#crowpose and #cranepose or #contractedhandstand. Perhaps one of the most hotly contested naming things in yoga(!). This is how I define them. Top pic, crow pose: elbows at 90 degrees, bottom low, chest forward, long body front and back aiming for horizontal, weight firmly through insides of knees onto back of triceps. Bottom pic, crane pose or contracted handstand: Arms as straight as possible, bottom high, chest aiming to be over hands, long body front and back but aiming for vertical, weight through shoulders and arms, aiming for light knees just resting in your armpits. Two very different shapes, both valid, both strong, and both hard! We work on this sort of thing during my monthly #handstand #workshops.
