I have recently come across creators and articles on the wendigo, saying that it still has significance in Native American culture and shouldn't be used in creature designs/horror art ect

As a creature designer and someone who is fascinated by different creatures of folklore and mythology, I was before now unaware of this but all plans for wendigo themed artwork has been scrapped.

I wanted to ask the wider community if there are any other creatures from folklore that I should avoid making art of aswell? Again alot of my work is based around creatures of folklore (at the moment mainly British) and I want to be sure I'm being respectful to different cultures and not doing anything that could unknowingly cause offence.

Today we talk about revolians:

What are revolians?

Revolians are cisgender straight people who don’t conform to gender stereotypes and roles.

What is Revolianism?

A movement which believes that if you are straight you shouldn’t be pressured to conform to gender roles/ gender stereotypes.

When did it start?

It started in 2018.

We need more representation for revolians and Revolianism, because people invalidating your identity and trying to assume your sexuality based on your appearance should be a thing of the past.

Today my existence was invalidated all because one person thinks non-binary people are “shit.” My identity makes me no different from you. You are apart of the same community. You can not tell me that my identity is any lesser than yours. I’ve been told by my own mother I am a lie and when someone who is a part of the community begins to tear me apart for the same reasons I  begin to question why I am living. I have struggled with this since I was 11. I just found my peace with it and now you want to tell me I’m wrong? You know what...fuck you. You don’t deserve to be a part of this beautiful community if you can’t except the people in the trans non-binary umbrella. You have no right to gatekeep. Everyone lives differently and there is no set definition of identities. You are entitled to your opinions, but when you invalidate someone's existence you know longer have my respect, so again fuck you. Get over your damn ego and get educated.
