Joined the family having Sunday lunch...Roast Beef, which was really lovely. My dinner is all FODMAP friendly...Only allowed a moderate amount of broccoli..They say 3/4 of cup...so hope a floret is fine?
I couldn’t have the Yorkshire pudding, cabbage and gravy...Must try making Gluten free Yorkshires and find a recipe for FODMAP friendly gravy.
Even so a very nice lunch....
Thankfully feeling much better today after yesterday's total wipeout! Today #Brighton is lovely and bright ☀️ Having someone else look after me all day can be difficult since I'm the type who loves to be on the go and helping other people... but if I can't sit up by myself then I definitely can't be useful! Hopefully today I can finish editing this week's videos. Make sure you don't miss my last video, explaining the #FODMAP diet: https://youtu.be/XowS0DeAMiA #JessicaOutOfTheCloset #fodmapdiet #1950s #fifties #ootd #mecfs #redhead #modernpinup #vintage #retro #pinupdoll #vintagelover #vintagestyle #vintagefashion #lookoftheday #instastyle #instafashion #collectifclothing #instadaily #chichilondon #instagood #instalike #ootdsocialclub #chronicallyfabulous #spoonie #vintagedoll #vintageblogger #theootdsociety (at Brighton)
IBS Diet: The FODMAP Approach Explained
Living with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) can be challenging. Everyday foods that seem harmless to others might trigger bloating, stomach cramps, or irregular bowel movements for you. But the good news is — with the right diet and treatment, you can manage IBS effectively and live a comfortable life. One of the most proven dietary strategies for managing IBS is the FODMAP diet.
At Kaizen Gastro Care, Wakad, Pune, under the guidance of Dr. Vikrant Kale, patients receive personalized care for all types of gastrointestinal disorders, including IBS. With advanced diagnostics and dietary counseling, Kaizen offers one of the most trusted and effective IBS Treatment in Pune.
Understanding IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome):
IBS is a long-term digestive disorder that affects the large intestine. People with IBS often experience symptoms such as:
Abdominal pain or cramping
Bloating and excessive gas
Irregular bowel habits (diarrhea, constipation, or both)
Discomfort after meals
Though IBS does not cause permanent harm to the intestines, it can severely impact daily life and emotional well-being. Many people notice that their symptoms worsen after eating certain foods or during periods of stress.
If you experience such symptoms frequently, it’s best to consult a specialist for IBS Diagnosis and Treatment in Pune. Early evaluation helps rule out other gastrointestinal problems and ensures timely management.
What is the FODMAP Diet?
FODMAP stands for Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides, and Polyols. These are types of carbohydrates (sugars) found in many everyday foods that can be difficult for some people to digest. When these carbs reach the gut, they are fermented by bacteria, producing gas and attracting water into the intestine — leading to bloating, cramps, and diarrhea.
The FODMAP diet helps identify and reduce foods that trigger these symptoms. It involves three main phases:
Elimination Phase – Temporarily avoiding high-FODMAP foods such as onions, garlic, wheat, dairy products, beans, apples, and certain artificial sweeteners.
Reintroduction Phase – Gradually reintroducing each food group to identify specific triggers.
Personalization Phase – Developing a long-term, balanced eating plan that minimizes symptoms while maintaining nutrition.
This approach has shown great success in improving gut health and reducing IBS discomfort.
Foods to Limit or Avoid on a FODMAP Diet:
Some common high-FODMAP foods include:
Dairy (milk, yogurt, soft cheese)
Certain fruits (apples, mangoes, pears, cherries)
Vegetables (cauliflower, garlic, onions)
Wheat-based foods (bread, pasta, biscuits)
Legumes (lentils, beans)
Sweeteners like sorbitol or xylitol
Instead, opt for low-FODMAP foods such as:
Rice, oats, quinoa
Carrots, spinach, cucumbers
Bananas, oranges, papayas
Lactose-free milk or almond milk
Lean proteins like chicken, eggs, and fish
How the FODMAP Approach Helps in IBS Treatment?
Following a low-FODMAP diet helps reduce fermentation and gas buildup in the intestines, easing bloating and discomfort. It also allows you to understand your body better — identifying which foods are friendly to your gut and which ones trigger your symptoms.
At Kaizen Gastro Care, Dr. Vikrant Kale and his team guide patients through each phase of the FODMAP process. They ensure that your nutritional needs are met while effectively controlling IBS symptoms. This professional approach makes it one of the most recommended centers for IBS Diet Consultation and IBS Treatment in Pune.

I have a tiny glass jar (20mL) and used leather offcuts (that I bought by the kilo!) to make a tiny holder for it.
Fodzyme came with a tiny measuring spoon so I drilled a hole in the end of that and used this chain thing to attach it to the holder. It can now come with me wherever I go and I can eat food with onion or garlic in it without the building needing to be evacuated! 😃
Family have been informed that I will always accept Fodzyme as a birthday and/or Xmas gift because this stuff is EXPENSIVE.
Where did this begin?
Well 3 years ago I started having pain, I’m still none the wiser as to why. But we’ve gone through a list. We’ve tested it all. And now I’m here taking it on with my own list of things to try.
Starting with self care and new diet. Following a strict fodmap based diet, concentrating on me and how I feel.
New apps to track with, new mind set, and some serious hope to figure this out.
