2025 Favourites and Not

Look back at what you have done in 2025 and answer the questions. Answers are short or long as you want them to be. Artist just sub in draw for write
Favourite Character to write about/for? This is Kalen clearly. I've had such a good year developing him.
Least Favourite Character to write about/for? Nothing really comes to mind on this one. Maybe Bellara because I'm always worried I don't capture her voice like I feel I do with the others. But I still like writing her.
Favourite Pairing. Davrin and Rook should be obvious ;).
Least Favourite? This doesn't really have an answer for me.
Favourite POV and Tense. I try to stay in third person and past tense. Davrin is actually my favourite to write because of the way he views Kalen.
Something New you did this year? Actually being a proofer for someone else's stuff. I can say its fun as long as its a pairing or story I'm into. Couldn't do just anyone for sure. Also being the first to view someone's story is fun.
Something other people have told you you're good at? Combat scenes and handling scenes with multiple characters with dialogue. Which I'm proud of because I'm super insecure about some of those multi -character scenes. Gotta make sure everyone gets their flowers.
Something you think you're good at? I've always been very confident in my romantic scenes.
Something you want to improve on? Something I've improved on already is making sure not to use extra words for the sake of it. Something my proofer has pointed out a lot for me and I've gotten miles better from where I was. So keep going on that.
Favourite Thing you read this year? @master-of-the-elements 's Amir X Davrin was my fav fic. Otherwise the Horror of Hormak was my favourite published read. I didn't have much time for reading this year because of all the studying I had to do so will likely get into more this year.
Favourite Event you did this year? I don't know if this counts but the OC as a Companion I did for Kalen was my probably my favourite!
Favourite song you listen to while you write/get you in the mood to write? I have an entire playlist on youtube that basically consists of videos that are 3-10 hours long. The point of it is to get my mind to relax and let the writing flow. For example one of them is just the camp music from Baldurs Gate 3 for 8 hours. Another is just titled Epic Fantasy battle theme. I go through the playlist based on my mood. I have ones for sad scenes, love scenes and so on. It helps a ton! It's also public so if anyone wants it. HERE! It's called Relax and Write.
Favourite type of Fic to write? I mostly like depicting the characters just living their lives, so I guess that's fluff. But also angst. There's a couple parts of my fic that I straight up cried while writing. Specifically Parts 3, 8, 14, 27, and 30 which hasn't gone up yet. The Room
She has just shown me a movie. I didn't know it, but that movie would become my favorite movie ever made. "I know you'd love it." She says enthusiastically. I smile, knowing she knows me well. "You were right. I loved every minute of it." For once I'm not just sayin that when someone shows me sonething I'd like, it's pretty rare I actually care about something. I want to tell her I love her. But I don't. That would scarae her away. Instead, I just look at her. I light a cigarette. Soon I'll make dinner, and then tomorrow will come and she'll have to leave my town for hers. Somwtimes I think about going with her. For good. But I won't do that for another two months or so. She laughs and melted into the floor. My heartbeat raced like it was part of cocaine surgery. It explodes in my chest. A firework of pure love. I kiss her cheek and the electricity is ust as stron as it was that very first kiss in the parking lot. "Hungry?" I ask getting up off the couch. The main menu to the movie repeats itself. "Very much so." She says, lighting a cigarette. The smoke dances like liquid as it floats in stale apartment. My roommate won't be home until four AM. It's just her and I.
I step into the small kitchen and begin making our dinner. We're having vegan sloppy joes. It pairs well with the cabernet. I guess I could have come up with something better, but the truth is, I didn't think I'd ever get this far. The smell of cooking food fills the air as she walks into the kitchen. For once, I'm not irritated that someone else is in the kitchen with me. The opposite actually. I feel comforted knwoing she is near. I continue cooking and we joke and laugh, sharing in moments that were as friagile as sugar glass. My back is turned to her as her laugh fills the kitchen with it's angel like cong. I am smiling, and actually mean it. This hasn't happened in over four years, but I am not faking it this time. I am warm. I am safe. "Don't you measure?" She asked has I poured spiced into the bubbling sauce. "Nope. I eyeball it all." I laughed back at her. It seemed all our conversations were made of laughter. Or they always became laughter. "What am I going to do with you?" She sighed. I went to stir the Boca crumbles we had gotten earlier at the grocery store. "Whatever you want." The words left my mouth before I knew what I was saying. Luckily, she only laughed harder at this. And then the silence came. It was quiet in the kitchen, other than the sounds of eveything frying and boiling. I take a bit on a spoon to have her taste it. I turn around slowly. I don't want to spill. I am halfway through the turn. "I think I love you." She says, as if the words were weightless. I freeze, unsure what to do now. I drop the wooden spoon and it bounce off the floor, shooting sauce in all directions. My lips are on hers before either of us really knew what had happened. I kissed with wanton desire, and she returned. Our tongues danced, counting teeth with tastebuds. We make it to the couch. The movie is playing over again. "Oh hi Mark" the tv says has her clothes fall to the floor. "You're tearing me apart Lisa!" "I'm fed up with this world!" Everything vanishes. Other than her and I and the movies endlessly horrible script. And that's the resson "The Room" is my favorite movie ever.
I am but a mere reflection of all the love life has given me.
