shoutout to the “fat and unlovable” thought for being the most stable long-term presence in my life
heartbreak hurts so much more when you don't have a stable source of love to begin with...
"The most terrible poverty is loneliness, and the feeling of being unloved." - Mother Teresa
There are moments when it really feels like no one cares about you. Like no one truly loves you, checks in on you, or would notice if you quietly faded into the background. You might look at your phone and see nothing, replay conversations where you felt unimportant, or realize you are always the one reaching out first. It can start to feel like you are existing on the edges of everyone else’s lives.
That kind of loneliness cuts deep. It’s not just being alone, it’s feeling unloved. Feeling like there isn’t anyone who would be affected if you disappeared, like your presence doesn’t really change anything. When those thoughts settle in, they can make everything feel heavy and distant, like you are watching the world from far away without really belonging in it.
You might start wondering what’s wrong with you. Why it seems so easy for others to be cared for, while you feel overlooked. Why no one seems to choose you, notice you, or hold onto you. It can make your chest ache in a quiet way, like you are carrying this invisible hurt that no one else sees.
If you are feeling this right now, I’m really sorry it hurts this much. Feeling unloved is one of the heaviest feelings to sit with. It can make you want to withdraw even more, to stop trying, to stop hoping, just to protect yourself from the disappointment.
But even in that loneliness, your need for love is still there, soft and human. Wanting to be cared for doesn’t make you needy. Wanting someone to notice you doesn’t make you weak. It just means you are someone who longs for connection, warmth, and reassurance, things everyone deserves.
For now, be gentle with yourself in this space. You don’t have to force yourself to believe anything different right away. Just let yourself be held by quiet, small comforts: a blanket, a calm moment, something steady. Even if it feels like no one else is holding you, you can still give yourself that softness.
You are not wrong for wanting love. You are not wrong for wanting someone to care. And even if it feels like no one does right now, you still deserve to stay, to exist, and to be treated with gentleness, especially by yourself. 🤍
The Unlovable
It takes a special kind of person to love the unlovable, To love animals such as Crows and opossums, Raccoons and moths, Spiders and snakes, Bats and mice, The creatures deemed too creepy Or too much of a nuisance. To love plants like dandelions That are often deemed worthless. To love Pluto and still see it as a planet Even if the rest of the world doesn't. To love bottle caps and bird feathers, Stray buttons and old toys, Imperfectly made items being sold at a discount. To love the unlovable, It takes the kids who sit in the back of the class, Who are always alone on the bus, Who eat dinner in their room away from their family, Who try their best but feel it's never enough, Who see the unlovable and decide to love it anyway. To love in the same way that they wish others would've done for them. There is a certain bond Between those society has deemed unlovable Threadbear teddy bears are hugged by children who no one speaks to A small pebble is cherished by a person Who wishes they were cherished the same way in their childhood Someone adopts an animal whose cage reads "behavioural issues" And says I will not leave you behind the way the world did to me. Together the unlovable gather around And promise that they will love each other Hoping that one day, they will be able To love themselves just the same One day they will realise how lovable they really are.
I fear I’m unlovable
I want to be loved so bad but i fear there’s no one in the world who can love me for me
