in light of all the recent and incredibly disheartening discourse across my dash regarding aro and/or ace men, I raise all of you the question:

who are you to decide who is queer and who isn't? who are you to dictate who is "queer enough" for the community?

either educate yourself on identities you may not fully understand or shut the fuck up and mind your own fucking business.

your identity is not more important nor is it more queer than someone else's. your opinion on how someone else identifies and what their label means is not more important than the person who uses that label.

you do not get to decide who is welcome in the community and who isn't. check yourself.

Barty and Evan used to definitely promote themselves as a package deal when dating people (like "you have to be approved by my best friend and get along with him or we will not work because I'll always choose him" type of situation) and it kept sabotaging their relationships because each partner was either never deemed good enough or the approved partners couldn't get along with the other.

And they definitely complained to Regulus, Dorcas, and Pandora like

"We don't get it. Why do all our relationships fail?"

And Regulus, completely over both their shit just responds like

"Because all your exes could tell you two are in love. Merlin, just date each other."

So, they did because the moment this option was brought up to them, who were they to ignore it?

So, I haven't posted anything regarding the Noah Schnapp situation on my blog before. I speak up for Palestine and I speak against Zionism on a daily on my socials and in my community. However, as a mostly anonymous Stranger Things blog, I always felt a little off about suddenly posting about the genocide of an entire group of people amongst fanart and fan posts (personally for me it'd feel incredibly performative).

However, coming online today to find out about Noah Schnapp's most recent stunt–for lack of a better term–has been incredibly upsetting. So, I'd like to take the time to state outwardly on my blog that I do not support Noah Schnapp, at all. Every word he's said, every post he's interacted with, regarding the genocide makes me physically ill. Anyone who still supports him despite the words he's said and the harm he's done, please do not interact with my blog.

Do I still ship Byler? Yes. Stranger Things has been my special interest for nearly 7 years and I love the show and its characters with my entire being. I will continue to post and write about the show and Byler. However, I do not condone anything Noah Schnapp says or does and I never, ever will. Will Byers as a character is not Noah Schnapp; I will only ever post of Will, never anything supportive regarding Noah himself. Additionally, I definitely understand all the people I see on here declaring they're taking breaks (indefinite or otherwise) from the fandom/Byler. I wish all of y'all who make that choice the absolute best. I know many fans want Will to be recast, but due to the fact multiple others involved with Stranger Things are Zionists, I doubt it will happen. Pirate season 5, if you can. It's better to not support Netflix with your money anyway.

Free Palestine, antizionism is NOT antisemitism. Continue to learn, continue to research, continue to offer help and support in any way you possibly can. Check in with your Palestinian, Arab, and Jewish friends and neighbors. Do not stand complicit when faced with genocide. Do not be the type of person people 70 years from now will look back on and wonder why you didn't take a stand against genocide.

Edit just to say: I'm not posting this for any brownie points nor do I feel the need to prove my activism. If you feel the need to prove your activism, then maybe your activism isn't as genuine as you like to think it is. I just wanted to make my stance clear so that it cannot be misinterpreted. Please make sure to listen to Palestinian voices.

Post-Crimson Rivers (Spoilers)

so I finished Crimson Rivers last night. I cried, I stared at a wall for over an hour, I cried some more, and then I had to find a light-hearted fic in my bookmarks to fill the void.

the ending was SO good. the second to last chapter made me so so happy on so many levels. I was so glad everyone was getting their happy endings in one way or another.

that last chapter though...oh my gods.

it was also a happy chapter!! don't get me wrong!!! both Sirius' pov and James' pov made me feel so so full after reading them. Sirius dropping everything to find his brother during a storm; Regulus finally being at a place where he could thank Sirius for volunteering for him and admitting he would've done the same; James finally releasing the horcrux hornet; Regulus throwing a snowball at James like he did when they were kids; literally the entire snowman scene. it all made me so happy for them.

and then Regulus' pov. ow. I hadn't realized how badly Evan's death still hurt until that moment. I understood how Regulus' dream was actually a very good thing and was indicative of how far he'd come and how much he had healed and was still going to heal, but I was devastated. getting the reminder that Evan was dead and he and Regulus hadn't truly interacted since he died in the arena just hit so much harder than I thought it would. not to mention the rollercoaster of emotions I experienced when Regulus actually climbed to the top of the tree and then embraced the freefall?? *rattling the bars of my cage* oh my gods.

also, in the second to last chapter when James and Regulus were arguing over who got Sirius as their best man and Regulus reminded James that his best friend (Evan) and Barty were both dead, I was like "haha😭yeah James😭his friends are dead😭give him Sirius😭" like I'm glad Regulus was at a point where he could casually bring it up but me? I was not ready for that reminder </3

anyways, rip Evan and Barty and Monty and Marlene and Frank and everyone else we lost along the way. I'm so glad the survivors all got to work on healing and building their happy lives post-war, and that Jegulus, Wolfstar, and Marylily persevered but I'll never recover from the losses of everyone else </3

TLDR; Crimson Rivers was beautifully written. I don't think a piece of writing has ever impacted me as much as this fanfic has. 10000/10, highly recommend. you will need therapy after
