Riddle: OCD, PTSD. This boy's compulsions control his life. I love the chibi skit at the end of the anime where he's trying to stay late after lunch and his body is physically reacting to the stress of it. I'm glad he's working on it very proud of him!

Azul: PTSD, Mobility Aid User. Having to go from 8 limbs to 2 was more drastic a change for him than normal fish-type mermen. Also potential post-overblot pain/nerve damage. I love Azul cosplayers in wheelchairs or using canes yall keep slaying!!

I can see him synthesizing his own insulin and working on medicines on the cauldron. Uses his platform to raise awareness. Has different glucose monitor covers to match outfits.

✨️Pippin Congenital Anosmia headcanons✨️

Growing up, it was common for others not to believe him because it sounded made up

Even his own family didn't believe him for many years until he got sprayed by a skunk and he couldn't figure out why everyone was reacting funny

Whenever he had to eat something he didn't like or take medicine, his parents would tell him to hold his nose shut so it wouldn't taste as bad, but he always thought they were lying because it never worked for him

Merry is his personal 'sniffer' and makes sure the foods he eats are safe and not spoiled

One time Pippin was feeling out of it and sick and stepped outside for some fresh air, feeling better afterward. Merry had to inform him he had a gas leak in his home

"Here, smell this, Pip- oh, right," is something he hears a lot

Pippin once had made himself a bowl of cereal and Merry quickly had to take it out of his hands because the milk was rancid

Pippin will take meats over to Merry's house and ask him to sniff-check them before he cooks them, just to make sure they're safe (my mama used to make me do this bc neither of us can smell)

Sometimes he gets confident that he doesn't need Merry and ends up sick later after eating something bad. Merry has to constantly remind him that it's okay that he needs help, and that he truly doesn't mind

"I'd much rather be your nose everyday than you get sick from eating rotten foods, so start bringing your milk and meats over again, and I'll check them."

Merry sometimes will walk by Pippin's house to make sure he hasn't left an oil lamp on or a candle lit, as he's actually quite scared of the thought that a fire might start and Pippin won't be able to smell the smoke and get out in time. Pippin acknowledges his fear and promises to be careful, but it's Pippin, and unfortunately he is forgetful and careless sometimes

Pippin is glad he'll never have to smell things like skunk, old dairy, or babies diapers

On the flip side, he's also quite upset that he will never smell things like freshly baked cakes, spring flowers, or rain

He frequently asks people to describe scents to him. Frodo actually found out that comparing scents to taste works quite well after comparing the smell of lavender to the taste of earl gray tea and watching Pippin's eyes light up in recognition

for angst reasons i hc that the static on robs body can cause physical pain for him and flares up at times, esp when hes emotional. and after contemplating this, i came to the based conclusion that rob is a disabled icon and that he needs a mobility aid right NOWWWW

in my eyes his condition is essentially fibromyalgia! causes intense and chronic long-term pain flare ups where his static is, thus it can make it hard for him to walk, move around, etc. so, on some pain days, he uses a cane! he also wears compression knee pads and arm sleeves for extra support.

^ bonus quick doodle of him in some forearm crutches and his besties! rob uses them during significant leg pain days if his upper arms are fine-ish. forgot his compression pads here oops but idk banana joe ate them

I have very random disability headcanons that stem from the very detailed mental image i have of characters in my head.

The two examples i've talked about the most in this blog are Silas from Tsbit having Albinism and Ronan from trc with a cleft lip, but there's others! Blind (the gray House) and Daphne (Tsbit) being autistic, Effie (Thg) having chronic pain and being a Cane user and Haymitch having an ostomy bag because, yk, axe wound... (@cashmeresknife and @snoopymydear thank you for these HCs).

Did you know, while i was reading catcher in the rye with @belladonna-rwr my brain short-circuited in the middle of Holden and Stradlater's fight, making me suddently picture them as Smoker and Black from the gray House and The idea of ambulatory wheelchair user Holden has been rotating in my mind ever since?

Trailblazer has full body chronic pain from the Stellaron (as did Cocolia in specifically her head from the influence) so when one day they’re injured enough to pass out and is healed using futuristic tech (or the more realistic route that they’re given pain medication) they freak out once awake because everything feels very different in an almost too good way (maybe they feel too light, floaty, like dissociation, since they aren’t used to that lack of constant grounding) so they struggle to understand they aren’t like in a bad situation; WHICH means we can have others realize they have chronic pain (including them btw they didnt know they were in pain constantly cuz they legit Woke Up Like That) and like ya know everyone together having to figure out how they feel about it and what can be done to help, if anything

How I'd Imagine Type 1 Diabetes to be Handled in Teyvat

possible cws/tws: mentions/non-gorey imagery of needles & cannulas, brief mentions of blood

insulin is made through [bio]alchemy ; I'm not specifically sure which branch would be most likely to take the genetic engineering approach (inspired by how it's made here, typically through genetic engineering or something called Recombinant DNA)

since Fontaine seems to be invention-creation central & the nation that comes out with new creations like the Kamera, they would be responsible for creation of the tech side of having t1d, such as insulin pumps

prior to them creating insulin pumps, insulin was only administered through manual injections (needle tw: 1 / 2)

Fontaine has created the Teyvat equivalents of the following diabetic supplies:

insulin pumps with tubing (1 / 2 / diagram)

lancet devices (which are used to prick yourself and draw blood in order to test your blood sugar) (1 / 2)

meters + testings strips to actually test your blood sugar (meter: 1 / 2 ; strips ; 1)

I doubt they'd be able to create all of the tech we use today, since they don't seem to have the wireless technology & bluetooth to make tubless pumps (1 ; the only tubeless one that exists at the moment is the Omnipod) or continuous glucose monitors (CGMS) (1 / 2- the sensor is on the left)

however, I'd like to think that if/when they do figure out the technology to actually make those, they'd be made around the same time

Lively Orlean is type 1 diabetic (to me) (she mentions her blood sugar being low and while non-diabetics can get hypoglycemic episodes/symptoms [which are caused by a low blood sugar],, come on /lh) (I'd say it's canon but I fear getting yelled at even if I'm right /lh)

Baizhu, being a pharmacist who most definitely sells insulin, is very knowledgeable on diabetes- 1, 2, and the sub-categories-that-idk-much-abt-and-therefore-won't-list

going off vibes alone I'd like to think Verr Goldett also is very familiar with it

maybe either a family member/friend of hers has it, or she herself has it

I think Barbara knows the basics at best but is learning quite a bit about it, primarily how to help treat hypoglycemic / hyperglycemic episodes, Ketoacidosis, and how to administer glucagon

I think it would've been poetic justice and also interesting for Soldier Boy to be selective mute from the torture. Him and Black Noir and communicating after everything SB did... And Jensen is so expressive, plus everything that comes out of SB's mouth is trash lol

Maybe he'd just write, idk, but it would've been something 🤔
