Everytime I think I'm over John Price I am reminded that I am very much not over him.

Main Masterlist | COD Main Masterlist
John Price – Captain
Loves the way his Ethiopian partner cooks spicy stews and injera; insists every mission briefing smells like home food if possible.
Deeply respectful of their family traditions; will even attempt to learn Amharic phrases or local greetings, often hilariously mispronounced.
Soft spot for music: he’ll catch himself humming traditional tunes, especially when holding their children.
Proudly shows off their heritage to the team, often boasting about his “partner’s amazing recipes” and family stories.
Sometimes teases them gently if he can’t handle spicy food, but secretly tries to recreate dishes for them.
Simon Riley – Ghost
Quietly fascinated by their culture; admires traditional clothing and jewelry, and will occasionally try wearing scarves or hats they gift him.
Loves it when they tell stories from their childhood or folklore; Ghost listens with rapt attention, sometimes asking for a translation if it’s in a native language.
Protective but affectionate: if anyone disrespects their culture or family, Ghost goes full silent rage mode.
Enjoys cooking together—he’s meticulous, and they end up laughing when he overdoes spices or misreads a recipe.
Has a habit of subtly adding small touches of their culture to his kit—like a charm or pattern on his gear—to remind him of home.
John MacTavish – Soap
Obsessed with Ethiopian coffee ceremonies; will volunteer to prepare the coffee just to spend that quiet moment with them.
Loves dancing to upbeat Afrobeat or traditional music—even if he’s terrible at it.
Always wants to meet their family, sometimes over-preparing gifts and trying to impress, often with comical results.
Finds their accent or language endearing, sometimes deliberately mixing phrases to make them laugh.
When the kids arrive, he’s the dad teaching them how to dance along with the music while making a mess in the living room.
Kyle Garrick – Gaz
A bit sarcastic and reserved, but completely smitten; secretly memorizes some local proverbs or sayings to impress them.
Enjoys trying traditional food and is surprisingly adventurous, though occasionally ends up coughing or sweating from spice.
Loves casual, cozy moments—watching Ethiopian movies or listening to music together on lazy evenings.
Gets competitive when playing local games or sports with them, often losing on purpose to make them happy.
He’s protective but low-key, letting his partner handle things while he quietly makes sure everyone is safe.
Alejandro Vargas
Romantic and attentive, he adores the colors, fabrics, and textures of Ethiopian fashion.
Takes an interest in learning about their cultural celebrations and history, sometimes surprising them with thoughtful gifts for festivals or birthdays.
Plays traditional music for them on the piano or guitar, blending it with his own style.
Very proud of their heritage, often bragging to the team in subtle ways.
Enjoys cooking with them, particularly fusion meals mixing his flavors with theirs.
Phillip Graves
Intellectual curiosity: loves discussing history, politics, and culture with them.
Enjoys learning their language or dialect, sometimes slipping words into daily conversations, which makes the partner giggle.
Appreciates their strength and independence—he is a fan of both their personality and their cultural pride.
Subtle gestures of love: bringing home traditional sweets or listening to traditional music together.
Protective, but in a calm, reassuring way; he’s the one making sure everyone knows boundaries are respected.
König
Fascinated by traditional clothing, hairstyles, and jewelry; might even commission a local artisan for a gift.
Playful and teasing: enjoys joking about trying to dance to traditional rhythms, often failing hilariously.
Admires the way they balance tradition and modern life, and supports them fiercely.
Likes family bonding: cooking together, storytelling, and introducing their culture to their children.
Shows affection through practical ways—always carrying something thoughtful from their culture or tending to small comforts.

Ghost’s comfort movie is Puss in Boots: The last wish.
Alejandro had been raving about it for a while to Soap, who became so enthusiastic about watching a good animated movie, he downloaded it and promised himself he’d see it as soon as he got time.
He did ask Ghost if he wanted to join, but after a while of no response Soap just figured he wasn’t into it. That’s fine. It was his loss anyway.
Cut to a few weeks later when Soap and Ghost had just finished an exhausting mission. They were both sitting next to each other on the plane back to base when Soap remembered the film and started watch it on a tiny screen.
Not even five minutes in Ghost’s book is long forgotten as he folds his arm and leans closer to see it. He notices Soap’s already dozing off, expected from the constant night watches the man had pulled off, and figured what the hell, he’s got nothing to lose.
The movie is fucking amazing. The minute the wolf’s whistle pierced through the air, Ghost is sold. This was his new favourite movie. And fucking hell those weapons!
There’s a sudden weight against his shoulder, and the lieutenant reflexively looks over to identify the threat. Apparently he’d been so invested in the movie he’d scooted closer to the sleeping Scot, whose head had currently fallen on his shoulder.
Relaxing his shoulder, he adjusts his position so that they’re both more comfortable before watching the movie again, and he can’t believe he’s cracking up at some of the jokes. Especially with the three bears.
And the dog was swearing.
Everything was amazing, and Ghost felt better than he had in a while.
Until that scene.
Puss’s heartbeat was hammering against his chest, with the distorted voices and colours echoing everywhere and Ghost’s body went on autopilot. It was getting too real, the fear, the adrenaline, the noises-
“Si.. , relax lad.”
Soaps eyes were still closed, but eyebrows were furrowed. His hand was gently pushing against Ghost’s rapidly bouncing leg, spreading out his fingers and gently patting the restless knee. Ghost hadn’t even noticed when that started.
Soap’s mouth was set in a frown as his hand blindly groped around before finding Ghost’s chest and slowly rubbing soothing circles around it.
Something about that was healing. It was safe, and warm, and Ghost felt himself slowly relaxing before he let out a deep breath and lay back against the seat.
And that’s when he noticed Perrito dropping his head on Puss’s chest to do the same. To keep him grounded.
Heh.. Soap was like the dog.
He glanced at Johnny, who must’ve deemed Ghost stable now because he was fast asleep again, with his hand slackening and coming to a rest on the ground, brushing against the other’s.
The movie ended not long after, and the man couldn’t help but feel disappointed. It was a fucking amazing movie, and no one would ever disrespect it unless they wanted to visit the grim reaper themselves.
It was then he became aware of his hand absentmindedly running circles on something, and he felt his breath hitch when he realised that something was Soap’s hand.
He was holding Soap’s hand.
Holy shit what the hell had that movie done to him??
But he was hesitant to move, so he reluctantly laid back, and let his thoughts wander.
Come to think of it..Price would be the old cat lady. Cuz… he kept collecting strays.
He chuckled.
When the flight ended, two things happened.
1. Soap awoke and instantly started cursing in Scottish - pissed about falling asleep before he even got to watch the movie - far too engrossed to notice who he’d been resting on, or feel Ghost’s hand quickly untangle from his.
2. Ghost started calling him Perrito. It was rare, but a nickname the other kept saying with a mischievous glint in his eyes. His tone was far too fond for it to NOT mean something, but Soap kept getting confused why Ghost was calling him an expert (Perito). It didn’t stop the blush that always crept up his face though.
And when Ghost says that over the comms and hears an amused chuckle from Alejandro, well no one really has to know..
Whenever I see Konig and Ghost content :
The things I'd do for this man. The way he makes me feel is infernal and constantly burning.
