope ladder. After making sure his two younger cousins got down safely he turned his head and watched as people who he assumed and hope were paramedics ran past him towards where his family laid.

Later on that night John found himself doozing off in Grandpa Haly's trailer holding tightly onto his youngest sleeping cousin while his other younger cousin Rachel who was the daughter of his uncle Alphonse and Aunt Sophia, was laying silently next to him. Earlier Grandpa Haly and a few others had escorted the three of them here. Grandpa Haly had told them to stay put while he went to talk to the police commissioner of Gotham City who had apparently been in attendence tonight. The sound of the door opening varguely registered in John's mind.
A soft Click was heard and The lights flickering on caused John to blink. He shifted onto his back to get a better look at who it was entering the trailer. "Eu-wh? …oh... its you" Standing in the doorway was Mitchell Cooper aka His Aunt Marys great nephew "Yeah…hey how's-" "He fell asleep a bit ago.” Responded Rachel who was cuddled up close to John.
“Oh hey wheres your grandmother?" Asked John who remembered who Mitchell was in attendance with.
"Yeah…she…" Mitchell trailed off as he closed the door to the trailer. It slamming making both John and Rachel flinch. After taking a deep breath Mitchell continued “after y’all were led away my grandmother started having a heart attack after rushing over to the scene. I guess she couldn’t take seeing her own sister die in front of her and her frail heart just gave out“
"Shit man i'm sorry… how long had you been..." John trailed off
"Living with her?" Mitchell finished for him making John nod, his chin bumping into the top of Dickie's head twice.
"Not long really…like three almost four months"
"You have any other family?"
"Not that i'm aware of… my parent's were only children and my maternal grandparents have been dead for like five years..they were only children to…Grandma was my only real option other then foster care or running away to the circus…which i didn't have enough money for" Mitchell gave the Grayson cousins a small smile.
"Ha really?" The slightly older boy shot him a look as Mitchell sat down next to them. "Yes really…my parent's didn't believe in a allowence and grandma didn't either"
"Heh i guess my folks were the same way because I never got one either--eh" at the end of his sentence John felt movement coming from on top of him. "Mhm…Daddy?…Mhm…Bad dream..where's mommy?" the soft sore voice of nine year old Dick Grayson called out. Instead of answering John tightened his hold much to the younger boys confusion. "Dad? Eh" The younger boy opened his eyes slightly. John felt the kid tense up in his arms. "Sshh Dickie…don't worry I'm still here... John John's still here…your cousin Mitchell and Rachel are here to" "Mitchie? Rachi?" The boy said, his voice trembling. Taking that as their que Mitchell laid down on the side of the bed next to John that wasn’t occupied and together he and Rachel both placed their hands onto Dick's back. "John John's right Dickie we're here" said Rachel
"Yeah all three of your cousins are here Mijo don't worry Dickie we're not going anywhere" said Mitchell.

Some time later
“Hello welcome to Wayne Manor ”a pretty blonde with bright brown eyes wearing a pretty blue dress welcomed The Grayson-Cooper cousins as they entered the Manor that was to be their new home with their social worker. The blonde who was standing next to three young boys two of which had dark brunette hair respectively while the third was a blonde and a blonde hair smaller girl as well as the man they knew was named Bruce Wayne went on speaking.
“I’m Martha Elizabeth Kane-Galavan but you can call me Bethany and this is my younger cousin Mary we’re Bruce’s younger maternal cousins as well as his adopted daughters the other kids with us are the Fox siblings Timothy, Tiffany, Luke And Tamara, the Red head is James Gordon And the three young boys next to me are Lance, Ezekiel and Roger” the now identified Martha introduced each of the other kids with her.
Before Dick or any of his cousins could speak up the smaller girl who was introduced as Mary spoke up while waving enthusiastically at Dick who in turn gave her a small smile “My full name’s Mary Elizabeth Kane but you can call me Bette, the guy dressed as a Butler is Alfred he makes awesome chocolate cakes”
The older man who had opened the door replied “Quite right Miss Bette if you all would follow me please, I shall show our newest family members their rooms so they can set their belongings down and then we shall join the others for a snack”

Sorry in advance if i start to ramble.
Batman aka Bruce Wayne is a total Dad. Like i know that the fandom throws around the whole BatDad Nickname but this Bruce? Yeah he totally deserves it*glares at certain Bruces* This Bruce guys this Bruce immediately rushed back to Gotham at age 20(one year before he becomes batman) after globetrotting and training for a number of years, all because he got a call from one of his paternal uncles. Another tragedy had befallen the Kane Family and one of his baby cousins was injured.
But first let’s introduce you to the so called “Kane Cousins” of which Bruce Wayne is apart of. On the surface they seem like your typical rich high society play boys and play girls. They are frequently seen partying it up with no care in the world. Well as we all know thats a facade(for the most part), simply put this is in-fact a group of individuals that have been through hell and back. Tragedy and bad luck seemed to define their family. So much so that the local press has deemed certain incidents “The Great Kane Tragedies”
We all know Bruce Thomas Wayne aka the son of Thomas and Martha Wayne but did you know he has a older brother?
Thomas Kenneth Wayne Jr was born in the early 1970s. At the time Thomas Jr was born Martha was 22 years old while Thomas Sr was 27. Shortly before his baby brother was to be born in the late 70s Thomas Jr was stolen away by the Court Of Owls to be trained. Thus the first great Kane tragedy. 8 years later Martha and Thomas Sr would both be killed by Joe Chill thus the second great Kane tragedy. Thomas Jr(under the name of Lincoln March) and Bruce would finally meet as brothers roughly between 2 to 3 decades later when both the Gotham and the Sedona City branches of The Parliament of Owls were finally destroyed
The third Great Kane Tragedy happened when family patriarch Roderick died in the early 1990s at the age of 66. A few years after having a stroke.
Katherine Rebecca “Kate” Kane and her twin sister Elizabeth “Beth” Kane are the daughters of Jacob and Gabrielle Kane. Both of them are roughly a year younger then Bruce both being born on March 21.
When Gabrielle Kane decided to take her daughters out for their twelfth birthday they were attacked and kidnapped by terrorists. Though military intelligence managed to locate the hostages, The twins father Jacob only managed to rescue Kate, as both Gabi and Beth had been seemingly killed. This is known as the fourth Great Kane Tragedy.
The fifth Great Kane Tragedy happened when the eldest son of Roderick and Elisabeth Kane Nathan Died of a stroke at age 51 just 5 years after finally marrying.
Now about the sixth Great Kane Tragedy.
What was supposed to be a happy day in the life of the youngest Kane cousin AKA Mary Elizabeth “Bette” Kane who had just recently turned 3 turned into a tragedy when armed gunman stormed the Gotham children museum and took her and a number of other kids including her older 6 year old cousin Martha Elizabeth “call me Bethany” Kane hostage. During the ordeal both Bette and Bethanys fathers Robert and Philip Kane as well as Bethany mother Alexandra were killed. Bethany was injured by falling debris but made a full recovery.
Bruce offered to take both girls in but his offer was rejected and instead the girl’s caretaker was declared by all three wills to be 34 year old Katrina Kane the widow of his and the girls deceased uncle Nathan.
Now Bruce was there when Bethany was born. He was 13 soon to be 14. He was the first one to hold her after her parents. He gave Bethany her first teddy bear, who she later name alpha after a beloved kids tv show character. Even after he started globetrotting/training. he would always send gifts to Bethany and later Bette too(Yes he was greatly disappointed that he missed her birth).
In the late 1990s Police Lieutenant James Gordon and his then wife Barbara Eileen Gordon welcome home a son name James Gordon Jr.
In the early 2000s Tanya the wife of close Family friend and Batman Ally Lucius Fox gave birth to their youngest child a girl who was given the name Tamara which is a feminine form of the name Thomas(correct me if I’m wrong). Yes 23 year old Bruce was named godfather(she is his first godchild). Tamara and her siblings are spoiled rotten.
Kate Becomes Batwoman at age 24.
Bethany and Bette joined in on the fun at the ages of 13 and 10.
Bethany chose the codename Hawkfire While Bette Chose the code name Batgirl(she really admires her cousins)
Yes Bruce made sure to train them both hard.
A year after his youngest cousins joined the family business Batman gains a international ally in David Zavimbi a figurehead leader of Mtamba. Bruce gives David a suit of powered armor which David decided to use under the Alias of Batwing “The Batman of Africa”
Have I mentioned that Bruce Wayne loves children. He once spent a night of patrol holding a baby!
Now to the kids im sure your all eager to read about.
John Grayson II got sick the night before his family performance in Gotham city therefore Bruce Wayne took two in instead of one.
Dick Grayson becomes Robin while His cousin becomes________(i need help on this one because I’m stuck on what to call him)
Over 4 years later out on the streets of Gotham 11 year old Jason Todd gets beaten within a inch of his life.
19 year old Timothy Fox the eldest child of Lucius and Tanya Fox happened onto the scene and took pity on Jason. Timothy took him to Dr. Leslie Thompkins. Jason woke up a week later. After a talk with Leslie he tried to steal a box of prescription drugs from her and escape out the window but he got caught by the first Robin Dick Grayson. It suddenly started raining hard right when Robin threw his Batarang. Lightning struck right in front of Robin preventing him from going after Jason as he ran off dropping the box. Three weeks later Batman catches him trying to steal his tires. Jason Todd gets taken in by Bruce and eventually adopted shortly after Dick Graysons 14th birthday.
At age 15 almost 16 Dick handed down the role of Robin to Jason Todd(age 13). No drama,no pissing contest,no hate. Also Nightwing stays on good terms with Batman.
Tim was placed in Bruce Wayne care at around the age of 12 after the deaths of his parents Jack and Janet.
Tim, Jason and Dick all lived under the same roof for a while before Jason died. Yes Dick and Jason were close as were Jason and Tim.
Jason saw how talented Tim was and got the idea to leave him a letter just in case anything were to happen to him. In the letter Jason stressed the idea that Batman needed a Robin.
Bruce and Alfred both knew about the letter.
In this universe Tim thought that taking the name of a fallen hero was disrespectful(especially when said hero was one you greatly admired and who you believe you can’t possibly hold a candle to) but what finally convinced him to be a Robin at roughly age 13(after a number of months of intense training some of which he had spent training along side Jason while he was still alive)was a talk with the Talon that was around his age.(more on the Owlfamily in a later post)
A little over a month after Wally West died Batman saved 17 year old Harper Row and her 15 year old Brother Cullen thus inspiring them both to become the heroes known as Bluebird and Gecko.
In August of that year Batman recruits 23 year old Luke Fox(younger Brother of Timothy Fox and older brother to Tamara Fox)to take over the role of Batwing from David Zavimbi who retired for personal reasons.
In September of that year Batman took in a roughly 16 year old girl name Cassandra Cain. He formally adopted her around the start of the new year. She is given the Batgirl mantle by Bette who then starts going by Flamebird.
I didn’t forget about Barbara y’all
Civilian Barbara Gordon the niece/adopted Daughter of Commissioner James Gordon is shot by the Joker a little while after Cassandra gets adopted resulting in her being paralyzed from the waist down.When shes gets out of the hospital she starts being trained by a good friend of one of Batman Nephews(y’all will read about this good friend in the upcoming Owlfamily post) eventually becoming Oracle.
16 year old Duke Thomas shows up(after Barbara was shot)after his parents disappear after a run in with the Joker. Duke soon becomes both a Wayne ward and a vigilante Named Lark. Has a older cousin deployed overseas.
A month or two later Jason Todd shows back up with two kids in tow. SURPRISE BATMAN! YOU HAVE BLOOD OFFSPRING! Athanasia is the eldest of the two at age 12 while Damian is 4.
Neither of them were made in a lab.
Seeing how talented Athanasia is Tim wonders if he should hand over the Robin Mantle to her. He eventually does and starts going by Red Robin at age 15 almost 16 (the name was a suggestion from Damian after the family meets alternate versions of themselves from another universe)
When Tim is 16 a 14 year old female Vigilante name Spoiler shows up in Gotham. The girl is the same girl he helped save back when he was 14, Batman takes her on as another sidekick.
Also in the same year 16 year old Tamara Fox the youngest child of Lucius and Tanya Fox and goddaughter to Bruce Wayne finds out about her brother Luke being Batwing(suddenly all those self defense and fighting lessons that her godfather paid for makes even more sense then before) So naturally she wants in. She becomes The third Batgirl while 18 year old Cass becomes Blackbat.
Later that year OH look TWO MORE KIDS DADDY BATS DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT!
Kayden Madison(OC) and Martha Hudson(OC) are 20 and 17 respectively. Yes their mothers are comic characters. Both of them appear in the new 52(one did appear in other continuities to).....yeah i have no clue on if they become heroes or just tech support.
