It's been almost a week since Danny had last seen his fraid. Being kept within these white sterile walls he sees everyday since being captured. His parents are working with the GIW and they began to cut him open as soon as they could. They captured him on his 20th birthday.
He's the Ghost King, but still growing into the powers he got with it. But as soon as he feels the bonds of his fraid get very weak, he loses it and breaks free because of the power surge he gets from his emotions.
When he makes it to Jazz, Sam, and Tucker, he sees that they're dying because of the scientists also cutting them open. But before he could do anything drastic, Clockwork had appeared. He had said that there is a way to save his fraidmates, but it comes with a price. Clockwork will need to take their memories and de-age them, that will save his fraid, but they won't be the same people he knew.
Clockwork has domain over memories and other related memory things, as over time, memories are made. And Clockwork has offered to alter the memories of all in Amity, GIW and Fenton Parent's included, to where the people known as Daniel Fenton, Jasmine Fenton, Tucker Foley, and Samantha Manson don't exist, and to have the memories of many people and things altered to have Danny Nightingale to have been here this whole time, along with his adopted children.
He took that offer, if he were a normal Halfa, he would've had to give his entire core to Clockwork, but since he's the Ghost King, he only had to give a small portion of his core to the Time Ghost. Sure he'll have to deal with some minor problems, like pain whenever he gets too emotional, tires easily, and less strength for at least a few decades. His core will fill in the missing piece in that time.
And now, he's in Gotham, where he got new memories from Clockwork to make his new life more believable. He's a Gothamite that grew up in Crime Alley at first, but was adopted by a couple that moved to Metropolis, as that's where he could get the required treatment for his condition. Danny came back to his Gloomy city to live in it with his new adopted children, as his condition had gotten better
He may have done something wrong in the months he's been living in Gotham, as the Bats of Gotham seen be always near him whenever he seems to be in any sort of trouble. At least he reconnected with a "friend" he made when he was still living in Gotham back then.
Oh, the Riddler's interest was a bit peaked today, possibly another reporter about the last fight he had with Red Robin or another fanatic giving him ideas again.
Only he wasn't expecting his sister, Maddie Fenton, to be there looking worse for wear in a celebration ruined dress, her tan skin a bit pale with a bit of faded bruising here and there.
Her orange hair was a mess with bags under her eyes, her makeup wasn lightly done today but she had a big smile as she was holding onto two sleeping babies in a twin baby sling and a little little boy peaking upward as he was babbled a bit trying to pull himself up the counter table to make his head reach above it as slightly older girl trying to shush him.
He knew his cousin had two teenage kids, Jazz and Danny, the last time she visited him two years ago as she break down saying she had been hunting down her son without knowing he was phantom or that he died and that he became king of some sort, and the thoughts ran like a speeding train in his mind as Eddie can see that Riddler was not needed yet.
"Code PIT happened, didn't it?" Eddie said as quietly as he could, so none of the security heard what he said.
Maddie's smile faltered a bit as she nodded a bit, licking her lips to speak softly.
"They ambushed Danny's high school graduation Today. they captured Vlad, which was why he wasn't talking to us for the past year and broke through the Fenton alert system using his ecto and blood. It was bloodbath of both of both kinds, and Jack luckily and stupidly always brought his hidden weapons with him at all times that actually brought us time to escape.
"I need one of your hideouts at least, temporary until I can rebuilt the portal for Danny at least, Tucker has the blueprints, since he has backup plans in case this happens and our house is no more at the moments.
"But they hit my babies with this new test ray gun they got, and it regressed their ages backward as you can see, and they tried to take my babies, Eddy." Maddie finishing whispering her side of the story.
Eddie sighed a bit in his hand a bit.
"And you wonder why I changed my last name, Mad Maddy? Which hideout do you need?" Eddie mumbled, looking up a bit, hiding his smile from the camera view as maddie thought about it.
"The one with the fancy tub?" Maddie pointed out as Eddie groaned this time in his hands for real.
"Damn, I was going to use that hideout for the next break out, ugghh. Fine, fine, you already know where the traps are, including the hidden ones?"
"The one with the rapidly expanding inflatable question mark duck 2.0 that spitting out acid and room full of hanging questions mark that explod when you pick the wrong one, the drop into a large cave nest full of Jack's last year mutated meatloaves that can only be pacified by singing pretty baby and the mirror maze that isn't a maze but going around in a straight circle due to mirrors being holograms to change a bit to 2 inches? You got sloppy, Eddy."
"..."
"This is why you're not mewmaws favorite, always spoiling my fun." Eddy grumbled, crossing his arms a bit before waving at little jazzy holding out question shaped cookie coated in green sprinkles.
How was he supposed to know that bursting through a wall in a hazmat suit and carrying a Fenton Bazooka would get people to assume he was a criminal?
It was a perfectly reasonably situation! Seriously, it was like these people had never seen a ghost hunter before.
Besides, he just wanted information!
One moment, their family been at home working, and the next, they were in a whole different universe! And to add to the weirdness, the kids had been aged down too!
Do you know how annoying it is to take care of a toddler that can turn invisible and intangible at will? Very!
So he really doesn’t have time for all this hubbub.
Welp.
This didn’t look like it was going anywhere, and thriving through (entirely unnecessary) chaos has always been a part of the Fenton way. Might as well run with it.
…plus, if anything, stealing the parts they need would likely be quicker and easier than obtaining them legally.
Pepper Potts prided herself on her ability to adapt. She’d survived Tony Stark’s post-cave existentialism, Stark Expo 2010, the entirety of the Avengers Initiative, and several global cataclysms. But nothing—absolutely nothing—prepared her for the day she received a glowing scroll via flaming raven at 3 a.m. It exploded into glitter and legal jargon the second she touched it.
The Temporal Child Reassignment Authority—TCRA for short, like an IRS from hell with better penmanship—had declared her the legal guardian of four de-aged minors, all results of an “interdimensional ghost war and subsequent reality collapse.” The document even included a family tree, pointing out her half-sister Maddie Fenton as their maternal parent. The kicker? Three of the children were meta-class ecto-beings. And the fourth was an “anomalous prodigy with cognitive potential exceeding known human thresholds.”
Pepper blinked at the words, reread them, and poured herself the strongest wine she owned.
By the time she finished the bottle, her living room shimmered with unnatural frost, and a swirling green portal opened with the subtlety of a chainsaw. Out stumbled four children—if one could use such a soft word for what appeared to be three weapons of mass destruction and a tiny, furious psychologist in the making.
Jazz was nine years old, with blazing red hair in a ponytail so tight it looked like a weapon. Her eyes scanned the room with military precision. She was holding a notebook, already scribbling down assessments.
Dan, aged seven, had black-and-white hair that flickered between forms, red eyes glowing faintly, and a permanent scowl that screamed war criminal in a booster seat. His tiny boot crushed a Stark Industries coaster underfoot.
Danny, five, looked like an overcaffeinated sugar cube in a “Ghostbusters are Bigots” shirt. He levitated six inches off the ground, phasing through the coffee table like it offended him personally.
And Dani—dear sweet baby Dani—was three, wore a tutu over her jumpsuit, and was gnawing on a Stark tech screwdriver like a teething raptor. It sparked. She giggled.
Pepper stared.
Tony wandered in wearing Iron Man pajama pants and blinked at the chaos.
“Huh. Why do I suddenly feel like a dad?”
Pepper stood up and handed him the scroll.
Ten minutes later, Tony was grinning like a proud, chaotic uncle who just realized he’d inherited a feral army. “Oh, I love them.”
“I want to kill Maddie,” Pepper muttered. “I want to re-kill her if she’s already dead. I don’t care. I will unearth her soul and yell.”
Jazz looked up from her notes. “Statistically, yelling is ineffective when dealing with narcissistic sociopaths with academic degrees. But I can write up an interrogation protocol if you give me twenty minutes and a war room.”
Tony looked at her like she was a gift from God. “Pepper. She’s a baby you.”
“She’s a terrifying baby me.”
“I love her.”
Dan crossed his arms, floating ominously. “I’m only here because they said I can’t go back to the timeline where I killed everyone.”
Dani beamed. “I like juice!”
Danny phased up to the ceiling fan. “Does this house have ghost-repellent death lasers like the last one? I hate those.”
Tony raised an eyebrow. “You got hit by ghost-repellent death lasers?”
Pepper was already dialing every Avenger in existence. “Tony. Tony, their parents worked with the GIW.”
“The what?”
Jazz narrowed her eyes. “The Ghost Investigation Ward. They are basically interdimensional fascists who want to wipe out all ghosts and hybrid anomalies. Also, they tried to vivisect us.”
Tony blinked. “Vivisect?”
“Scalpels, restraints, anti-ecto shackles, and a man named Agent O who smells like ham and crime,” Jazz said flatly.
“I’m going to kill someone,” Pepper muttered, pacing. “I’m going to launch an HR-approved war.”
Dani blinked. “Are we allowed to bite?”
“No,” Pepper said.
“Yes,” Tony said at the same time.
Dani cheered.
By the time Natasha arrived, Dani was in the air vents, Danny had short-circuited the AI, Dan was brooding in the fireplace like a Dickensian ghost of vengeance, and Jazz was lecturing FRIDAY on ethical protocol failure.
Natasha stood in the entryway, staring, her eyes wide with either horror or admiration.
“Pepper. Did you birth little Widows?”
“No,” Pepper said tightly. “They’re Maddie’s kids. Maddie’s. As in, I share DNA with them and now legally own them. Apparently.”
Jazz tilted her head. “Ms. Romanoff. I’ve analyzed your fight patterns from Battle of New York and determined you have unresolved trauma related to institutional betrayal. Would you like to unpack that?”
Tony leaned over. “She’s nine.”
“She scares me,” Natasha whispered.
Bucky showed up next and read the full report Jazz had printed out for him, complete with footnotes, photos, and color-coded trauma timelines.
The super soldier sat down, dead-eyed. “I just had a Hydra flashback from a PowerPoint.”
Jazz gave him a lollipop. “That’s a common symptom. I recommend candy and validation.”
Dan muttered something about weak mortals and floated upside down through a wall.
“I like him,” Bucky said faintly.
Steve walked in, saw Dan breathing ectoplasmic fire at the neighbor’s cat, and noped back out.
Wanda arrived and blinked at Jazz, whose psychic aura flared like a dying star every time she got emotional.
They stared at each other for a long time.
“I sense wrath,” Wanda said.
Jazz nodded. “I contain multitudes.”
Pepper was halfway through arranging a legal drone strike on the GIW when Rhodey FaceTimed her. “Hey, uh, why is CNN reporting that four tiny gods have occupied New York and turned the Stark Tower into a haunted war bunker?”
“They’re children,” Pepper said.
Tony poked his head into frame. “Children who can melt tanks.”
Danny flew by holding the Iron Man helmet upside down like a bowl of cereal.
“Dani just set the couch on fire,” Pepper added, dead-eyed.
Rhodey blinked. “I’ll bring extinguishers.”
The thing about children, Pepper had learned, is that they operate entirely on vibes, sugar, and trauma. And these four had plenty of all three. Jazz was terrifyingly competent, and within a week had formed an inter-Avengers child committee, wrote a new AI ethics guideline, and had Bruce Banner signing waivers just to talk to her.
Dan blew up a parking meter because it “looked at him wrong.”
Danny asked Tony if they could build an ecto-bazooka together and promised not to use it on Steve “unless Steve said ghosts weren’t real again.”
Dani tried to use her powers to possess a Roomba and ride it into battle.
Pepper walked in on all four of them forming a pact to “annihilate GIW headquarters” with something called Operation Ghost Buster Buster.
Tony approved instantly.
Pepper did not.
“Pepper,” Tony said. “We have kids now.”
“We have war orphans now.”
“They’re adorable!”
“They’re armed.”
“They’re basically Avengers Junior.”
Dani crashed through the ceiling riding a ghost dragon she “found in the laundry room.”
“I changed my mind,” Pepper muttered. “They’re perfect.”
Pepper flew to Amity Park a week later, dressed in corporate armor and rage. She walked into the Fenton household with Natasha, Bucky, and a glowing legal team of literal demons (Tony’s idea) and found Maddie and Jack cheerfully explaining how ecto-dissection worked on “halflings.”
When Maddie smiled and said, “It’s science, dear,” Pepper threw her coffee in Maddie’s face.
Tony had to hold her back while Bucky dismantled the Fenton portal and Natasha found enough surveillance footage to convict them of several counts of attempted child murder.
Jazz watched the entire thing from the jet via livestream, calmly taking notes.
“Pepper’s my favorite aunt,” she said.
Dan nodded. “She has potential.”
Danny was asleep on Tony’s shoulder, clutching a ghost plushie.
Dani was drawing herself riding a unicorn with a flame thrower.
The Avengers voted unanimously to make the kids honorary members. Jazz requested clearance access to S.H.I.E.L.D.’s trauma archives and got it. Dan received therapy. Danny built a ghost-safe treehouse. Dani declared herself queen of the Stark kitchen and banned kale.
Pepper watched them play in the yard one day and finally exhaled.
“I don’t know what the hell I’m doing,” she whispered.
Tony grinned. “You’re doing fine.”
Jazz ran by wielding a dagger made of solidified ghost energy.
Danny chased her screaming something about shared custody of the Lunchables.
Dan floated overhead like a sullen storm cloud.
Dani cackled, flying past them on her Roomba dragon.
“Honestly we should always be concerned about him, but what made you realize it this time?”
“Have you seen his search history- wait no you haven’t you haven’t been in the cave all day, look at this-”
“...'Is it legal to adopt the ghost of a kid? Can someone call CPS on a family’s ghost? How to take care of ghosts 101? How do you get a ghost of a child to not be scared? What to do if you find ghost children in your home? What the fuck…?”
“Exactly, I think he needs an intervention.”
Or in other words, after getting thrown into another dimension thanks to the GIW destroying most of Amity, a trio of ghost children decide to crash in this seemingly abandoned apartment building. No one seems to live here anyway…
Tim Drake on the other hand, gets a notification that there’s someone in his main safehouse that he might’ve slightly forgotten about thanks to having his house-boat now, and sees a trio of starved looking ghost kids
This has a lot of de aging and if you don’t like that, scroll :))
So Danny, Jazz, Dante (Dan) and Ellie (Dani) all get deaged (either by the Fentons or GIW)
Jazz is now 9, Danny is now 7, Dante is now 11 and Ellie is 5.
Their memories are somewhat intact, but they don’t really remember who they are. (All have their halfa/liminal powers)
They somehow escape and end up being separated (via powers, ghostly meddling, etc)
Jazz ends up in Bludhaven
Danny in San Francisco
Dante in Crime Alley
and Ellie in Gotham
So in this AU, all the Batboys are adults
Dick is 38, Jason 35, Tim is 32, and Damian 23.
And in this AU, they just had a huggeeeeee argument with each other and with Bruce, so they’re not speaking much.
Nightwing across a girl no older than 9 fending off three adult men with ease. Definitely a meta human. Dick ends up taking the kid home when he realizes she wants revenge (from what, Dick doesn’t know) and he sees too much of himself in the kid to let her go. Wally and Jazz get along great.
Jason feels someone watching him, and he confronts them only to find aggravated it’s an 11 year old boy, with white hair just like him. After the kid drops some concerning information about Jason’s dead status (Dante telling Jason he’s liminal). Lian won’t mind a new brother, right?
Kon comes across a scared kid, who ends up throwing him into a car before he calms down and introduces himself as Danny. Kon brings him home and he and Tim sets up the spare bedroom with space blankets.
Damian, patrolling as Blackbird, comes across a girl in a dumpster, having fallen in on accident. When Damian pulls her out, she begins melting in his arms before regaining solidness and passing out. There’s no sign of the girls parents anywhere, so Damian takes her in. At least Jon likes her
A few months, the GIW came to the Justice League to inform them about four dangerous ghosts that escaped confinement and are now running free. They need the Leauges help to recapture them.
Bruce doesn’t buy it. After asking to see a sample of ‘ectoplasm’, he realizes all of his kids are ecto entities and have no basic human rights.
He calls a family meeting and watches as four of his sons arrive with a kid each.
it was dpxdc, and clockwork had sent and de-aged both danny and jazz to Gotham, but Jazz had been sent back further than danny had. She also met poison ivy and then the rest of The Sirens she also had a thermos with cujo in it and let him out with instructions to find danny,
one of the scenes I can remember most was danny and cujo at a park in Crime Alley playing fetch and scarring the absolute crap out of Jason due to cujo being in his big form
Oh, the author made a Spotify Playlist and put a link to it in the authors note
Y’all know the whole TUE timeline and how it is fanon that Dan and Ellie are like Danny’s kids? And Jazz is their aunt? And there are a bunch of aus where they are taking care of them while hiding from Vlad/Bad Fentons/GIW?
Well, consider the opposite(sort of): Danny and Jazz are de aged, and Dan is taking care of them, with Ellie as an aunt. The catch? Dan looks about seventeen, Ellie looks 16, Jazz looks four and Danny looks 2. Currently, they’re on the run from the GIW, but Vlad is also on their tail.
Now, most time travelers know that Dan’s family were dead. But it’s one thing to know Dan had family and another to meet his daughter and infant son during a trip to the Planetarium.
Wait, how old is his daughter? How old is Dan? And who is this middle aged vampire looking man trying to kidnap his infant son?
