Out Thai QL Actors with Sources
This is a sourced list of Thai QL actors. Some are more explicitly out than others, as you’ll see. The point here is not to be a definitive list of who’s out but to provide source verification for fans to determine things for themselves. Find my reblog with the extended list (tumblr limits posts to 100 links) or see the link in my intro post for the list in its most recently updated form.
(last updated in reblog 4/16/26). Alphabetical by first name. Please feel free to send sources to add to the list or let me know if a link stops working or if you have a source that’s more explicit. This is a group effort!
Note: I've decided not to include labels, since many of them avoid them and the different gender/sexuality frameworks across cultures don't map perfectly onto each other anyways. Because of koojin practices and fan-service, I'm not including dating announcements between CPs as a coming out. Below, you’ll just find individuals making statements about their attractions and sense of gender outside of industry practices. Many are archived posts that the actors no longer preserve on their social media platforms.

Apparently you guys enjoyed my quick round-up of all things BL that happened last week, so here is more because things have not calmed down at all:
Zhe Xu and Mi Jin the chinese CP from Kill to Love had their latest event reported to the police, apparently it got too crowded and that drew too much attention — organizers with the assistance of the fans managed to move the event somewhere else. They have what is perhaps the healthiest click of fans I've ever seen for a chinese CP, while everything was happening they were split and Zhe Xu was seen distraught but fans went to the rescue trying to cheer him up.
Saint came forth: it was indeed a hostile takeover with him losing everything, meaning his entire savings. His speech while showing resilience is another sad entry in the hall of stars that get swindled by suits. This puts all other recent exits from Idol Factory under a new light.
Veteran duo of thai actors voice their discontent with lack of work sparkling the debate about Talent vs Influence, with GMMTV being the battleground once again. This might indicate that after a tepid reception for their latest work things might be looking bleak in there. They are not alone in this, other veterans might be on the chopping block...
Wanna One fans finally pick up that one of theirs is heading into a very toxic and very morally questionable BL drama. Expect on-line discourse and lot's of anonymous complaints in korean forums. It doesn't have the budget to get the christian nutjobs moving thou.
Canadian BL Heated Rivalry got a 15-minute standing ovation at Cannes international release in most major markets (one should not worry because it seems it's going to be the most pirated show of the year). Three sex scenes per episode were promised.
It’s been interesting seeing the GMMTV Problem finally come to a head with Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist. It’s the same problem it’s been for a couple years now: GMMTV is no longer making stories, they are primarily making branded pair content. STGD is not uniquely bad relative to other recent GMMTV BLs, it just doesn’t have a popular branded pair with fans who are willing to pretend it’s good anyway.

Yeah, the Top/Bottom thing was never this bad until the past year or so. It's gross and I'm really tired of it. But the cishet ladies love their heteronormativity pasted onto queer culture, so until it stops being profitable, this is how it'll stay.
Speaking of westerners censoring Asian queerness, I want to share an excellent thread (which should be turned into a journal article) on how pink imperialism is killing the revolutionary Third Cinema potential of cultural productions like Thai BL.
Forget Covid19, we need to face this ongoing epidemic since 2020 when westerners literally subjected TBL to chemotherapy when it had no sign of cancer. Now these miserablists are the loudest people on the internet, as usual, complaining in European languages that there’s nothing to watch anymore since so much of Asian BL production is identical to the pitiable handful of existing queer media to be found here and there in the west.
Because of the pressure to intensify the globalisation of the same disease western queer media fans are afflicted by - capitalist subordination, most of what’s left of formerly great BL producing countries is white weddings, masc4masc parades and other forms of depoliticised queerness, now that productions are reduced to superficial aesthetics and completely severed from any kind of liberation.
The decolonisation of BL culture in the face of aggressive western parasitism is something I’ve been talking about for years but I’ve been observing long enough to see the opposite happen in real time. As always, a colonial occupation announces itself with cognitively violent Orientalism, misnaming their interventions as improvements, anti-censorship and anti-homophobia and even emancipatory when in fact the reality has been the complete opposite with their interventions/preoccupations having been decidedly homonormative, supremacist and reactionary.
This has razed quality indicators in much of the Asian tv adaptation industry to the ground, if not six feet beneath, in more than two countries so far, amounting to a counterinsurgency that depoliticised Asian BL by rapidly imposing Anglo American lgbt norms in almost every national industry as the new status quo.
Just imagine thinking the west - the empire of resource and people theft, genocide and fatally effective propaganda, has anything productive whatsoever to teach the world about liberation, fighting oppression, or the pursuit of human dignity for all - absolutely risible!
The thread helpfully points out that in order to reclaim its revolutionary Third Cinema identity, Asian BL will need to return to its rootedness in “defying western frameworks of queerness (and certainly of love) by once again mobilising people first in thought” because the clamour to uproot Asian perspectives on queerness that don’t reify the west’s mainstream ideologies means the imposition of their own distorted views of reality ideologically imposed on them by their ruling class since the 1970s political counterrevolution of neoliberalism.
You can read the full thread, on the inherent pitfalls of surrendering Third Cinema to the logics of capital and imperialism, here along with citations.
