Fun fact: out of all the Felinette fanfics by San_fics that I’ve read, my first pick for translation has always been “COZplay.” But it got pushed aside by a “Fresh Look” because of the chapter count (14/4). Back then, of course, I didn’t pay any attention to the word count (16,549/15,613) 😅
This is actually very funny 😁 'cause when I first started writing for this fandom, my chapters were around 1k words. Now the AVERAGE chapter size is 3-5k, but there are giants like 6-8k. So in my case you always need to look at the word count 😁🤷🏼♀️
Alya: You and Felix have such a wonderful relationship, girl!
Alya: Fess up, what’s your secret?
Marinette: Very simple, Alya, we regularly go to the circus.
Alya: That's all?
Alya: Why the circus? There are also theaters, operas and all that!
Marinette: Well, you asked about our relationships.
Marinette: Only at the circus can we properly look at our relationships from the outside...
Damian: Now at night I am pressed on one side by Marinette, and on the other by Alfred the cat
Jon: if you want, you can push everyone away
Damian: My cat usually wants it more than I do...
Jason: I have a rich vocabulary, it includes the words "oxymoron", "clepsydra", "granular" and even "pernicious".
Jason: But some thoughts I simply can't put into words.
Jason: I just want to take a shovel handle and beat the shit out of everyone…
[On the subject of quantum physics, group chat]
Tim: guys, I won't be on patrol tonight
Tim: working from home, waiting for the repairman
Dick: will you get to the Batcave by midnight?
Tim: I'll try, but I can't guarantee it
Tim: in my experience, repairmen work according to the laws of quantum mechanics…
Damian: why?
Damian: is it impossible to measure their position in space and speed simultaneously?
Jason: no, that’s because repairmen work and don't work at the same time, depending on the presence of an observer!
Dick: well, that's understandable, they're fixing a quantum toilet, which both leaks and doesn't leak at the same time
Jason: also depending on the presence of the same observer
Tim: especially when the quantum toilet is quantum entangled with the switch in the bedroom
Tim: only one of them works at a time
Dick: as expected, most likely they were made in the same factory in China
Tim: in short, if anything, I tunnel by phone
Jason: I wonder what B would say if I said the case was both closed and not closed at the same time
Dick: that you got into trouble and got out of it at the same time
Tim: the problem is that it also depends on the observer
Jason: why is it a problem?
Tim: because B is ALWAYS OBSERVING

The grey color of the glass gradually changed to half green half blue, and at the top of the building a huge terrace with vertical gardens appeared, like a picture from some movie about a luxurious life.
“It’s in honor of the color of our eyes,” Felix explained, glancing back at her again, and Marinette realized that she had completely forgotten that he was orchestrating all these changes, transforming the building in front of her.
Marinette shook her head, trying to understand what he meant, because even in a dream such a soft voice from Felix and such a friendly behavior seemed something completely incredible and puzzled her. “Excuse me?” She muttered in confusion.
“The color of the windows,” the man explained, nodding towards the building. “I changed it so that it reflected the color of both your eyes and mine at once. It’s symbolic, don’t you think?”
Marinette didn't think it was symbolic. She thought it was all very atypical, and confusing, and a little weird. That's what she thought.
“How do you do that?” She asked, for now more curious about this than in what color the windows were and why. “You change everything so easily. It’s impossible!”
Felix smiled. But it wasn’t as if he wanted to show that he knew a secret that she didn’t, but as if he was inviting her to enter this secret with him. “We're in a dream,” he explained, “Haven't you noticed? In dreams we can create our reality without delay, in a moment. Literally.”
“Are you saying that our real reality can also be created like this, just by our own will?!” She blurted out, finally catching the elusive meaning his words implied.

Marinette walked through an unfamiliar city in an unknown direction, but she walked confidently, as if she knew where to go and felt that this was exactly where she needed to be.

The classroom door swung open and an excited blond man in a formal suit, very reminiscent of Adrien Agreste, ran into the room.
While the entire class, including Adrien himself, were doing a double take on him, the blond rushed to the second desk, from which the class rep had already risen, her eyes shining with surprise and joy.
“There was still a whole hour left,” she protested, nevertheless allowing the blond to envelop her in his arms, “You didn’t have to come here,” she insisted as her arms wrapped around his neck, confidently settling there as if she wasn’t planning on letting him go, clearly contradicting her own words.
“I know, I know,” he muttered, still trying to calm his breathing, “But I couldn’t wait.”
“Me neither,” she admitted, her happy smile growing wider. “Thank you,” the last words were barely audible and almost lost somewhere between her lips and his, as the blond pulled the girl into a long, tender kiss in front of her confused classmates and the equally confused teacher.

Marinette came to her senses only when Felix was already kissing her.
It was probably a bit of atypical behavior on her part, she thought, finally tearing herself away from the lips she had wanted to kiss for what seemed like an eternity. She sent Miss Bustier a sheepish smile and, trying not to meet the eyes of her classmates, and especially her best friend’s, dragged Felix into the hallway under the hum of noisy voices.
“You should have waited for me in the park!” She whisper-shouted when the classroom door closed behind her and she and Felix found themselves in the abandoned hallway. “How am I supposed to explain this to all those people now?!”
“I don’t care what I should or shouldn’t have done,” Felix retorted, clearly convinced of his rightness. “I wasn't gonna wait all day for that bloody Akuma to decide to show up so that you would finally come to me! Tomorrow they'll forget about it anyway,” he reminded her.

She stands in a dark alley.
She doesn’t remember how she got here. She doesn’t know what’s happening. She doesn’t even remember who she is. She only knows that she needs to run.
She turns around at the sound and sees a shock of blonde hair, and immediately jerks to run down a street she doesn’t remember.
“Wait!” Someone shouts behind her, but it only forces her to run faster, making sharp turns between houses.
She breathes heavily, her back pressed against a wall in another alley. She doesn’t understand how she got here, she doesn’t remember anything that happened to her before she found herself in that alley. The only thought in her head is terrible.
‘You are nobody,’ a persistent voice sounds in her mind stubbornly over and over again. ‘You are a failure, you aren’t capable of anything.’
===
Something was clearly wrong.
He didn’t remember what tricks he used to get down the fire escape in such a short time, but as he ran towards the house the heroine was on, she was already jumping down to the ground, the former Akuma in her arms.
Felix couldn't say why he was running after her either.
It wasn’t even some kind of valor or a sense of injustice, nor was it a knightly attempt to save a barely familiar woman from danger when her partner was absent. But he had an oppressive premonition of something wrong, as if it personally concerned him and threatened him with danger, and he never ignored the voice of his own intuition.
The heroine dove into the alley, and as Felix approached, he saw a red flash of light, suspecting that Ladybug had decided to detransform in order to not be such a visible target for Akuma, who clearly didn’t like the color of her suit. It was a stupid idea, if you ask him, because as a civilian she would definitely not be able to fight, or even dodge, and there was no guarantee that the red color was the only incentive for pursuing her.
As Felix was already turning the corner, a small red lump of something flashed in the air next to the girl at the end of the alley, and then disappeared, in her bag it seemed. But one of the lights that had been chasing Ladybug before flew past Felix, overtaking him and pierced the woman's back, probably aiming at this red lump that had already hidden.
The girl cringed, as if she had been pushed hard in the chest, but instantly straightened up, looking around in fear, as if she was surrounded by monsters that only she could see.

Marinette came to her senses in her room, tiny ladybugs scattering in the air around her in a familiar melting cloud.
What was unfamiliar was that she didn't remember how she got to her room, or why her parents were there, too, rushing to hug her.
She raised her hands to her ears, making sure that there were no earrings in them, although she had some kind of body memory, as if she already knew it. Besides, someone had to use Miraculous Ladybugs to restore the city while she was in her room without her suit, so…
[From the experience of living as a single woman in Gotham]
Marinette: Today I received such psychological trauma...
Marinette: This morning I wanted to take out the trash. So I went to a huge trash can, trying to push a bag into one of its side holes, but it didn't fit. And then two black hands stuck out of the can and pulled it towards themselves. I involuntarily grabbed the bag, just out of fear, and a hoarse voice from the can said to me: “Well, why are you holding it, give it here!”
Marinette: For a second it flashed through my head that instead of pink jeans I should have worn brown ones...
Marinette: I ran about 10 meters away and looked back at this orc shelter. There was just a homeless guy who climbed into this dumpster and was taking bottles out of bags and putting them in the corner.
Marinette: I honestly don't know when I'll get used to the peculiarities of Gotham life...
