As someone in the world of working in theatre who deals with chronic illness and pain, I’d love to be more open about my experiences, and also be a resource and advocate for those who are also experiencing chronic conditions in the workforce. I’ve talked about my experiences on my blog before, but have never been specific about my actual conditions, but I’m sharing them so that if someone is also struggling with these conditions, I can speak more about what I’ve learned that works and how I’ve learned to cope and make it through the day and succeed in a high demand industry.
Below, I’ve just listed my main diagnosed conditions with a brief description of symptoms and information. I am more than happy to speak more on each individually and to document more about how each affects my day to day, and how I overcome them to be successful in my craft. Because what I’ve learned, is that I’ve had valuable experiences and have gained so much insight. And I don’t want to hide that my life isn’t perfect and going swimmingly lol.
And, on the flip side, I am also still learning constantly and would love to learn from others what they have learned!
