Rewatching Starkid GeekyCon 2015 and when Robert comes on as Gaston with

StarKid is probably never going to tour again and that pains me immensely.

Just saw a tweet from another fan who was like “What if for one year, StarKid did not do a show but went on tour instead?”.

And I was reminded again that while it would be Totally Awesome if they did that, they’ll probably never will after the serious tax problems they had after doing two tours in two years. (They had paid taxes twice [or at least more than they should have] in certain states, and then tried to file the paper work to get a certain amount back but never succeeded in recouping their lost money.)

So this very tiresome legal battle is why they never toured again after 2012 and why they probably never will (Also the logistics are a nightmare, as per Julia Albain who handled them on the tours and Corey Lubowich who handles them now).

And that means that future StarKid live performances will probably take the form of single reunion concerts, guest spots on Darren Criss gigs (including Elsie Fest), and maybe conventions (though they skipped LeakyCon 2019 and have cut back appearances at international cons severely).

That’s not to say that I didn’t enjoy all the work they put towards SK10 and Homecoming last year, but the fact that we probably won’t ever get that rockstar atmosphere again from the SPACE Tour and Apocalyptour saddens me.

Not to mention that seeing StarKid perform on a location near you might prove impossible, and the chance that they’ll ever perform in Europe (maybe the UK has the highest chance?), Asia, Africa, South America or Oceania is slim to nil. Or even the US, if you’re not near LA or New York.
