Can we have a what-if scenario for Royal Consort?
Danny stares at Phantom, feeling a sort of numbness in his chest that might be grief processing, but he isn't sure. In his future self's arms, in the broken body of his sister, ripped open by the portal, and left her like a freshly created bear skin throw rug.
Except Jazz wasn't a bear, and Danny felt sick to his stomach.
Phantom's eyes were flashing a dangerous green, looking far more sinister than Dan ever did. He glared at Danny like he was about to call upon his judgment day. Dannny wasn't sure he deserved to be considered innocent, let alone innocent.
"I told you." Phantom hissed, "To not trust the Waynes."
His words were nearly drowned out by the screams of the humans being invaded, a roaring wave. The heroes are fighting with all their might, but it is clear they will not be victorious.
His world was burning. His people were going to be stolen, sold, and treated like pets.
And it was all because Danny accepted one dance with Tim Drake instead of searching the manor. He had not stopped the butler from getting to his sister.
"I'm sorry," Danny whispers, tears rolling down his face as he falls to his knees. He doesn't react to the glass digging into his flesh. Doesn't even seem to be aware of it as he begs, "I'm sorry."
"You should be. You ruined everything." Phantom's words are like whips striking against him. Sharp. Quick. Cutting. He watches his older self float closer, features melting like ice left out in the sun. His previous humanoid face drips down his front and onto Jazz's body, leaving Danny to stare at a version of his face he could not recognize.
Phantom's eyes have turned from bright neon green to a deep, emberized blaze, and his voice is spoken as if more than one person is within him. They overlapped each other, not one being faster or slower, and shivers ran down Danny's spine as Phantom hissed, "You ruined my plan. But it's fine. With Clockwork's help, I can always start again."
"What- what do you mean-"
Danny Fenton's last words were cut off with ice made of his own blood, ripping him apart within, ending his life similarly to his beloved sister. King Phantom dropped her body over his dead husband and, with one disgusted look at the screaming humans, ripped open a miniature green portal, swinging an amulet in one hand casually.
On the other side of the portal, the inside of a car can be seen as well as a living Danny Fenotn scrambling to escape a group of paparazzi with the help of the Waynes. He put on a bright smile and threw himself through.
"Darling! I felt you in distress! What happened?! Shall I punish everyone in Gotham?" He shouts just as he vanishes. His portal closes up slowly, almost mockingly, leaving this world to its fate.
