Trying to figure out how in the hell I'm going to pull off my overtly ambitious Fallout fic plans.
I've got two massive photo stories that I've been planning to publish on AO3, but they both need a rewrite. The newer story, Wolves At The Door, originally published as a series titled as 'Gun For Hire' on Nexus Mods image share (now deleted by me), needs only editing and some additions here and there.
But the older photo story that doesn't have an actual title, needs a total rewrite. That's not a death sentence in itself, but the fact that the epic-sized story also needs to be completely reshot IS a fucking death sentence. I did literally insane amounts of world building for that story back in the day.
There were several huge locations, towns, fight scenes, and a truly godawful amount of OCs. A part of the story took place in the Capital Wasteland, so I ended up recreating Brotherhood of Steel's Washington DC HQ the Citadel from Fallout 3, and the Tenpenny Tower also made an appearance.
There's a little voice in the back of my head that says there's no way I can recreate this story from scratch. Writing and photographing this story actually gave me my first and worst game-related burnout, so I can totally related to mod creators who try to make these massive story/quest/remake mods and end up quitting for mental health reasons.
There's a very good chance that I'll just have to bury this story for good, because I just can't publish it as it is. The writing is terribly clunky and amateurish, and same goes for these photos. Poses, facial expressions, and the photography itself are in desperate need of updating, especially when compared to the virtual photography I'm putting out nowadays. All of these photos were shot at 1K and with far less know-how than what I've got now. The good thing here is that I don't have to make this decision today.
Commonwealth Portraits 1
Jun Long
"Some days are harder than others, but even the hard days get easier than the one before."
Starting a Commonwealth portrait series to anchor myself in something creative. I've been dealing with a lot of depression lately and have felt cut off from community and making art. So here is Jun Long - a character frequently passed over because he and Marcy mourn their child in ways that players seem to find annoying or inconvenient. I've seen mods that seek to fix one or both of them, but I think they're a realistic representation of loss and moving on. It can be difficult to put on a brave face - and why should they, to make others happy? To compartmentalize and partition their worst moments away for the player, when they just made it back from Quincy? People don't go through hard times to inconvenience others - let alone poor Jun; barely able to string together a sentence when you meet him in Concord, reeling from the loss of his child. However, later on in the game, if you cross paths with him in Sanctuary, he will sometimes give an indication he's picking up the pieces - along with the slightest smile you ever did see.
Kinda curious what does Aces look like in game? 👀👀👀
I went through my screenshots and apparently i don’t like taking them unless they are with yes-man and benny- but i do have few!
Bonus! try to spot benny in this one- hint hint look at the sky

I've really enjoyed doing my second play thru of Fallout 4. Maybe you can recognize where some of these screen shots were taken.
Bonus if you've made it this far:
