Footsteps thumped down the stairs, making Sirius waving with his phone appear.
“Mooooony,” he said, in a tone that only could mean he wanted something while settling down in Remus’ lap. “Love. I need you to do this.”
A video on his phone showed a black haired boy bleaching his hair, before painting it red. In the end result the dye was mostly invisible, except when the hair was moved. The caption said just two words. ‘Ghost roots’.
“Why don’t you do that yourself if you think it’s cool?” He pulled Sirius closer to relieve his knees a little. And maybe also to enjoy a more close up look at his favourite person.
Sirius pouted. “But that won’t have the special invisible effect because I have long hair. And I’m not cutting it!”
“Well, I’m not painting my hair red, darling.”
His love leaned in, discarding his phone in favor of stroking through Remus’ brown hair. “Well, that’s alright. Because I was hoping you’d want to bleach it.”
“Huh?”
“If you’d make the roots blonder–just a little to enhance your own color–it would look almost golden.” Sirius pressed a soft kiss on his forehead. “I actually saw this video yesterday but the idea didn’t leave my head. It’d look so pretty.”
Remus laughed. “Why not just highlight it?”
“Uhh, because this is much cooler?” The following smirk was a clear indicator of his next argument. “And, because I’ll be the only one to see it properly.” At that, he gripped Remus’ hair from the front, a move that would provide an excellent view on potential hair dye. Remus’ head tilted back just the way he liked, making him whimper from the surprise.
“Because some people may know, but I will be the one to come close enough to see it,” whispered Sirius against his bare throat, hot breath fanning against his skin.
“But most importantly,” a trail of kisses over his jawline, “because you’re my light in the dark.”
Their lips slammed together, making thoughts about hair dye disappear for the rest of the evening.
And the next day?
Remus arranged a hairdresser appointment. It was Sirius’ birthday soon anyway.

“When did you know? That you fancied me?”
“I’ve been waiting for that question forever,” Sirius complains, making Remus laugh. Ever the romantic, he’d imagined endless ways he’d be asked this, when they’re dancing under stars or having a picnic by a sunset, so in love it’s disgusting.
“History of Magic classroom, circa 1975. You’d started prattling about how the Ancient Witch Burning really began as a Medieval pride march and our books are just homophobic, then you veered off to how we’re taught that Rowena Ravenclaw and Helga Hufflepuff were ‘just friends’ when in fact, love letters had been discovered, and our curriculum will not say so, because, I’m quoting you here, ‘it’s sooooooo platonic to praise your best friend’s “milky white thighs” and “lips of a crushed bloodrose””
“I was giving you a hint!” Remus interrupts. “You kept going on about how nice I looked in That Jumper and telling James how I’m such a good ‘friend’.”
Sirius crosses his arms. “Come on, it wasn’t like I knew what was happening, you were seducing me with gay history. My face got hot and I was staring like you invented love as a concept.”
A blush creeps up Remus’ neck. “That’s not true.”
“Fuck you, I heard Marlene that afternoon,” Sirius grins. “Did she really say I looked at you like you were my ‘firewhiskey angel’?”
Remus covers his face. “I told her to keep it down.”
“But was she wrong?” Sirius leans in close enough to count every freckle. “I should call you that.”
“I’ll break up with you,” Remus threatens.
“Oh but you wouldn’t, my firewhiskey angel,” Sirius swoons, warm, warm, warm. Warm when Remus begins laughing, warm when he’s pressing kisses all over his face, warm when he whispers “I love you,” into his mouth.

Established Wolfstar fluff thought of the day:
Everytime Remus and Sirius get into a proper fight at home, one of them starts undressing. They think it helps keep things from escalating because eventually, someone’s gonna crack. (Its always Remus)
Remus always begins with a sock. Sirius? straight up loses the shirt like it personally offended him. It’s not on purpose, but it’s also very much on purpose. Because the moment Remus sees his name tattooed over Sirius’ heart... suddenly he’s not mad, he’s weak. How is he supposed to stay mad when his name is tattooed right over Sirius’ heart?
He gets handsy and distracted. Melts. oh so in love.
Fifteen minutes later, they’re tangled in bed, half-naked, still a bit grumpy but slowly talking through it. There’s gentle apologies and forehead kisses somewhere in there. and whispered "I love you"s . Always. It’s their version of conflict resolution. Its messy, ridiculous and kind of perfect.
sirius trying to think of an easy date to have with remus and suggesting a study date and remus just laughs and giggles cause sirius never studies and still aces the tests he sees right through it sirius clearly just wants to make out with him in the back of the library

raising baby harry au (because i love these!!)
“So, little prongs, what do you want to be when you’re older?” Sirius had once asked, ruffling the five year old’s head with a wild grin.
Harry immediately replied with a small giggle, “A doctor!”
James and Regulus, who happened to be in a nearby kitchen making out discreetly, poked their heads out of the doorway. A doctor? How special. They’d have the most successful healer ever.
Remus let out a hearty sigh, patting Harry on the back as he passed. “That’s a good job to have, Harry. I’m sure you’ll do beautifully.”
Later on that day, it was found that a polaroid was taken of Harry — fully dressed in doctor attire. He held a stethoscope to James’s heart, listening closely.
James was pretending to be terribly ill, hand dramatically displayed over his forehead with a shocked expression. Regulus seemed to be dying of laughter, for the picture was slightly blurry from movement.
What a beautiful moment for the lovely family.
A drink while waiting - a wolfstar microfic

Remus folded and unfolded the receipt, wiggled his glass making the water from the ice that had melted at the bottom swirl around, and thought about ordering another drink. He tried to not look at his watch. Sirius was already half an hour late. He had tried calling twice, but the number was currently unavailable.
He wasn’t too worried. It wasn’t the first time Sirius forgot to charge his phone and it would not be out of character for him to wander about and lose track of time in a new city. But they had gone on a vacation to get a chance to spend time together and Remus was tired of waiting.
The bartender broke his thoughts by putting a glass in front of him.
“From the gentleman over there.” He said and nodded to the side.
Remus tried to suppress the sudden thrill. It had been a while since anyone had hit on him. And he couldn’t remember anyone ever buying him a drink as a first move like this.
“You sure it’s for me?”
The bartender nodded with a smile.
Remus briefly considered accepting what looked like it could be a whiskey sour. Sirius had left him here alone, after all. Would it be such a big deal if he had an innocent chat with someone else while he waited?
Maybe not. But he already knew he would choose his chronically late husband all over again every day. He would act accordingly.
He looked up with an apologetic face, ready to show his ring, only to meet the sparkling silver eyes he had been waiting for all the time.
He laughed as Sirius came over and said “You look stunning. May I take you on a date tonight?”
Despite the years together, Remus felt a flutter of excitement in his stomach when Sirius looked at him like that. He was as beautiful as ever, his eyes sincere and a smile playing around the mouth.
“Yes.” Remus breathed and felt his heart speed up as Sirius took his hand and kissed his knuckles.
