Convict can you hear me?
I had a dream that at certain showings of Iron Lung you could choose a more immersive experience that basically consisted of being put in your own pod that would splash you with fake blood whenever Mark got slashed on screen.
can y'all imagine the fire nation soldiers' reactions if toph was sent to one of those "fully metal and inescapable" prisons in the middle of the ocean like katara and haru were on in s1e6.
Like, imagine they're like "hahaha you can't escape! There is no earth here for you to bend!" And this little 12yo blind girl starts laughing her ass off in their faces and then she just makes a fucking hole in the ground and falls through it.
The guards spend the next few hours freaking the fuck out because theres a little girl somewhere in their walls and her haunting cackles are everywhere
Oh my gosh I just had a realization about Hadestown!
In “Come Home with Me” Eurydice asks Hermes, after Orpheus introduces himself as the man that’s gonna marry her, “Is he always like this?” To which Hermes responds with a tired, but good natured “yes”
Is he always like this? Yes. BECAUSE HE IS ALWAYS LIKE THAT!! In every retelling, in every cycle, a love struck Orpheus, even after being warned not to, comes on too strong to the woman he has fallen in love with over and over again!
And Hermes has watched this play out over and over again too! Orpheus is always like this! Maybe not in the EXACT same way (different retellings, aka different actors) but no matter what, Orpheus is always like this!
Deep Water Prompt #3504
It's the bed that's haunted, not the house. I dream a dead man's dream each time I close my eyes, and through them, attempt to solve the mystery of how he really died.
it's bad business to cut off a man mid pitch
you've met me at a very "yeah i'm trying to work on that" time in my life
I just finished the Tribunal DLC, so I thought I’d share my thoughts on it (it’s kinda long)
Honestly, I thought it was fine. Not great, but fine
While I liked seeing the new designs in this different city, I felt like a lot of it was empty. There were passages that took up a lot of room on the map, in sewers and especially in the Clockwork City, that were just empty and just led to dead ends without anything in it
A lot of the quests were just having you run back and forth through similar/the same areas to grab or kill something, and it got really repetitive after the first couple quests
I also was just disappointed with where the whole Dark Brotherhood aspect of the quest went. You are introduced to go to Mournhold because these assassins are trying to kill you, only to take them all out the second you get there and that be the end of it. Sure, you learn that King Helseth sent them, and he has no shame in admitting, but that’s just the end of that. You are tasked to then do (optional) quests for this guy for no reason, and given no further satisfaction over the whole “yeah, I tried to have you killed, and I’ll do it again, unless you want to become my guard dog” and are just left at that. That part I admit frustrated me, and I can’t say I enjoyed all that much
Aside from that, I thought the enemies were a lot tougher here and gave me a good challenge, and I liked the new alchemy ingredients you can get, though I do wish they were more abundant
As someone who’s a bit of a collector whenever I play games the Museum of Artifacts was SUPER satisfying to be able to add to, so I did like that addition
I also love being able to get Trueflame as a reward, and lives the ornamental designs that were on a lot of the buildings, and especially the detail in The Clockwork City and how it went with that whole vibe
All in all, it was fine. Story and quest variation were kinda lacking but I had a good enough time, though I did take a break from it halfway through because of the repetition and because I got bogged down with work (I officially have my masters degree!)
I’m gonna move onto Solstheim next and the Bloodmoon DLC, so wish me luck there!
I just killed Gedna Relvel after trying over and over again for around a month, and the only time in recent memory I’ve cheered this hard was when I got my master’s project to actually work perfectly for the first time.
I almost woke up the whole house and literally ran laps around my room
“scientists don’t want you know” is a phrase that always cracks me up because if you actually meet a scientist they will be shaking and crying like an overstimulated chihuahua with the need to let you know
This goes for anyone who’s studied something that hard
“Please, I am begging you to ask me questions about [insert topic]! I have so much info I want to share!”
when i was a kid i decided that killing people was bad therefore war was bad therefore the military was evil. and adults would tell me it's more nuanced than that and i would understand when i grew up. well i'm a grown up now and idk i still think that killing people is bad and war is bad and the military is evil
I’m watching one of the old Batman movies and I had a thought about why superheroes let villains monologue and do more crazy, goofy things while they just watch
What if they do that because, while the villain (and/or their henchmen) are distracted doing their big scheming monologue or generally doing some kind of showman thing, that means that the hero now has time to strategize and take in their surroundings
And, if they have hostages, while they’re doing their whole thing they’re probably less likely to harm one of them and risk throwing off their rhythm
I don’t know if this is anything, but it could make sense
