Snow Convoy Secrecia by by anotherwanderer
snoutballs are enemy dreamers and NPCs first encountered in the leng de mountains areas of the ancient world in chapter 4. they are dark blue, spherical dreamers with endearin' faces and short trunks. they wear purple shoes or feet that allow them to walk faster in the snow, and a winter hat with several purple and white stripes and a pom-pom at the end. they are the dreamification/imitation of various fossilized monsters with ambiguous features, possibly cave-dwellin' creatures, 'nd are exhibited in the froggitland museum. they are rather sleepy 'nd 'mewhat narcissistic dreamers. in fact, they tend to praise their large winter hat in a rather peculiar way, to the point of never lettin' it lie down. if the party take off the hat, all see is their baldness with three strips of hair on their head. they also tend to sleep unless there's any danger nearby. if they detect any kind of threat, they'll shoot snowballs from their trunks to stun the enemy. they also often party together in groups of three to fire in multiple directions, similar to a defensive tower. they usually speak with a northern canadian accent, possibly influenced by other dreamers with a similar accent that they may 've memorized from the beginnin'. on the neutral/pacifist route, they can be found on leng of mountain shootin' snowballs at the party. these snowballs can cause significant damage. curiously, these snoutballs are on platforms inaccessible to make an encounter. they can also be found at the frozen lake of leng de mountains, where they act as common enemies. 'fter bein' pacified, these dreamers will help the party deactivate puzzles and traps, havin' been freed from an ailment caused by the nightmarishes. upon defeatin' the titan guard, these dreamers will finally be recruited in funky town, specifically in pazuzu's garden in the snowy area. in the burnin' route, they will run away from the party in an attempt to escape, however, they are found and burned at the end of this route. their stats are 460 HP, 12 attack, 'nd 0 defence. their dojo fighterZ card reads as follows: type of bein': dreamer. categories: waddlin' head, ice element, narcissism, ego, sleepyhead, winter hat. description: "a spherical dreamer who 'lieves they has the best winter hat in the world, they usually have an ego and narcissism to the clouds, bein' capable of only caring 'boot what is theirs 'nd what they consider perfect, in fact, they blindly believe that they are perfect despite the thousands of defects they possess, it is unknown how they store so much snow to shoot it, it is possible that their body is flexible like rubber, and lackin' a stomach, these dreamers can shoot said snowballs with perfection"
Ice Artifice
Machines, cold blooded as they seem, yearn to stay unseen, in bright furious dreams.
This one's meant to be inspired by ice dragons, but I had no idea how I'd draw the tail, so I guess they don't have one. I wonder if subconciously I thought it'd be too xenomorphy that way. I wanted to capture some elements of the "Bright Night Terror" piece I did last year but also try out a palette I haven't used recently.
In my setting the robots are meant to be able to start out more humanoid, then transform into increasingly strange and curious forms, and the later ones are supposed to be crazy like dinosaurs, spider tanks, squid planes and so on.
So, where are the later forms? Somehow in between 2021 (?) and now I lost some of the confidence in just dumping pieces with unfinished ideas - there was a point I'd have one out every one or two days... Nowadays I give myself an hour or so to draw these and just accept that I have a tendency to do the humanoid ones cause I can pose myself in the mirror as reference. Unfortunately I am not a beautiful robot lady (yet). I'm just a robot beep boop.
By the way, this five fingered hand is just because I had some confidence today in my hand gestures again. The ones with weapons for hands probably just transformed their arms into those temporarily - maybe most of them have "natural" hand states. If so I intend for plenty of them have "natural" hands that are claws or have unusual finger counts, formats and arrangements - I don't think theres any "default" hand.
Accessibility for the different hand, claw and manipulator types is meant to come up from time to time in the setting - so not everyone can pilot or operate everything, but theres accomodations that can be made for most robots to operate most things, because that is what the Emperor wills.
Why would robots have an Emperor? So that I can write a story about what happens when the Emperor falls.
THERES NO WAY I FORGOT TO POST MY DIVA HERE IM SO SORRY PRANEE 😭😭😭
just a slight redesign with a full body this time woop woop lookit me go
