remembering the time my ex-friend faked DID, confessed to it, and then played it off as a joke and expected me to never bring it up again.

a little more information, they claimed that they were endogenic and intentionally developed DID at the age of 17. they claimed they had 2 distinct personalities, their "host" which was just them, and their "fictive" which was them pretending to be blitz from helluva boss. after abt 2 weeks they confessed it was "a bit" and said i was "too sensitive" for saying that what they did was harmful

reminder that the only way you can know someone is faking a disorder is if they confess to it, and even then they may just be self doubting

Really grinds my gears to see The fucking Wonderland System on my FYP. It’s apparent that most of their interaction comes from people making fun of them but they are still benefiting from that and there are so many awesome, genuinely disabled creators who deserve that big of an audience. I have a friend with such severe TS, she’s going to get brain surgery and she was like “yeah, that engagement would change my life.” 😡

And then the people in the comments like “they’re a real system!” Bro fuck off, even if in some universe they really have DID, they faked (mocked) tics and a stutter. They can go straight to Hell.

If you make shitty "satire" about ~the system fakers~ shut the fuck up about the harm "fakers" do forever actually, because you are contributing to it too! Labeling it as satire doesn't make it less harmful to mock traits related to systems (especially since pretty much none of the traits you use in your satire are something exclusive to fakers), spread misinformation, and turn the existences of systems into a fucking joke.

Because even if it's supposed to be satire, and supposed to be about "the fake ones", it still contributes to people treating systems like jokes. It contributes to people believing all of us are fake, or even that the disorders themselves aren't real. It contributes to misinformation on what is or isn't a sign of faking, and misinformation on how you can tell someone is faking. It contributes to misinformation on what a system can look or act like. It actively harms all of us, not just "the fakers".
