Do extremely politically informed people know how to reach the average casual voter?
No, I don't think the extremely informed politically savvy are the right people to decide how to reach the general public who are often uninformed, misinformed, and busy. Extremely politically informed people tend to be more polarized and have policy stances that could serve as proxies for other policy stances. For all the bemoaning of polarization, a lot of politics experts seem completely unaware, or refuse to acknowledge, that most people don't fit into neat political polarization stories at all. People are complicated.

My letter to reps:
Stop listening to business executives and industry double agent consultants selling simple stories, and start talking to actual working class and poor people in the community you represent. Not just affluent people who show up at business promoted fundraisers.
Please feel free to copy or repurpose for your own letters to reps.

Wallace Polsom, Life During Wartime: Double Agents (2021), paper collage, 21.3 x 26.7 cm.
The great majority of double agents such as Blake, who must have fancied themselves serious historical actors, have ended up in the dustbin of history, their treasonous slog almost pointless. They had barely any effect on geopolitics. What they did no longer matters much, except to their victims. Yet who they were still fascinates. Their tangled human stories continue to inspire books and movies. In part it's because the double agent embodies the popular fantasy of living a double life: I might look like a pen-pusher in a suit, but secretly I'm doing dastardly deeds for an enemy nation.
