Okay so idk what I'm gonna do with this blog but I felt the need to blog about this and I got my partner(s) permission so, this is a plurality blog! Mostly for the funny/light side of things, because dating a trans guy who has a literal Magneto living in their head is wildly funny to me (to both of us, really).
So some background (long post incoming):
Erik is largely, we reckon, a cohost. I'm going to call the actual host Passerine. They have a little, a depression holder, and other alters and fictives that appear and disappear, but I won't talk about them without their explicit permission.
Passerine started to have more visible plural symptoms in the past year, but (as complex dissociation tends to be covert) it's very likely Erik has been around longer.
I got Passerine into the x-men, and they've been my rp buddy since we were in high school. I have/had a self insert oc that I self-shipped with Magneto (source) for years, before Passerine and I became friends and started dating. We would rp conversations between Magneto (source) and my oc, Vera. And Passerine like, really got into it. Shipped them almost more than I did. Loved how I wrote them, and loved talking about/being Erik.
I guess so much that Erik (alter) formed.
Realizing my partner of over 4 years had an alter of one of my f/o's feels as absurd to us as it sounds, trust. His source is kind of amorphously Michael Fassbender's magneto and animated series + x-men '97 magneto, because how we've written him in our adaptation of the marvel universe, live action magneto becomes animated magneto, same timeline. And Vera, my oc, is the same way — live action movies lead to animated series.
When Erik (alter) started fronting, he was wholly aware that I am Vera, Vera is me. Wife is still wife shaped, and he's whipped. I mean, Passerine and I are in love and have been for years, but Erik is totally infatuated.
I DIDN'T FORCE HIM OR EXPECT HIM TO BE OBSESSED WITH ME BY THE WAY, THAT'S ALL THE SYSTEM!! We've had a very healthy and arguably normal highschool romance, but now I'm a disabled blogger with cats and he's trans and plural. with a magneto fictive. Who's been in love with me without my knowing for years.
Basically our highschool sweetheart romance was so honest to god that when he started showing plurality (I'm not going to say *became* plural because he's been plural his whole life, we just didn't realize it) he unconsciously made an entire fictive of my f/o who's primary function is to (besides cohosting) be in love with me, their partner. It feels unreal writing it, I can't imagine how it feels to read this. Like my f/o got isekai'd into my irl partners body. Quan Millz could never.
So, given the absurdity of it all, I've made this blog.
Key:
Me, aka Possum, they/she, nonbinary femme, Acespec bisexual. Singular. I have AuDHD and C-PTSD, with dissociative symptoms. I have an undiagnosed autoimmune condition and hypermobility.
Passerine, the main host, they/he, nonbinary transmasc, Bisexual. His plurality isn't diagnosed because trying to find a complex trauma and dissociation specialist that takes insurance in a Deep South state is damn near impossible, but his symptoms don't match the DSM-5's description of DID, so we kinda just have to function as if we know it's OSDD. Undiagnosed autistic. Likely the remixed version of the prior host, Wren. Its hard to tell. We've been together 5 years in October.
Erik. The fictive of Erik Lensherr. He/him, trans man, almost apallingly straight. He knows he's not his source, and is relatively content with not being in his source universe, but he is still, yknow. Magneto.
