Do you ever wonder what the clones would look like if they were allowed to grow old?

Hardcase would have back pain from too many shenanigans in his younger years and not taking care of himself.

Fox would have so many forehead wrinkles from worry compared to his brothers crows feet from smiling.

Cody’s scar would change over time as his skin starts to sag.

Oddball would having hearing loss from the amount of exposure to loud sounds after dropping bombs for 3 years straight.

Kix would take care of others until he couldn’t take care of himself and he has to recon with the fact that for once in his life he physically cannot take care of his brothers.

Dogma would have to adjust his rigid routines to fit his degrading health.

Fives would watch the same brothers he ran alongside with in battle now relaxing and being able to let those battles slide into distant memories.

All the once strong clones would deal with loss in bones mass and not being able to the same trainings and exercises they were once able to do.

"How could you not notice?" Whumpee demanded. "What do you mean you didn't notice?"

"When am I ever going to be in this situation again?" Caretaker shot back. "When is the right time to ask myself 'hey, is that Whumpee, or an evil clone of Whumpee'? Huh?"

"You should've noticed! They're acting completely different—"

"I thought you had an off day!"

"They're clearly a different person!"

"With your face!"

"I don't care that they have my face! We're done, I'm done, go be with your— replacement Whumpee."

"Whumpee, you can't be serious—"

"I'm done."

"We need to decide what to do about the clone—"

"I'm done. Decide yourself. Go cuddle it. Like you did before."

Clone whump, right? Expendable not-realy-people, no reason to treat them well when you could just get a new one, great stuff, right?

Well I had a thought. Clone/child!whumpee.

Whumper was self-aware enough to know they didn't really want a child. They wanted a mini-me with all their interests and hobbies. So, they made whumper JR (whumpee). However, whether it is because of substance abuse/trauma Whumpee wouldn't have (or, more juiceily, Whumpers own shittyness), they are a bad parent to Clone!whumpee. You get the abuse from a normal Parent!Whumper, *and* whumpee having to grapple with the fact that they aren't just related to Whumper, genetic speaking, they *are* Whumper. Will they turn out to be a terrible abuser as well? What if Whumper comits a crime and makes whumpee take the fall? Perhaps whumpee also makes a clone in an effort to be better than whumper(and maybe becomes the very thing they swore to destroy)?

Sorry if it's all over the place, I just have. So many ideas.

Oof… I do love the idea of clone whump, especially in the context of like, a dystopian, but this is a take I haven’t considered…

Whumpee seeing flashes of Whumpee not just in their actions, but all the way to their core. Feeling the cruelty and anger and emotional instability well up inside them and knowing they had all the things Whumper did.

Deciding if it was going to be two of the same going at each other, they were going to win. Whumper never thought to look inward because if they had, they would have never made a clone, but Whumpee had been acutely aware of how dangerous and awful they could be for as long as they could remember.

Whumper was about to experience a taste of their own medicine.

(And Whumpee taking over Whumpers life, assuming their identity to completely erase them from existence to undermine their desire for a legacy? Ugh, I love it.)

Whumpee was recaptured. They expected pain and torture, but what waited for them was worse.

It was themself. A duplicate made from magic or a clone made from science, it didn't matter. Whumper tells Whumpee that the imposter will be sent back in their place in order to collect more information on Caretaker.

And Whumpee will watch Caretaker fall for the ruse through the duplicate's eyes.

Two characters have the same powers. The older of the two is likely a prototype. Their powers are unrefined and damaging. They hurt themselves every time they use them.

The younger one doesn’t have as many issues using their powers, but they haven’t honed their skills. They’re still ultimately untrained and dangerous.

The oldest has to make decisions on using their power or having the younger one try theirs. They don’t want to risk the younger one’s life, but if the prototype dies, they stand no chance on their own.
