It was the first book that I read by Juliet Marillier and I really liked her writing style. It is a reimagining of the Six Swans myth and it is very well done. We follow Sorcha , a seventh child, as she tries to complete her quest and defeat the curse that was laid upon them. The book is a little slow paced at the beginning but then it picks up. I loved the world building and the descriptions as well as the characters. Sorcha is a great female character. Hi there! Long time no post! But truth be told, I haven’t been reading at all since I finished Normal People a couple of weeks ago. My mind has been elsewhere with the whole move to the UK and I haven’t felt like picking up a book. . I’ve been listening to Killing Commendatore but truth be told, I’m not sure how I feel about it. I first discovered Juliet Marillier my sophomore year while browsing my high school's library for my next read. I picked up #daughteroftheforest and I've been a fan ever since. I come back to #thesevenwaterstrilogy time and time again. It's like comfort food for me, especially during the fall season. It makes me feel all warm and cozy and satiates that need for a good a book starring strong female leads, swoony romance, complicated family dynamics, and a storyline that spans generations with an epic conclusion.
