23rd of April 2019: Misedashi of Maiko Kimishō from the Honjo Okiya!

Kimishō is the second Maiko to debut from Honjo in less than a year, her older sister Kimisaki debuted in July of last year. Honjo is a pretty small okiya, but they are very successful and known to produce the most beautiful and elegant Maiko and Geiko! Kimishō herself looks really cute and young, and definitely has that typical “Maiko-look”, while her sister Kimisaki looks a bit more elegant already, so there is some variety there.

Kimishō is also the first imouto of Geiko Kimiaya (on the right in the last picture), who remarked that she wore the exact same kimono-ensemble on the day of her Misedashi in 2007. I also really love her unique geimei! Kimi- is part of Honjo’s official name line, but -shō is part of Kimishō’s real name; using part of a Maiko’s real name in her geimei seems to have become more common lately.

กันยายน 2561: ไมโกะ Kimisaki (โอกิยะ Honjo) จากเขต Miyagawacho กำลังร่ายรำโดยมี Mai Tenugui เป็นอุปกรณ์ประกอบ

Tenugui (手拭い) คือผ้าบางๆ รูปทรงยาวแบบญี่ปุ่นดั้งเดิม มักทำจากผ้าฝ้าย โดยผ้า Tenugui ทั่วไปจะมีขนาดกว้าง 35 เซนติเมตร และยาว 90 เซนติเมตร มีหลายประเภท หลายลวดลายสีสัน เพื่อใช้ในโอกาสที่แตกต่างกันไป เช่น ใช้เป็นผ้าเช็ดจานทั่วไป ใช้ประดับตกแต่งของฝาก หรือใช้เป็นผ้าโพกศีรษะ แต่ยังมีผ้า Tenugui อีกประเภทหนึ่งที่ใช้สำหรับรำโดยเฉพาะ เรียกว่า Mai Tanugui (舞手拭い) แปลว่าผ้า Tenugui สำหรับการรำ

Kimishō (Honjo Okiya) of Miyagawacho has made her debut as a Minarai today! She will have her Misedashi on the 23rd of April, about a week after the Kyō Odori has ended, and her onee-san will be Geiko Kimiaya.

23 เมษายน 2562: ผมทรง Wareshinobu และเครื่องประดับผมสำหรับพิธีแสดงตัวครั้งแรกของไมโกะ Kimishou (โอกิยะ Honjo) จากเขต Miyagawacho ในจังหวัด Kyoto

ผมทรง Wareshinobu (割れしのぶ) เป็นทรงผมสำหรับไมโกะรุ่นน้อง คือไมโกะที่เพิ่งเริ่มงานไม่นานและมักมีอายุต่ำกว่า 18 ปี เมื่อสังเกตผมทรงนี้จากด้านหน้า จะเห็นผมเป็น 3 ส่วน คือส่วนคล้ายปีกสองข้างของศีรษะ และส่วนของผมมัดเล็กๆ เหนือหน้าผากด้านบนที่ถูกดึงไปด้านหลัง จากด้านหลังจะเห็นผมเป็น 3 ส่วนเช่นกัน แต่แบ่งเป็นส่วนคล้ายปีกสองข้างทางซ้ายและขวา และมวยผมด้านบนตรงกลาง ที่ถูกม้วนไว้คล้ายดังโงะด้วยผ้าสีแดง

นอกจากไมโกะรุ่นน้องแล้ว ในวันพิธีแสดงตัวครั้งแรก (店出し : Misedashi) ไมโกะคนนั้นก็จะทำผมทรงนี้เช่นกัน แต่จะเพิ่มเครื่องประดับผมรูปพัดสีเงินจากปกติที่จะสวมเพียงชิ้นเดียวเป็นสองชิ้น พร้อมกับเครื่องประดับผมแบบพิเศษที่ทำจากกระ
