Masterlist

Jin

Will hurt whoever or whatever made you upset. In theory anyway. Instead he usually just tends to try to help you relax. He'll run you a warm bath and offer you a massage, which he knows that you love. He'll braid little plaits into your hair, even if he's so bad at it that it instantly falls out because how is he meant to hold three strands of hair at once, he only has two hands?! You'll begin to forget about what was making you so upset and once you've calmed down a bit and are feeling better he'll talk it over with you so the two of you can work together to try and find a solution. By then it doesn't matter so much because you've basically just had a free spa day so you're not entirely focused on it anymore and more focused on falling asleep in his arms while he whispers sweet things in your ear.

Yoongi

He wants to give you space but doesn't know if that's what you want. He'll usually ask you because he doesn't want to come up and start cuddling you if you're just going to shove him off. At the same time though he doesn't want to leave you alone if you're then going to be sad that he's not coming to comfort you. He's so perfect. If you're upset at something that he's done then he'll let you vent to him and he'll apologise profusely but then he'll actually change his behaviour and not do it again. Not a man of empty promises. If you're upset at something else then he's going to help you fix whatever it is, nothing is allowed to make his y/n upset.

Hobi

He's not entirely sure what to do at first because he's usually so cheerful but it feels wrong to act that way when you're so clearly feeling the opposite. He helps to turn your sadness into a positive thing. Like, if your upset because you didn't get a job you applied for then he'll help you see what you can do or how you can use this experience to your benefit. Tells you that it's ok to cry and he'll always be there for you no matter what, even if you never get a job. It's impossible to stay upset once Hobi is done with you like you're giggling and almost crying with laughter by the end of it.

Namjoon

He's so caring and sweet when you're upset. He understands what it feels like to feel so frustrated that you cry because he feels so helpless when it happens so when you explain to him everything that's happened he can't help but pull you close. He doesn't want to let go of you because you're safe in his arms and nothing will hurt you like that (apart from lack of air since he's squeezing you so tight). He will validate your feelings so much and tell you that you have every right to feel the way you do and that you're not at fault. You just feel so seen when you're with him, and how could you not.

Jimin

He'll literally just dote on you. You want to go out to get your mind off it? Of course? Let him go get his keys and you're on your way. You want food? Chef Jimin is ready and waiting. He hates to see you upset so will do anything in his power to make you laugh. He loves your smile more than anything in the world and would miss it if he never saw it again. So he'll put on a movie and cuddle with you on the couch, stroking your hair, bowl of popcorn and other snacks in your lap. When you finally laugh at a corny joke he'll look down at you with pride because he's got his y/n smiling again. When the two of you go to sleep he'll hold on to you extra tight because he just never wants to let you go.

Taehyung

He'll buy you little presents to remind you that he loves you and is there for you. It's not like he's spending hundreds on you, but it's just things like your favourite brand of marshmallows which you can only get at the shop at the other side of town. Or the fancy bar of chocolate which you usually only get for when you're treating yourself because it's a bit more expensive than a Mars bar. He'll wipe away your tears and kiss where they fell before giving it to you and you'll laugh a little because he always does it, like a little ritual. Neither of you have to say anything at all because you know the meaning of what he's done. You'll always matter to him and he'll always put in effort if it means you'll be even a fraction happier.

Jungkook

He'll do all the little jobs you needed to do. Like you're upset? Ok, time to do the dishes so you won't have to later in the evening. If you were going to make dinner that night he'll take it upon himself to make your favourite food so he can surprise you. He's so thoughtful about it too because he knows that you hate doing some tasks so him doing them will make your day just a tiny bit better. Which is his goal. Even if you've had an awful day he doesn't like going to bed when one of you is upset so when he finds you cuddled up by yourself at around midnight he'll slide under the covers with you with a little whine as he's missed you all day as he's been doing chores.

min yoongi. he’s the type to do things silently - like a cat.

like how he’ll neatly display the various sheet masks he bought on the way home on the bathroom sink. or like how he’ll “just happen” to be making your favourite food after you’d told him about a rough day. or the way he’ll overdress in winter to make sure he always has an extra layer to give to you when you get cold. even the way he already has a tissue in hand before you even sneeze when you’re sick in bed.

and especially in the way he never fails to tuck you under his arm once he thinks you’ve fallen asleep at night. he may be silent, but you always hear his soft, “i love you” before he closes his own eyes.
