I like Joey a lot because he’s one of the only cases in media where a character has Trichotillomania which is something I myself have suffered with for over a decade. (Not on my head however like Joey)

Trichotillomania is the act of pulling your own hair out typically due to stress

When I first read the comic I was so shocked I kept coming back to it again and again. No one ever talks about it which I assume is because it’s quite a niche thing but it means the world to me and also adds to his character. He clearly has a lot of pent up anxiety.

I can imagine him wearing a lot of hats to avoid touching his head. For me, covering agitated spots helps.
