Weds 16th October
Tues Weds office days this week. Flu vaccine clinic yesterday so went down with a couple of the girls on my team and got vaccinated. And got a sticker and a lollipop for it 😎
It's one of my colleagues' 30th birthday this weekend and I stupidly took charge of organising his gifts so rushed to get some giant balloons after work and came home and made up a hamper for him.
Up early this morning to make sure I had everything ready. It was team meeting day today so it was all a bit hectic but coworker was happy with his gifts and seemed to really appreciate them. He gave me a little cuddle to thank me for organising it all so I'm really glad I did okay.
As the day has gone on I've been feeling a little yucky and my armpit is killing me! So I think it's just the flu jab kicking in. "Rested" this evening bc I felt gross and exhausted when I got home and by resting I mean I spent 2 hours browsing cars bc we are in desperate need of a second one. Sharing ours is just not sustainable. I had hoped I could lease one from work but the cheapest cars are fully electric (great but I would have to then pay more to install a charger) and fuckung huge (not great because I am very fucking small and I currently drive a very small car I am not ready to upgrade to an SUV lmao) so we're back to looking at second hand from a local dealer and tbf there are a lot of good deals around, we just need to make the time to go and test drive a couple and get it sorted bc from November Matt's schedule is getting busier and I would really like to have the new car by then if we can. So I spent most of my night babbling out loud about the pros and cons of hire purchase bc that seems to be the way we could get the newest car with the lowest mileage. If we buy outright it would be an older car that's done more miles and had more wear and tear that we will need to pay to repair. But I can already hear his parents complaining about us paying for one large investment on finance. But like who can afford to buy a car outright these days lmao
just a heads up to all my uk fibromyalgia people
given that fibro got that study about autoimmune roots, that Should (in theory) make us eligible for free flu jabs under the nhs site's guidelines without having to jump through hoops talking to doctors about it, under the long-term health condition: weakened immunity reason
i know i haven't been 100% certain i could get it free previously even asking a pharmacist who had them available (and i got a minor learning disability on top of the fibro even), but hopefully with this we might be able to get somewhere?
i definitely will see for myself if i can get it with that justification, i just got to. uh. recover from maybe-a-cold-maybe-the-flu first, ironically enough. (side note, anyone got any idea how we're meant to tell the difference? 'flu makes you feel exhausted and unable to carry on as normal' like bruh i'm always exhausted. if an ablebodied person dealt with what we do on a regular basis THEY would be unable to carry on as normal that isn't a good benchline. all i know is it's not covid because i'm actually able to write comprehensibly unlike Last Time
)
I’m starting to think that it might not have been the best idea to get my flu jab today, when my graduation is on Friday 🥲 my arm is absolutely killing me, I really do wish I could handle pain better then I do because it really is shit that I can be out of action for a few days in absolute agony because of a vaccination 😒
Anti-vaxxers are just scared of needles and don't want to admit it.
Spread the word.
Has anyone had their flu vacc recently? I’m getting mine tomorrow and the last time I had it was probably about 4(?) years ago. Since then I’ve always had the nasal spray but now I’m 18 I gotta have the jab.
I’ve had jabs since but I remember the flu one being a lot more painful than any others so I’m just wondering if in the past few years they’ve managed to make it any less sore :((
Was listening to the news this morning and they had a doctor on who explained who comes into the “at risk” category for Covid-19 in a super easy to understand way. If you are eligible for a free flu jab in the UK you count as “at risk” (I’m using quotations as everyone is at risk this group are just at a higher risk). Thought people might find this helpful and thought it might help some people feel like their worries are more valid, it certainly helped me as I had quite a big freak out at the start of all this.
PARAGRAPH 1: Vaccination is important ✔️
PARAGRAPH 2: I refuse my flu jab 🤔
