Can you believe that I bought all these books for $2 each?! Such a great deal. I've already read OPEN ROAD SUMMER, but I look forward to reading ILLUSIVE, and THROUGH TO YOU. 🌿I'm 50% through Bring Her Home by David Bell (an ARC I have) and this poor main character has been put through the emotional ringer and back. 💀 MINI REVIEW 💀 I pre-ordered THE BONE HOUSES by @em_llojo way back when it came out, but hadn't read it yet, so when it was chosen as the November pick for @zombiepandabooks' book club, I was all in! I missed the Zoom chat, but from our insta chats it seemed everyone enjoyed it. I was glad to finally read it! The chronic pain rep was excellent, and I felt seen and understood in how Ellis felt and dealt with his pain. Ryn was a great, strong character, and I loved how she took care of her siblings. "And I grew up thinking people were the monsters.” -Emily Lloyd-Jones, The Bone Houses •——————————————————————• I spent today working from home with a needy boy cat that would not stay off my keyboard and a needy kitten starved for attention because she’s locked up in the gym room because it’s the only room in the house with nothing for her to jump on because she can’t be trusted not to spaz out and tear her stitches so she cried for THREE HOURS STRAIGHT while I was working which caused little boy cat to become MORE needy and broke my heart because I couldn’t stop and give them what they need AND they have to stay separated or closely monitored for the next 7-10 days because they play rough which would, you guessed it, tear her stitches which really sucks because they’re BFFs and they clearly miss each other and did I mention that it breaks my heart? sigh-we’re all a little emotionally exhausted here (except for husband who got to go to work and escape this madness) these cats man 😭 •——————————————————————• That was my explanation for posting so late. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review: I actually finished this book right before quarantine and was buddy reading it with @reddani15, but we never got around to talking about. (I always talk to her too 😂😂) I think it’s just shows how okay this book was. . . . It was entertaining, but definitely a three star.
