I’m never playing without the expanded galaxy mod again this is amazing 😩
Forgot to share this earlier, but Expanded Galaxy Mod adds some extra emails like this one that breaks down the entire Alliance command structure at the beginning of the Reaper War. I took screenshots to share:
A couple notes:
Lindholm is mentioned in other EGM content as basically being second in command after Hackett. She's also a woman.
The First Fleet, Third Fleet, Fifth Fleet, and Sixth Fleet are all mentioned in the vanilla game's war assets, and the first three have their commanders listed by name.
Admiral Ahern, commander of the Sixth Fleet, is the guy that ran Pinnacle Station in ME1. (Fun fact: another mod ports the apartment you get in 1 to this game, and Shepard gets an email about him taking care of it while in lockdown.)
Admiral Mikhailovich, commander of the 63rd Scout Flotilla, is the racist guy from ME1 that wants to inspect the Normandy and isn't happy Shepard let aliens on her ship. Let's hope he either changed his mind or knows when to shut up.
EGM also adds in new war assets that line up to the multiplayer classes from the original release.
I just realized the last line was cut off, but Task Force Hercules' location is [REDACTED].
Everyone say thank you, mass effect modders
“I'm an excellent judge of character. I think you'll find my assessments to be right on the money.”

I’m doing a replay of the original mass effect trilogy with my modded to hell installation and after finishing Grissom Academy, Jack and her students are in the observation lounge getting tattoos. The thing is though, David Archer was also there in the AI core room playing chess with EDI.
The EGM mod even reuses some dialog from the Overlord DLC’s flashback sequences so that David and EDI have some really touching dialog prompts.
It’s really sweet and I’m a huge sap.
*blasts through your wall like the Kool-Aid man* yes hello may we have the link to the Tali mod please
(Anon you are so valid)
Hood-down Tali is part of the Expanded Galaxy Mod!
EGM is one of the best ME mods out there. Total juggernaut of QoL fixes, including companion outfit options (Garrus, Tali, Liara, Kaidan, Vega, Javik, EDI included!), Normandy interactive updates (you can choose your XO among other crew members, and you get emails and actually see new crew added about the ship!), you can get a firing range for the Shuttle Bay (actually super handy), plus it fixes a lot of the weapon incongruities in cutscenes, which is nice. Plus it's still in it's early stages - EGM has a lot more coming down the pipeline.
You'll want ME3Tweaks Mod Manager to use it (but frankly if you mod ME at all you probably already have it, it's a godsend), and I recommend the LE3 Community Framework & Patch to go along with it. (It's basically a huge series of bugfixes for 3, it and EGM go hand in hand.)
I’ve Decided to Play Mass Effect 3 with the Expanded Galaxy Mod
And I have to say, the folks who made this mod put much more thought into the story details of this game than Bioware did. Take a look at this:
BioWare never took the time to explain why the Reapers didn’t immediately move to take the Citadel (they didn’t have the ability too) and why the combined fleets of the galaxy have a fighting chance. It’s good to know someone took some thought to try and justify the game’s plot rather than just not touching it. BioWare should hire these guys rather than keep some of the terrible writers they currently have.
Also, I get to see my Mass Effect Waifu the way she should have been done in the game in the first place.
